Ted Bun

Full content visible, double tap to read brief content.

I was born in London, lived most of my life in the south of England. I only say that to excuse writing with a Sarff Lundin accint.

After a lifetime of not knowing what to do, RAF Officer, TV delivery driver, medical rep, trainer, computer guy … I'd even spent three summers running a naturist resort in Portugal. I decided to try something new and retired.

Lying by the pool in the South of France, a story started to take shape in my mind. Then the days got shorter, and the evenings longer, and I started to type. The string of random words turned into “The Uncovered Policeman.” Writing this story, I met the central characters, Bea being the most important. She nagged me into telling what turned into a series of 12 light, cosy romances with a cast of pleasant happy people, with quirky characters.

The New House trilogy, about a couple's first year of retirement in France, followed. “Almost a Year in Occitanie” - No, it is not autobiographical. OK, not very autobiographical.

More recently, Crooke and Loch launch their careers, solving mysteries and crimes in “The Summer of '71” and in a series of follow-up stories spanning the 1970s.

2020 marked the debut of another character … Melody. A lady of a certain age, a generous size and blinding intelligence, who first appears in "Problems and Passions."

The darkness of the great lockdown inspired some darker tales, for example "After The Event." As well as a few more escapist ones, such as "When The Music Stops" featuring the delightful Juliet Evans the singing solicitor

A great read
Ted Bun has a writing style that draws the reader in. The characters are believable and the nudity is almost an afterthought and becomes natural. A camp set in France is the perfect setting for naturism. A perfect, what I did on summer vacation. Would love to have another story with Gary, Marcel and Joelle!

Another great book by Ted. A lot happens through the story, the end or resolution seems a little rushed though. Overall a great and easy read.

Here is a simple story of "What I did on my Summer Vacation" with the expected twist from a writer whose fiction exemplifies "Normalizing naturism." It is brilliantly done, following the main character whose summer job in France turns out to be working for a naturist camp. Full of gentle humor and eye-opening revelations about how normal such a lifestyle can actually be. As with all of Ted's books that I have read, I strongly recommend this book, even if you have never considered naturism as a possible lifestyle choice.

Reviewing a previous book, I said that if Ted Bun wrote a telephone book I would read it. Nothing has changed. All Ted’s books are “nudecentric”, full of the joy of clothes free living, and greeting card innocent. What a great way to unwind after a difficult day, relax on a beach, or just sit nude with a glass of wine and escape to a simpler place. If you don’t know Ted’s other works, start with the “Uncovered Policeman” series. But wherever you start, be ready for a delightful experience.

Ted knocks this story out of the ball park.
This is a story of young love that starts with a lack of information on details of his summer job in a foreign country.
I would love for this story to be expanded into a full book.
    Keep up telling wonderful stories.

Well written story, easy to follow and to imagine yourself in it. To bad that is not longer.
Recommend it for everybody, the naturism is always there but not in a graphic form that could bother the ones new to it.

Thank you, Ted, for such a pleasant read.

Wish I’d had a summer like this in my youth! Nice story, interesting characters. But then as expected from the creator of “Rags”, one of my favorite naturism series.

5.0 out of 5 stars A charming story
Reviewed in Canada on December 1, 2022
This is a charming story of a young man's summer vacation. It would be an excellent introduction to naturism for a hesitant young man as the story covers many of the specific concerns sensitively without being preachy. A heart-warming story.
