BLUE LAKE: Time After Time Kindle Edition

4.4 out of 5 stars 22 ratings

The love Nicole and Richard share is strong and has survived many lifetimes, but never without sacrifice and heartache. Some call it reincarnation. Some call it fate. But whatever it is, they always find each other. They're ready to jump in and help each other on this amazing adventure called life.

This time Fate rubs her hands together with glee and laughs as she plays a cruel joke on them by placing them on different continents, twenty years apart.

Nicole was born in Ohio. She doesn't remember her past life. She had a career, got married, and was later widowed. Richard entered life twenty years later in the UK and became an actor. But fate cannot keep them apart. What they have is more than love, more than attraction, or devotion. They are eternal soulmates.

When they finally do meet in Albuquerque, they remember their love and feel overwhelming joy, but the twenty-year age difference plants the painful thorns of doubt, worry, and fear. Their unlikely but undeniable love pulls them closer and closer, while careers, family, and other relationships push them farther and farther apart.

The ten-year period they spend together in this lifetime takes them on many exciting adventures from beautiful New Mexico, across the Atlantic to England, Ireland, Italy, and Aruba. Nicole and Richard have an incredibly strong connection, but they face not only happiness and joy but the dark side of life and love as well.

Come. Start the adventure with Richard and Nicole, where everything changes, but love remains the same.

Love at first sight, the BIG and REAL one, happens occasionally but if it does, it's spectacular. However, the relationship with the true soul mate or twin flame isn't easy, requires sacrifices and sometimes even inflicts pain. On one hand, perfect couples deal with overwhelming joy, on the other hand with doubt, worry, remorse and fear. Carol and Richard, the main characters in Blue Lake, initially sharing a strong connection, have to face the hidden, dark side of love as well and fight together for their future.
Despite being a down-to-earth person I got carried along with this novel. I suppose it's a matter of the cast, great and versatile setting and emotional charge. Even stone-cold readers like me would need some tissues to get through the Blue Lake and it's absolutely fine--it feels good to realize there is love out there. And it conquers all.
If you like smart and witty romance with interesting characters and superb plot, if you are not afraid to weep and cry, you should read Blue Lake.

    A great read!

The path of true love is often marred by potholes and detours. Nicole and Richard’s love seems to be tested along every curve. Can they stand the test of time? Blue Lake is an enjoyable tale following the couple through years of second guessing each decision along the way. The story adds texture through additional characters the couple interacts with as the story flows seamlessly through time.
The characters are relatable and flawed. Though Nicole comes off as superwoman at times, many of her choices were far from perfect. Well written romance with many touching scenes throughout. Highly Recommended.

After enjoying Carol Kauffman's other novel, Bel Terra; I wanted to read Blue Lake. This novel has been composed and developed into a truly epic romantic novel spanning over 10 years in time. It crosses the United States from the West coast, across the Atlantic to England, Ireland, Italy. Even a couple of trips to Aruba adds to the visual appeal. Mrs. Kauffman describes the scenic areas so well that you can easily visualize yourself there. The main characters are so well developed that I seemed to need a box of tissues by my side when their plights and troubles were made apparent throughout their saga. I really became immersed in this story. It is a true tale of the Power of Love...here and beyond. If you enjoy romantic novels interspersed with action and the occasional quips that makes you smile; you'll enjoy this book.

I wanted so much to love this story and was excited to begin reading. But, and this is big, the narrative lacked emotion. I asked myself why all the 5-Star ratings? The whole story was telling. So much so the author inserted exclamation marks for emphasis. The character development was non-existent. And the dialog was lame. (The love scenes even more so.) The dialog seemed to be written as a filler and not so much to support or move the plot. And what 27 year old male movie star (one which women swoon over) carries a note pad around in his shirt pocket? Very unbelievable scenes. My suggestion is to read other authors' works. Maybe even in the romance genre. Get a feel of deep POV and work on your skill of story telling by inserting emotion. Perhaps work on writing what you yourself actually felt when you wrote the story.

The bond between Nicole and Richard is instantaneous. One look into each other's eyes and both knew it. Well, Jack knew it anyway. Nicole thought she knew him from somewhere but was a lot more leery. There was some kind of bond which could not be denied nor could it be broken! No matter what, if something happened to Jack--Nicole would go to him and was able to save his life more then once. But people and their insecurities kept tearing them apart as well-no I won't tell you--but it happens consistently. Until they can resolve the differences and the problems-and there are many--they stay apart but together.

I thoroughly enjoyed this read and am looking forward to reading more in this series.
