    I have read several books by Ember Davis. But I have to say this one might be my favorite. A story of bullying, betrayal, physical, verbal and mental abuse, to finding love, happiness, protection, empowerment, a whole can of FAFO to the best HEA. No spoilers from me. You HAVE to read the book. Be warned there are triggers. But if you can get passed them you'll find and amazing story about perseverance and never ending love between Blood Rising packs Alpha Tristan and his Luna Serenity. So worthy of 5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

    I would have given 5 stars but there was just to much bullying and abuse for my taste, the first 5 chapters until Serenity is saved by Tristan her mate. Other than that it was a good book. Todd and his father and his family get what they truly deserve. Trigger warnings.

    This was sooooooo amazing! If you are always on the lookout for a gripping, angsty rejected mates story, this is for you!! My heart broke for Serenity, all the pain and betrayal she experienced was torture. Tristan was the alpha to end all alphas. He was a truly amazing leader, his power and loyalty show how perfect he is for his Luna. Such perfection from start to finish, I cannot recommend this romance enough!!

    I wanted to love this book, but sadly, it's only okay. The writing is good, but the story is very much lacking in logic and cohesion. There are a lot of elements that just don't make any sense whatsoever; and the reasons "why" for all the drama in Serenity's original pack are literally left completely unexplained beyond a cop-out generic "they wanted power." But HOW were they going to get power with their plans? Why did they do what they did and how would that have given them "what they wanted?" How did they think they'd get away with it? Why are these alphas all gaining power at like 18-19 years of age? Seriously... there is SO MUCH potential here, but it feels really, really unfinished. I was honestly so frustrated that I almost quit many times, but truthfully the writing is good, and I DID love the story between Serenity and Tristan; if it had just been their story, it would have been a 5-star read, but the drama and mystery and ab*se make zero sense... so, I'm giving it 4 stars because it's well-written and I did like more of it than I didn't, but I wish the writer had taken more time to work out the plot holes; maybe some more diverse beta readers to work out the elements that didn't jive? I'll certainly read other stories by this author because I like how she built the world, but this is disappointing to me.

    Ember Davis gives this werewolf tale her special brand of instalove and does it with panache. Serenity is one strong woman to survive and overcome her past and Tristan is her perfect mate protecting her but also letting her fight her own battles. This is a really great heartfelt read.

    I loved this story. The way that this story is set up, woven, and the shifter world explained is exciting, intriguing, and makes me want to read more. The characters are complex but well explained. Also, the subject matter of abuse just to weaken the woman, thereby controlling the situation is written with a deft caring hand. Then there are the sexy times….so good, as expected from this author!

    I'm a long time fan of Ember Davis but I had not read any of her other paranormal romances so when when I got an opportunity to early review this one I couldn't pass it up. I was not disappointed. This books has the paranormal trifecta: Rejected Mate, Hot Alpha Hero, Fated Mate Instalove.

    While I am newer to the paranormal romance genre I have read several in the Wolf Pack/Alpha/Luna theme and this one is a great addition to the troupe. Even though the bones of this story has been done before, I really enjoyed how it played out. There was a slight twist I wasn't expecting that shows you there is a bit more to the story than meets the eye. I particularly enjoyed how the once beaten down heroine came into her own by the end of the story.

    Trigger Warnings: Parental and Sibling Abuse, other physical abuse.

    DOES NOT include forgiving/falling in love with former abuser. I wanted to point that out just in case you shy away from that particular trope. You have a pure Alpha Hero in this book and I am here for it!!

    This story is short and sweet and left me looking forward to more stories in this new world that Ember has created.

    If you are fan of Ember's contemporary romances and aren't normally a paranormal fan, I would encourage yo to give this a read. If you are a fan of Wolf Alpha/Luna Paranormal Romances this book will check all the boxes.
