Pilgrimage Through the Storm Kindle Edition

4.6 out of 5 stars 23 ratings

“One does not become enlightened by imagining oneself as a figure of light but by making the darkness conscious.”
Carl Jung (1875 – 1961)

A deeper level of consciousness can only be birthed from a space of darkness, the void of all possibility, as all of life has arisen from nothingness. Such is the paradox of awakening. When you find yourself held in suspension, and when you are catapulted out of everything you know to be true, it is easy to forget the truth of who you really are.

However, no matter the outer experiences, your innermost essence is unchangeable.

A sense of isolation and separation are undoubtedly facets of the dark night, but in reality you are never alone. Many people have walked this path before you, there are those who are currently engulfed in its midst and those who will follow.

The pieces in this book landed as my own journey through the wilderness. Each fragment is a lived experience, and each lived experience is a mentor.

I offer you these words as your companion while you transition through your own inner shadows…may they provide comfort as you move through the deepest levels of release and find your way home, to a self-compassion you never knew existed.

This seemed complicated at first, but as I read on, it started to fall into place and make sense. If you are struggling with it don't give up, just keep going, it will make sense to you too!

5.0 out of 5 stars Introspective!

"Pilgrimage Through the Storm" by Bindiya B. Chanrai is a poignant and uplifting collection of poetry and prayers that explore the human experience of navigating life's challenges. The book delves into themes of darkness, isolation, and separation, but ultimately offers a message of hope, comfort, and self-compassion.

Through her writing, Chanrai invites readers to embark on a journey of introspection and self-discovery, encouraging them to confront their inner shadows and emerge stronger and more resilient. The book is a testament to the human spirit's capacity for growth, transformation, and healing.

It has thought-provoking and inspiring content, describing it as "a plainly worded prayer for each of life's situations" that "invokes us to pause and realign our thoughts with the one who brings us peace" ³.

It is a beautifully written and deeply moving book that offers readers a powerful tool for navigating life's challenges and finding inner peace.

I deeply connected with the poem "LOST". "The weight of the world on my shoulder, A cross too haard to bear. Lost in a maze with no way out Just Me, Myself, and, I". Those words will dig your heart deep, and you might get wounded too but it will also allow you to cross the pain and come back with new energy.

"Beloved Counsel" - " You say you will surrender But only to a point. This is not surrender, you are deluding yourself. To plant the seed, And then, doubt your faith... I promise you, The rain is now on its way".

These words play as our companion while we transition through our own inner shadows. It will provide comfort as we move through the deepest levels of release and find our way home, to a self-compassion we never knew existed.

    Key Takeaways:

A Journey of Introspection: The book invites readers to embark on a journey of self-discovery and introspection.

Confronting Inner Shadows: Chanrai encourages readers to confront their inner shadows and emerge stronger and more resilient.

A Message of Hope: The book offers a message of hope, comfort, and self-compassion.

It is a must-read for anyone seeking inspiration, comfort, and guidance on their journey through life's challenges and I would recommend to everyone.

4.0 out of 5 stars lovely collection of short poems

"Pilgrimage Through the Storm" by Bindiya Chanrai is a beautiful exploration of deep human emotions. This poetry book mainly delves into the themes of loneliness, isolation and awakening. The verses are poetic and calming. The author through her poems pushes her readers towards self realisation and helps them come out stronger. The poems are of short to medium length.

Almost all the poems became close to my heart while I read the book, but 'Peace' states 'To be gently seated in your feelings Allow them to wash over your soul.' I felt some lines like this so close to my heart.
A few of my favourite poems from the books are- Peace, If I (From Me to My Beloved), and Unconditional Love.
The poem If I (From Me to My Beloved) explores the narrator's inner fears and questions to her lover. She asks him if he would do things for her if she would ask little stuffs from him. This shows the pure, selfish and innocent love we all search for in our partner.

However, some of the poems could've been crafted in a better way, like On The Cusp.
If you're a beginner, just starting to read, this book is a great choice! The poems are easy to decipher, soothing and comforting. This book felt like a warm cup or coffee on a winter morning.

Being a lover of poetry books, this book really stood out for me. The language of the book is very easy, but the emotions it held made me relate to the poems very much. I loved reading this book.

Bindiya Chanrai’s "Pilgrimage Through the Storm" is a poignant collection of poems that navigates the depths of human emotions—loneliness, isolation, suspension, and awakening. Through her verses, Chanrai captures the essence of emotional journeys, portraying each feeling—whether it’s confession, commitment, or love—as an experience that shapes and transforms us.

What makes this collection stand out is its raw honesty. Chanrai doesn’t just articulate emotions; she allows readers to immerse themselves in them. The poems serve as quiet companions, resonating with anyone who has ever felt lost, uncertain, or introspective.

One of my favorite poems from the collection, Fellow Traveller, beautifully encapsulates the solitude of pain. It vividly portrays the sensation of carrying anxiety in one’s stomach, highlighting the silent battles we fight within ourselves. The poem’s intimate tone makes it feel deeply personal, yet universally relatable.

Pilgrimage Through the Storm is a deeply reflective and evocative read, perfect for those who find solace in poetry that speaks to the soul. It reminds us that every emotion is a journey in itself, one that ultimately leads to self-discovery.

Book - Pilgrimage through the storm
    Poet - Bindiya B. Chanrai
    Pages - 81
    No. of poems - 40

This is an incredible collection of poems, which digs deep into humane emotions. What I loved most about the book is its beautiful presentation of simple things.
"To learn how to create from emptiness, Spontaneous arrival of joy." - Genie in a bottle.
Some of the lines of the book are so pretty, it left me wondering about every single thing, but in a positive way!
The poem "Walking in Fear" narrates how we hinder our own life with our own fear. Life is full of uncertainties, and we should not be afraid of going on. Life has it's own ups and down, but if you don't move forward, obviously we won't go down, but certainly we won't be able to go up.

The poems are beautifully and soulfully crafted by the poet. I adore Chanrai's writing style. However, some poems like Human nature and No Mercy felt like they could've been written in a much better way. The slow transformation of the book from loneliness to self realisation is one of the best things I must say the book holds.

From emptiness in one's life to self-awakening magic, the book has it all! It's for all those people who feel lost in their life. Believe me, it all works out, and that's the magic of this book. It helps its readers awoke from within.

I believe that this is a great book for the people who are into poetry, and who are just beginning to read. It's an ideal book because it is under 100 pages, and the language used by the poet is easy to read. As a poetry lover myself, I love the way the author presented the poems, in a simple yet powerful way. I finished it in a single sitting. The book can have some minor modifications, but it's a great choice for a warm afternoon.
