Blood Diamond (Serial Investigations Book 6) Kindle Edition

4.4 out of 5 stars 13 ratings

Was it a thief…
… Or his family?

When a private client asks Ram and Will to track down a stolen yellow diamond, they quickly realise the suspects may be closer to home than he expects. Two adult children with serious issues, a jilted wife, and a young lover – and that’s just the beginning.

As what should be a straightforward case turns into a murder investigation, Serial Investigations London have to team up with their old friend Alex Heath – and an old enemy…

With Will in recovery and Ram staying on the wagon, everything seems to be looking up in their personal lives. They’ve even finally managed to admit their feelings for each other and turn casual sex into a real relationship, but that doesn’t mean the road ahead is without rocks. Will’s shyness around their relationship may just turn into the hurdle they fail at, with Ram feeling unwanted and pushed aside.

After an uncomfortable confrontation for Will, and with calls from their families becoming harder to ignore, the boys are going to need to work harder than ever to ignore their own issues if they want to get to the bottom of this crime – in which nothing is as straightforward as it seems.

If you’re a fan of hot gay romance, high-stakes drama mystery thrillers, or sharply witty Londoners, you’ll love Serial Investigations. Start a new chapter with the boys in Blood Diamond, a mystery with a sharp and bloody twist.

Editorial Reviews

Review

"It's perfect in the way it's written. It's got a dang good plot, twists and turns you never expect, a good mystery... It's just the best story. The author has a way of weaving you into it so well and I love it... If you're ever in search of a thriller and mystery all at once, with a great plot line, this is a great series to read on. It's got it all. And with this ending, I know it's going to get even better" - LoveBytes Reviews

My name is Rhiannon D'Averc, and I'm an author and ghostwriter based in the UK. To date, I've had over 100 books published. I live in Kent with my husband and son and also keep myself busy as the Editor in Chief of London Runway, an indie fashion magazine.

Serial Investigations follows a pair of private detectives, best friends and sharp minds harbouring a dark secret that is slowly destroying each of them from the inside. It's an extreme slow-burn romance with serial killings, references to real crimes, and the city of London as a central location.

Crowhill Cove is a gay romance series following a group of friends as they find love in unexpected places. Series 2 is coming in the late 2024! Find Crowhill Cove on Substack for extra content including short stories and a seralised novel.

I've had a really hard time getting into reading lately. It's been very hard, but I have to tell you, when I'm finally able to, I'm glad it's a book like this. It's perfect in the way it's written. It's got a dang good plot, twists and turns you never expect, a good mystery, for me - off page sex. It's just the best story. The author has a way of weaving you into it so well and I love it. There are still some triggers in these. Addictions never go away, and the author again, pulls no punches. It's always one day at a time and an every day fight to stay away from them and learn a whole new life.

I really love this one, too, because finally, Ram and Will are officially together. It's kind of like a train wreck at times and I hate it for both of them. With the examples they had in their parents and the expectations on either side, both Ram and Will have so many different views of things. And it's going to take time for both of them to work their way through it as they work through all the other issues as well. The best thing is though, they know they have each other's backs in every way possible now and that's never going to change. Sure, there are still some secrets that will need to be aired out and issues to deal with, but again, one day at a time. So I'm curious how the author is going to take their journey.

One thing about Ram and Will that will never change however, is the way they work together. They have this uncanny knack of figuring things out and seeing things that a lot miss. Sometimes they have to find things by not so legal means, but it sends them on the track they need to go to get whoever it is they need to get. And because of the experiences they've been through in their lives, they really tend to pick up on things others don't. I love how Ram caught on to something with one of the suspects that no one else did. And I think it would have taken a while for others to figure it out. Then again, Will, because of his parents being in the hierarchy they are in, he has a knack for cutting through the aristocratic crap that some try to pull on them. They work very well in sync, with having known each other so long and worked so well together. So I really love seeing how they pulled this one together almost immediately. There were a few things that were off, but with them, it turned in their direction quickly.

The only thing that got me was the end. The game is afoot again.

If you're ever in search of a thriller and mystery all at once, with a great plot line, this is a great series to read on. It's got it all. And with this ending, I know it's going to get even better....or worse for some.

This series has been getting better with each book. I appreciate the progress that Ram and Will are making with their relationship and I enjoyed the mystery of this book.

I received an ARC and this is my unbiased opinion
