Holly is the face of her fathers charity foundation but wanted more for herself. She wanted the chance to move up in her career and knew that wasn’t possible in her dad’s business. So when her brother recommends her for his business partners assistant she jumps at it. But both her brother and his business partner, Elijah, hate her father. When secrets start to surface Holly isn’t sure how to handle everything. How is she suppose to navigate her attraction with Elijah and her love for her father knowing they hate each other? This book was amazing! It had angst, suspense, secrets, action, drama, romance, and lots of spice! I’m so glad I started this series and I can’t wait to read Patrick’s story in book two!

    Elijah gives Holly exquisite pleasure and a mind of her own. There is so much family, drama and business drama in this book, you won’t know who you can trust or who is telling the truth. She is everything he has ever wanted, and he is everything she never dreamed she could have. Their attraction is electric. Oxygen stealing kisses lead to their voracious desire for each other. Elijah has finally convinced Holly to tell him everything about everything, whether she’s happy, sad, sick or worried. The more they communicate, the more sensuous this book gets. It’s like they are being 100% with each other, and they are in their own little bubble of life and pleasure. Elijah takes care of Holly as if she were the most precious thing on earth. It is beautiful to read. She cannot imagine a life without him. Awesome book. This is the first book in the series and you will be so consumed with this book that you will have to read the entire series. Sensational.

    I enjoyed reading Holly and Elijah’s story. However I do wish we got to have some more BDSM aspect. I felt like it was a bit rushed.

    *Spoilers*

    The kidnapping was an interesting little twist, but it was rushed through. She was kidnapped, and then she was found. There wasn’t really any in between and information on what happened during that time. What did Troy say? What did he do?

    Also, prior to that, Eli overreacted to some “evidence” of her being a spy. She figured it out and solved the problem of her being setup. But there was no groveling. He definitely had some things to make up for, for dismissing her to easily.

    I realize these seem bad. But I truly did enjoy this book. I read every word from start to finish. And I would definitely continue the series.

    Ms. Nelson is a new author for me and I was not sure of the book. However, I find that I am really impressed with her writing style and work! The characters are interesting and well defined. The plot (yes there is one!) is carefully laid out with enough turns and twists that I did not expect. And best of all, even the secondary characters are defined and interesting. The author has created a "home" for her characters as well as a sense of "family" for them. I found myself cheering for Eli and Holly and concerned about their success.

    Darn !!! Now I have to get more of this series!!! I highly recommend this book!

    I’m all over the place on this one. I got invested and didn’t consider a DNF, but so much didn’t add up. SO many questions.

    I didn’t like Eli much and didn’t think the bedroom (etc) scenes were very hot because the raw stuff wasn’t balanced with tenderness, or even much aftercare. And his behavior in the office. Oh, come on. What an entitled baby-man.

    It’s weird how Patrick seemed so passionless and defeatist about his mother’s death. With all of the sleuthing resources at his command, even tho the book takes place years later, why wasn’t there more detective work? It took all of the energy out of the “our father killed our mother!” revelations. He just gave up.

    It’s not even clear what the horrific evidence against Holly was. Files? And it was never explained how it *was* obtained. For such an important plot point (third-act breakup) it felt contrived, rushed, and weak. Holly definitely forgave him too quickly.

    I just can’t recommend it.

    Holly is tired of working for her dad. She wants a job away from the Sutton Foundation. When she is offered an interview, she doesn't realize it's Eli from the night club, until the day before. Only his name isn't Eli, it's Elijah Barrett, the billionaire.

    Elijah is at a night club entertaining a client. When she walks in, he can't take his eyes off her. One thing leads to another and then they are interrupted during their make-out session and he has to leave. He promises he'll call her, but never does. Now she's standing in his office for an interview as his personal assistant.

    I can't believe I haven't read this series before. What wonderful characters and a great story line. I enjoy series where the characters from previous books are still around the main characters and you get to see how things progress with them. Eli & Holly's story was emotional and suspenseful and I enjoyed seeing the growth between the two of them during the story. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series.

    This is the first full-lenth novel in the Diamond Doms series and is a great start. This book has everything I love in a book: Romance, Suspense, Love and LOTS of heat. Holly and Elijah are both very likable characters as are the other "supporting" people who will hopefully get their own HEA soon.
    The story plays out in 2 different settings: the high-stakes Diamond industry and a super-secret BDSM club in the wilds of Colorado. I liked the way Holly's introduction to Eli's lifestyle happend over several weeks and in HOT and varied sessions. This is actually the first time I've read a scene where a number of impact toys were used on a "Let's try this and see if you like it" basis - absolutely fantastic.
    I'm not going to spoil the fun by revealing the complete storyline but I WILL say that it keeps you glued to the book - I think I didn't get up from my chair all day until I was done. What's more, if I had this as a paperback, I would make room on my keeper shelf. Fortunately, my Kindle will let me re-read it any time. Can't wait to get to the next one!
