- Reviewed in the United States on May 27, 2020WOW! I love this story! What a delightful read! The twist in this story is so unexpected yet in hindsight, I'm wondering why I've never questioned the original tale to see the potential for a sequel.
I don't even have children to share this with but I am so glad that I read this! It's so wonderfully written and illustrated, but the message is what really grabbed me. So inspiring!
The questions and thoughts at the end in the "Behind the Scenes" section are so helpful and insightful.
This is the first illustrated story that I've read on Kindle. I have always been so disappointed by travel books in Kindle format so I was skeptical about how this one would work, but it's perfect.
Buy this! You won't be disappointed!
- Reviewed in the United States on September 12, 2020I read this with my 5 year old son and we enjoyed it. This story is a clever spin on a well-known tale with a nice message throughout. Looking forward to reading other stories in this series.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 18, 2020As an educator, I really enjoyed the witty, playful and lyrical writing and illustrations. I especially appreciated the Behind the Scenes prompts to help guide the conversation so students can delve deeper into the themes. Refreshing.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 10, 2020Fun take on Humpty Dumpty. The story is written in rhyme and stands on its own as a message kids will "get" and relate to if it's about being free to be oneself and explore and be vibrant, not stifled. I imagine kids might identify more with the kid in the story than with the resistant adult, so I expected the prompts in the back to be aligned with that, but the focus seems to be more on addressing the kind of fear of change King Dumpty is feeling rather than the urge to change that Humpty is feeling. Even so, children do get anxious about change sometimes, and the tips in the back are a nice way to help with that.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 13, 2020The author presents a new spin on an old tale and makes it even more interesting. I have read a couple of her other books as well, and In my opinion you should buy all her books. Your kids will love them.

- Reviewed in the United States on September 10, 2020A funny fractured fairy tale in the kingdom of Eggsville. Children will love this version of the original classic. Filled with vivid illustrations and rich rhyming vocabulary.

5.0 out of 5 stars Creative book, great teacher resource
This is a light-hearted enjoyable spin-off of Humpty Dumpty! Katie Pye's series of fairy tale spin-offs are great classroom resources for a span of ages! You can use them to study rhyme and poetry, fairy tale literature and alternate endings, and explore themes and topics relevant to everyone's lives. There are also helpful prompts and ideas in the back of the book for teachers and parents alike--particularly good when parents are engaging with their children at home.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another lovely book in this imaginative series
I love this imaginative “Fairytale Fraud” series. All the books I’ve read so far have been well-written, beautifully-illustrated, and have contained an important message for young readers. This story takes the Humpty Dumpty nursery rhymes, and puts a completely different spin on the story to help readers see that change can be helpful and liberating. As with the other books in the series, the story is followed by helpful conversation prompts and suggested related activities for the “Change” theme of the book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant
What a brilliant story. I love the way to relook at old stories and see what we can take out of them now. Also the reflection part at the end is nicely done - it really invites you to think about own habbits and changes in a very respectful way.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another great book by Katie Pye
My daughter likes books written by Katie Pye so we had to check out this new release. The author takes an old “we know it all» story and beautifully and unexpectedly developes it so that it not only entertains but also teachers kids. Well written. And very entertaining!!!
