And Blood Did Fall Kindle Edition

4.0 4.0 out of 5 stars 8 ratings

Darkness has risen to engulf the city.

A series of brutal killings have gone largely unnoticed by the people, engulfed in their routines and their dead end lives.

Feeling at the end of her tether, one detective stumbles upon a connection and a path that she has no choice but to go down.

Flanked by fellow officers who have no interest in seeing her do anything other than fail, she stands as the only line of defense against an enemy that previously only existed beyond the furthest reaches of the worst of nightmares…

Chad A. Clark is an author of dark-leaning fiction, born and raised in the middle of the United States. His road began in Illinois, along the banks of the Mississippi and from there he moved to Iowa, where he has lived ever since. From an early age, he was brined in the glory that is science fiction and horror, from the fantastical of George Lucas, Gene Roddenberry and Steven Spielberg to the dark and gritty tales of Stephen King and George Romero. The way from there to here has been littered with no shortage of books and movies, all of which have and continue to inform his narrative style to this day. Chad has written horror, science fiction and non-fiction. He has been published by Crystal Lake Publishing, Dark Minds Press, Shadow Work Publishing, EyeCue Productions, Darker Worlds Publishing and Sirens Call Publications. His books have received critical praise from the Ginger Nuts of Horror, Ink Heist, Confessions of a Reviewer, Horror DNA and This is Horror.

This novella is exceptional, riveting and I was unable to put it down until I was done. Chad Clark, imho, is of the best authors out there for the all the genres I love establishing horror.

4.0 out of 5 stars A killer novella.

An interesting take on a serial killer story that throws a healthy dollop of the supernatural into the mix. The horror is fairly intense with plenty of gore-spattered murder scenes throughout and whilst the author doesn’t hold back on this, the police procedural elements of the story could probably have done with a bit more and feel a little rushed. In truth, there’s probably enough material here for a novel.
Interesting characters – not all of them portrayed in a sympathetic light – and a very different kind of killer make this a gripping and suspenseful read.
