Dr. Becca Tanner has moved to Vinegrove, WA from New York City after coming home to find her best friend in bed with her fiancé. After a night working at The County Hospital, she met a group of single ladies at Que Syrah Syrah wine shop and they have become fast friends over the past six months. They each place a name of a gentlemen in a hat for another lady to draw out, and she is supposed to ask him out. Chase Tanner is considered a playboy, but truth is, he was hurt in high school by the girl he thought he loved. Can Becca and Chase heal each other's broken heart and is there a future for them in Vinegrove. Can a date go from perfect to misunderstanding and forgiveness. Although this is a series, the book can read as a standalone but they are such cute sweet stories, you will want to read them all.

Heartbroken from a shattered engagement, Becca runs to a small town hoping to heal her broken heart. Two people she trusted and loved, played her for a fool. Becca caught her fiancé and best friend in bed together.
Since Chase had his heart broken in high school, he'd become the town slut. He planned on never risking his heart again.
    Until he met Becca.
Can they trust falling in love again?
I really enjoyed this short story by Angela Ford.

I've read all of Angela Ford's stories, and this one is a change of pace. From crime novels to sweet romance, this story proves Ms. Ford's versatility.

Dr. Rebecca Miller was happily engaged to her high school sweetheart Blake—until the day she came home and found him in their bed with her best friend. Devastated, she leaves her job in New York City, moves to a cozy little farm house and takes a job at the hospital in the small town of Vine Grove in the heart of Washington State’s wine country. Even before her job officially starts, she’s thrown into action when a fire destroys the local theater and several people are injured.

Chase Tanner is a firefighter. His high school sweetheart dumped him for the quarterback two days before prom. Since then, he’s played the field, and with his emerald green eyes, dark hair, and a smile that melts their hearts—not to mention that his family owns half the town—women flock to him in droves. But they never last.

When Becca’s new friends come up with The Love List, they all draw names of single men, and her pick is Chase Tanner. She’s heard about his ladies’ man reputation and that Chase Tanner doesn’t like doctors. Will these two ever get together? You’ll want to read the rest of the story and find out.

I did receive this book for my review in exchange for a unbiased and honest opinion.

This was a very quick read. I really enjoyed the book and I couldn't put it down because I had to know what happened. I would be horrified if I found my fiancé in bed with my best friend. I think I would have left town and started fresh too. I love how Rebecca so easily fell in love with the town and immediately started having what she deserved with a slow paced job and great friends. I love how Chase and her fell in love at first sight but yet it took them forever to get together. The ending was good but very quick. I would have loved to read more about their relationship between the two of them.

Finding love isn't easy when you have trust issues--just ask Dr. Becca Miller. After finding her fiance in bed with her best friend, she hightails it across the country looking for a fresh start. At first, she isn't interested in getting back in the saddle but when she draws playboy Chase Tanner's name out of the Love List basket, she might just change her mind.

Another great book in a very good series. This story focuses on the healing qualities of love. Both parties have to learn to trust again before they can decided if what they have is the real thing. The resulting tale is filled with vulnerabilities and tenderness that is important for enduring love. There is a realism that addresses the deeper aspects of love and friendship that I truly appreciate.

5.0 out of 5 stars Lovely short story, I really enjoyed it first time reader.
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on July 27, 2020
I listened in to the audio book version, this is the first time I have experienced this author's work. I loved it.
Short stories can some times be hit and miss, rushed, under developed, not really that engaging from the start etc. I never found any of this with Blind Tasting. As I listened to the audio version it felt like a complete love story to me. An enjoyable 'second chance romance' ,my favourite romance trope! Without giving spoilers we follow the story of Rebecca who has had her heart broken, she ends up in a new place for a new start. Here she forms friendships and does find love. What I really enjoyed about this short story is that I could identify with the main character, she is a 'city girl' from New York and I enjoyed the way the author eased her into 'small town life.' The transition into her new life seemed realistic. I could also understand why she left New York-- no spoilers from  me.

I also really enjoyed the characters-- Rebecca her self yes, and I liked that she was a career woman a doctor. Her girlfriends were interesting to meet too, and hear about their stories. The male line up was swoon worthy! I actually found myself liking Chase's brother as soon as came into the story, and Chase too. They came across as real gentlemen, from a small town. The author developed well their mannerisms to reflect this. In fact the whole 'close knit' community of a small town I found well written, and enjoyable being a 'city girl' myself.

Plot- I don't like to give too many spoilers for readers, but I enjoyed the author's imaginative ways for Rebecca to find love, that involved her girlfriends. As I listened I thought to myself, 'how cool would it be to do that with a group of girls, yeah they're  all bound to find a nice guy.' It was a good twist or situation to include in the story-line. I'm also not always a reader that loves typical 'sweet and clean' romance. Partly because things can always just fall into place, no challenges and sometimes can be a little hard to believe that love and life just 'happens' like that. With Bling Tasting I really warmed to the author's story-telling in the plot as there were slight challenges to it.

The journey to love- the change of heart Rebecca had towards Chase was very believable. It was not rushed, unclear or underdeveloped, considering it's a short story. I could see easily why she fell for him, after her heart break. The date they had got the ball rolling, it was such a romantic date! One that I would have loved myself, and I am petrified of horse riding LOL. But the author made me feel as if I'd like to experience what Rebecca did. It was very romantic. I also liked that there were some 'challenge' for Chase and Rebecca, everything didn't just fall into place. There was a little challenge for their union, which in the end worked out.

Overall, for my first experience of this author's work I enjoyed this feel good, sweet and clean romance. Love developed without sex heavily linked to it, a genuine bond formed. 5 really enjoyable stars from me. I would read more from the author, especially in audio book. I recommend Blind Tasting to all romance lovers who like quick reads, second chance romance and even cowboys!

5.0 out of 5 stars A heart warming tale of heartbreak and the ability for the heart to heal.

Though I'm not a wine drinker I know this book would match perfectly with your favourite glass of red or white.

Dr Becca has it all with her high school sweetheart, an understanding best friend and the perfect job. Though she works hard and long hours, it's the way things are done in New York, and she couldn't be happier. Until she has it all taken away and forces herself to start over.

From big city to small town, transition of any kind can be a challenge but it can also be the blessing we didn't realize we even needed.

Dr Becca teaches us that circumstances don't change what we can accomplish, our decisions and outlook do.

After reading this book I'm excited to read the rest of the series and see how they all do with their Love List. I'd also love to visit the town Ford created as the shops sound so quaint and inviting.

    Thanks for reading,

    Sarah Butland
