Brothers in Blue: Marc: Brothers in Blue, Book 2 Kindle Edition

4.5 out of 5 stars 1,307 ratings

Meet the men of Manning Grove, three small-town cops and brothers, who meet the women who will change the rest of their lives. This is Marc’s story…

Officer Marc Bryson doesn’t believe women should be in law enforcement. Ever. When his older brother, Max, is promoted to the small town’s police chief the first thing he does is hire a woman fresh out of the academy. Then makes Marc her Field Training Officer.

Determined to follow in her late father’s footsteps, Leah Grant has the moxie to break any glass ceiling that stands in the way from becoming a police officer. Even if that means proving to her coach—who only wants her in his bed and not in the field—she’s worthy of being a permanent member of the force.

Working in a man’s world, Leah challenges Marc’s misconceptions about women in the line of duty. But as they struggle to separate their work life from their undeniable chemistry, things continue to steam up and get a little kinky. These two officers of the law must toe the line after being caught red-handed.

In the end, can Leah prove to Marc that she is good as backup as well as in bed?

Note: This is a full-length novel. It doesn’t have cheating or a cliffhanger and has a guaranteed HEA.

Review

5 STAR REVIEW from TBR Book Blog: "I love me a man in blue and Marc isn't any different. Minus his macho, women shouldn't be cops attitude. To his credit, he puts Leah through the paces of learning how to do patrol. He wasn't counting on Leah being so attractive and such a good cop. Or the Chief, his brother, being so adamant on him training her. Leah has graduated at the top of her classes in school and the police academy. Unfortunately, she doesn't get many job offers as a woman. So the one she gets, she's going to do the absolute best she can. Even if that means dealing with a hot, chauvinistic Field Training Officer in Marc. Hot, sexy times with some good family shenanigans as well. A great read!"

TRR TOP PICK & a 5 STAR REVIEW: "These two have explosive chemistry in bed and are so perfectfor each other. There are explicit sex scenes that are well written and have asurprising appearance of nipple rings and other sex toys. I also loved thatLeah stayed at Marc's parents' house when she moved to town so that we continueto be involved with the whole family from Max's story in Book #1. This romancecan be read as a standalone because of its own HEA, but the family ties andsmall town life carry over. I love that Ms. St. James has made each of thesebooks in this series unique so far. I appreciate that they are not both thesame premise with new names inserted." - The Romance Reviews

What is in the water in Manning Grove? Because I want some of that! Jeanne St. James' second Brothers in Blue is HOT. She's created quite the stir with her Bryson Bucks, as Teddy likes to call them. They are all Alpha and all kinds of yummy.

So what happens with an all American, Man's Man alpha meets his match? All kinds of no good, and by that, I mean the best kind of no good. You know when a character is well written because the elicit an emotional response, and I wanted to smack Marc upside the head more than once in this book. His whole professional attitude with Leah had me grinding my teeth more than once. Not that he didn't make up for it, but I still wanted to smack him.

I loved Leah from the get go. She was strong and chasing her dreams for all the right reasons. Again, St. James did such an amazing job of bring these characters to life, more than once I wanted to give her a high five and encourage her to stay strong, continue to do what she needed to make her dream a reality. And I have to say, I firmly believe she came out on top, in more ways than one. I also loved she wasn't afraid to be an alpha in her own right. Too many times, strong women are referred to as witches, or you know the other terms, while selfish, witches are called strong women. Leah is a perfect example of what an alpha woman should be. She didn't take any of Marc's crap, but she was sensitive and sweet at the same time.

I can't wait to see what St. James has in store for us with the youngest Bryson Buck!

This is the second book in the series and can be read as a standalone. Marc Bryson is a police officer and currently the only one certified as a FTO (field training officer.) His brother Max, who we met in the first book, is the sheriff and assigns him a new recruit to train for a few months. The new trainee turns out to be a female named Leah Grant. Marc has strong opinions about women working in this field and would prefer they find another occupation. Leah is a take charge, no guff kind of woman and is prone to putting men in their place if necessary. Hence the power struggle between these two alpha personalities in trying to decide who wields the power. However the more time they spend together their attraction cannot be denied. Will Marc be able to maintain a professional distance to train Leah properly? Will their mutual attraction get in the way of their jobs?
Jeanne St. James has an authentic writing style that entrances readers, brings the characters to life and leaves you wanting more. I highly recommend reading this book and look forward to the next one about the third Bryson sibling.

This is the second in the Brothers in Blue series. It can be read as a standalone although most of the supporting characters are ones from book one as well. I love Ma and Pops Bryson and Teddy and was glad to see them a bit in this book. Amanda is also back with her outspoken personality, her brother Greg, and husband Max (Bryson brother #1). They're such a close-knit group of people and Leah fit in perfectly.

Leah and Marc were also perfect together. They had instant attraction and chemistry. Leah was fresh out of the police academy and had been hired on by the Manning Grove police department. Marc was the only one qualified to be her training officer. Too bad he had old fashioned values about women and them not being capable of being police officers. These ideas mixed with his attraction to her led to some interesting interactions between them. It was great! Their banter and inner dialogue had me laughing out loud quite a few times. I definitely recommend reading this series!
*I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book. This is my honest review.*

A stand alone read. Naturally, brothers in blue is the police force. This is a small town, one brother is the chief and his younger brother is on the force as well. It is a small department so when a female applies they take her. Of course these guys are very alpha bad boys and really don't like women cops but they don't have much choice. The younger brother is assigned to be her partner until she has had real life training. So, he has to take her with him for the next 2 months to give her the training she needs. He is going to make life as hard as possible for her. She is determined to show him she is capable of handling the job.

Naturally she is hot and he can hardly control himself around her. It seems these two were made for each other but getting together could cause them both to lose their jobs. He is in the position of power over her so he needs to be very careful. But nature being what it is they don't last a week before they are going at it.

Thus far the story is very sexy (but you wouldn't expect less with that cover shot) --however the cover shot was missing a little jewelry, so no surprise there. This female is tough and probably the female equal of the alpha male. She likes being in control in all ways.

Up to this point I thought the story was pretty good. However, after she pulled her little trick with the handcuffs, I lost all respect for her. In fact, I didn't like her at all after that. I wonder how she would have reacted if he had pulled that little trick on her! Not at all funny. Men should learn to think with their bigger brain. I quit reading. I couldn't drum up enough interest to care how the story ends. Just NOT FUNNY to me.

I was not paid for this review. I am not an author nor do I know one. I am not kin to this writer. I am a reader and this is my OPINION, nothing more, nothing less. 10/8/17

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. Marc and his two brothers are ready to begin the rest of their lives. In this book we meet and discover Marc's story. He's made Chief of police in their town and the first thing he does is employ a fresh out of academy recruit called Leah. Her father was also in the police force so she has a lot to live up to. The attraction between Marc and Leah is off the charts, but is it enough? He wants her in his bed but she wants more. Can she change his mind? A fast paced. steamy love story that captured my imagination at the beginning and held it to the end. A great short read. Recommended. Brothers in Blue: Marc

Women's lib has come a long way, with women working jobs that previously were male only roles. However, just because a woman is trained in the role, it doesn't mean that some men feel that some roles are suitable for women. Whether due to the protective nature of the male or the thought of a female not having the same strength and ability. it is difficult to curtail these ideas.
So this is the scenario, a police officer, known for his attitude against women in the police force is the only option as the FTO (Field Training Officer) for the police department in a small county police department. When the new recruit is an attractive woman, things go a little haywire.
It's a good read, with a couple of sexual encounters that will make you laugh.
    I throughly enjoyed this book.

Oh wow. I have been waiting for this book for months and god was it worth it. I loved Marc and Leah were great characters and the storyline was perfect for them. I loved the way you saw characters from the past story and how their characters had grown too, this made the book even more perfect for me.
Jeanne has a way of writing that's amazing and her imagination is brilliant I wish mine was half as good as hers I don't know how she keeps thinking these stories up I just hope she does!
Everything about this book drew me in and I spent all day reading it not putting it down once for a breather. It's naughty and nice and everything spicy which makes you want more and she gives you more and more.
You feel like part of the family rather than the reader looking in and its a great feeling not knowing what's going to happen next.
Jeanne keeps you dangling on a string hoping something will happen but not knowing what or when and when it does it rocks your world again and again!
I loved everything about this book and would recommend it to everyone over 18 because of the sexual content. It's sexy and homely at the same time with loads of sexual tension in both the characters and probably the reader by the end of the book! Then there's the tension from the job too which adds to the story. If I could I'd give Jeanne 11 out of 5 for the content and storyline. I'm now going to re read it at a slower pace to enjoy that tension all over again......
