This was a good quick favorite read of mine. I totally loved this book! I picked this up free on Amazon and read it in just a couple of days. This book had everything one could want in a book. After reading the first few pages I was hooked. I loved the story of Alex and Ella. It was beautifully written that pulled on the heart strings. I like the forbidden aspect of this book, maybe not so much forbidden but Ella being off limits to Alex. I think the book had sweet and steamy scenes that were done tastefully wasn't over the top or obnoxious. I enjoyed the friendship between the couples and the characters that were introduced that would be in the next two books. I liked that it flowed well, it was a good story that I was very into and kept me reading. I was hooked immediately after the first few pages and I really enjoy the Christy's writing. I felt connected with the characters, I got the jokes, and the "Friends" references. This was a good page turner and I was left in suspense in a few chapters. I had keep reading to find out what happens. I am glad I was able grab this from Amazon because it was so worth it!

Christy is a new author to me and this story is a great introduction. She gives us two characters who are trying to reinvent themselves. Alex is ex elite military and now had his own private security company. He lost someone on his last mission and hasn't been able to get past the grief. He hides behind work and women. When we meet him he is drowning in the darkness he thinks he created, but he meets Ella that night and its an intense moment for them both. Ella is in the states looking for a property to open get second store when she has one night with Alex. What they didn't expect was to see each other again. Alex is tasked with being Ella 's bodyguard. This is a moment where they either fight the chemistry or give in. What do you think they will do when they have to see each other everyday?

Bound to me is about two people finding their way to a second chance with a little action thrown in too. I love the storyline but it slows down toward the middle. Alex is alpha, funny, sexy, protective but he swims in guilt. Ella is sweet, funny, and has a beautiful heart. Together they are intense but Alex can't see through the past to give them a future. Ella's strength is the key to helping them through and I love them both. Great story if you are looking for a new series to sink you teeth into.

Christy Pastore delivered with this book. I have been excited to learn more about Alex since Fifteen Weekends. This book has everything you want in a romance novel—heart, passion, heartbreak, and suspense. The words the author writes make you feel the characters, understand their story.

Alex has a painful past, and I loved that the author writes his past honestly, without sugarcoating it. You empathize with Alex, his background, and his story. His character was so strong, yet pained when it came to her personal experiences. Ella's bubbly personality and pure heart were a perfect match for Alex. Though she also has her own past to work through, she adds light to this book.

I truly enjoy Pastore's descriptive writing. She incorporates all the senses into her writing, making it a true pleasure to read and immerse oneself into the story. This book had me smiling and falling in love with the characters, while also on the edge of my seat in heart-pounding suspense.
I was cheering them on, for their own personal healing and for their love.

A few of my favorite lines:
"Stop letting fear dominate love," and "Some girl's dream of a knight in shining armor is nice, but scars tell deeper stories."

This is my first book by Christy Pastore, and I must say I really like it! I enjoyed the story, the plot, all the scenarios, Alex and Ella were so so sexy and hot!

This is a forbidden romance and both hero and heroine bring baggages. They have to get over their past at the same time they have to learn how to deal with their feelings and what they expect from their future, and it is very often hard to conquer all of that!
It is sweet seeing them strugling to make it work and fighting with the obstacles that show up on their paths. That was great.

But I decided to give 3,5 because I felt that their bonding, their backgrounds and their emotional development about both themselves and their pasts were lacking in deepness. I mean, I know I said it was sweet to see them strugling, and I still believe in that, but I also think it all happenned so fast that I felt that I was being told the story, but I wasn't being totally convinced about the story at some points.
I read it, but not always I felt it.

But that doesn't change the fact that I had fun and I enjoyed their hot and sexy moments and I liked the thriller.
I still want to read Christy's other books, and after reading so much about Ella's brother and his girlfriend, now I want (really want) to read the books about him!!

Christy was a new author for me when I started Bound to Me, after reading it she has won a new follower. I found this book to be extremely difficult to put down, I loved the forbidden aspect of Ella and Alex's relationship. His job was to protect her, but it became personal even when they have everything going against them. Christy is a fantastic writer, this book is so well written, the characters had amazing chemistry. I couldn't get enough of it. I can't wait to read the next book in this series.

You aren't meant to fall for your bodyguard, but sometimes these things just happen. Just like Alex and Ella's first encounter was before she knew who he was.

The one night stand was meant to be just that, but the more time they spend together the more they realise that the forbidden relationship is that forbidden after all and might just be worth the risk.

Ella is moving on from her party girl past and ends up in New York hoping to move forward into opening up a boutique and avoid relationships, while Alex has just ended a relationship where it's left him questioning himself, so he decides one night stands are all he's interested in.

However, the chemistry is off the charts and it's something Alex and Ella cannot deny, no matter how hard they try. I loved this bodyguard love story.
