Brick's House: Royal Bastards MC (Royal Bastards MC, Roanoke, VA Book 1) Kindle Edition

Brick

I never expected a chance reunion with my old friend, Declan, who is now with the RBMC, to result in my club, the Roanoke Raiders MC, to patch over, but it’s happening. When I get a cryptic message that I need to find someone, I find out that this new brotherhood my club has entered more than has my back. As secrets emerge, we find ourselves enmeshed in an issue that permeates the country. The question is, will we succeed or fail?

Rayleigh

My whole life has been one long, continuous nightmare. When I’m tossed out like trash and left for dead, I make peace with the fact that I’ll never know what it’s like to be loved. Waking up, I find myself surrounded by men in leather. Men who assure me that they’ll protect me and keep me safe, something I’ve never known.

**Suitable for ages 18+ due to adult content, language, and situations.**

I'm a lifelong reader who had a dream to write her own books. A transplanted Yankee, I recently moved cross country from Georgia to Texas. While I have a strong personal belief system and faith, I won't be "preaching" in any of my books. They'll have perfectly imperfect people in it who meet, fall in love, fall into bed (at times; sometimes they might wait), have kids, get married. In short, I want to write books that make people think and feel.

My debut novel, "Bountiful Harvest" was released on the 7th anniversary of my mom's death. Somehow, I think my biggest cheerleader and staunchest defender helped it publish so quickly.

Since hitting publish 8/31/16, I've had the privilege to begin co-writing with Liberty Parker on an MC series, the Rebel Guardians. There are seven books out in this series, plus two books in a spin-off (2.0, the next generation) and the first book in The Nelson Brothers (who show up in book 5 of the RGMC). We're hard at work on yet another spin-off (New Beginnings) featuring some of the girls from the RGMC whose love interests are not with the men from the MC!

I also co-write a series of children's short stories with a fellow author, Cherry Shephard and her 10 year old son. Get immersed in "The Mischief Kitties" and their zany, crazy lives!

This book checked off all the right boxes for me. I really enjoyed the story, characters, and this new mc patching into the Royal Ba*tard world. A well-written mc novel that had me glued to the pages.

Brick is a protective, loyal, caring man who's also the president of the Roanoke Chapter. He might be gentle with his new sprite but he's lethal and willing to do anything to keep Raeleigh safe. He's patient with her when she needs it most and I love how he steps back and lets her discover what she wants before claiming her. Raeleigh-or Sprite as she's called by Brick-is a strong female lead who's gone through unimaginable horrors. Abused and neglected, she's left for dead . . . no spoilers but the plot twist at the end really has me rooting for Rae, Brick, and the club. Highly recommended!!

I love this story. Yes, some bad things happened to BRICK’s ol lady but by the time she was found by Brick and the MC, her luck turned to solid gold. It is a good read. HEA, no cheating, cliffhanger (but the next book is available and will be my next read. Highly recommend this story which will leave you feeling happy.

Leave it to Voodoos grandmé to turn Brick's life upside down, and ours too thanks to the ending..lol
I loved this book. First, Rael was in it ( never go wrong there ) and second, it was a great story. Heartbreaking but amazing all the same. Brick is President of the newly patched over RBMC and has a clubhouse full of brothers from everywhere. When in walk Voodoo and all hell breaks loose forever changing Bricks life. Raeleighis broken and left for dead but an Angel, real and figuratively, saved her and changed her life in the process.
The ending will have you counting down to Dec 20, I cannot wait.
    Highly recommended!!!! 5+ stars

Darlene has hit it out of the ballpark with the beginning book of the Royal Bastards Roanoke Virginia chapter. It's hard to read all about Rvleigh's past but remember the RBMC series is a darker series. When Brick and the others are sent by Voodoo's grandma to find her, the couple's journey to each other begins. There is steam, angst and love in this story. Love not only between Brick and Ryleigh but with the brotherhood of the club as well. This book does end on a cliffhanger but never fear, the next book is also available. I am on my way to get it right now.

What a good book, Darlene takes you on a wild ride, Brick is told to look for a girl that needs help and he find Raeleigh cold in the snow but so beat-up he takes her to his clubhouse and takes care of her. His feelings for her are so off the charts but she hasn't ever lived so he lets her have her freedom, she never had a birthday or christmas, Raeleigh is one strong lady works hard and wants to take care of herself. The only thing about this book it has a cliff hanger so I've got wait for the next book to know the answers of the DNA that Brick took of hers and Banshee. Other than that it was a must read.

    Trigger: rape, abuse, death troture

Rayleigh life been hell and she was ready for death when she found in the snow after her abuser though she was dead.
Brick club as patch over to be royal bastards when Voodoo told by his grandma that he need to save his o'lady but he didn't have one yet.
Brick save her and he know she belong with and the club. Their past will come back to haunt them. There a hell of cliff hanger but worth the read.

5.0 out of 5 stars A good read.

I did enjoy this book, despite the tough read at the start about what happened to the female lead. Instead of the usual smothering she is allowed freedom to grow and learn which was very different to other stories, and actually made Brick a much stronger character. It was also great to read of some of the other RBMC characters as well. The book does have everything a reader requires in a good book. Romance, suspense, humour, heat, and justice. Overall Ms. Tallman wrote a very good book.

My heart was in my mouth from the first words, this poor girl had only ever known hate, is sold by her parents and beaten to the edge of death by the scumbag who took her and left in the snow to die. She would have died too if not for Voodoo’s mystical Gran.
Brick is smitten from the off, this girl is his destiny and he is her hero. I’m so in maternal love with Rayleigh, I want to pluck her out the book and hug her, she is amazing.
Ends on a cliffhanger but oh my what a good one

Looking forwars to December with the next part of the series. Brick and a group of his men are given a message from beyond regarding a beaten, almost dead young lady. They find her and their healer goes to work. It's her back story that grabs you. Worth a read.

5.0 out of 5 stars what a great start to a new series
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on December 21, 2022
I was a little nervous to read this was darker than Darlene’s usual books but I needn’t have worried. Yes there is violence and bad language- they’re an MC but they are funny and supportive and tender to their women too. I loved that Rayleigh is starting from absolute scratch because Brick is too when his club patches over. Be aware it finishes on a cliffhanger but luckily the next book was published the same day I bought it! Bring on the rest of the series please
