About the author

Laurie Baxter writes sweet romantic comedies and drinks too much coffee. She has degrees in both puppetry and screenwriting because let's face it, majoring in English would have been no more useful and way less fun. She loves chocolate, ice cream, chocolate ice cream, dogs, New York City, old movies, modern architecture, all kinds of theater, and music from before she was born. Her eighth grade English teacher told her to become a writer, so she did.

It was really engaging and a fun read.
Finding out bits of Ming and Charlie's history sprinkled throughout kept the tension. Really well written!
- Reviewed in the United States on December 1, 2017Format: KindleVerified PurchaseThis is a sweet, extremely short (39 page) story. Charlie and Ming were friends in high school. Without giving anything away, I will say there were misunderstandings that occurred back then. Years later they meet again at the movie theater on Christmas day. I thoroughly enjoyed the story. It leaves you feeling good at the end.

3.0 out of 5 stars I've loved many of this author's books, just not this one.
Format: KindleVerified Purchase-Adolescent angst ten years later are not my thing.
-All of Ming's life after HS was based on a so-called rejection.
-Charlie keeps being the gentleman and Ming keeps rejecting him in return, even when she needs a hand. I don't think this is what feminism is.
-I didn't think it was funny or sweet and yet I've loved many of this author's books, just not this one.
