Anyone who knows me could tell you, I am a friendly kind of person, never met a stranger and take up conversations any where at any time. I work hard, and my mind never seems to shut down, as I wake up often in the middle of the night with ideas pouring out and demanding to be dealt with. Of course that means much of my books were written in the middle of the night.

I grew up and still live in the great state of Texas where everything is bigger, where we have warm weather and a central location. I love my state, my town, and my family, which includes my four sons, my significant other, and many friends as well.

I have thoroughly enjoyed writing the books that are currently available and hope you will enjoy reading them just as much. And of course, there will be many more stories to come.

Christmas Candy is a story about love without necessarily being a romance. I would consider it more women's fiction or an atypical romance. Candy's early life has left her ill-prepared to give love or receive it in a relationship. Some might think she's harsh in her attitude toward Gary, But she honestly tries to dissuade his pursuits in ways that are not at all unrealistic when a person really wants a pursuer to leave him/her alone. What I liked most about the story is Gary's determination and patience that show he really want to offer her a real relationship, despite all the baggage she comes with. It is through him that readers see the Christmas Spirit striving to help Candy realize she can let go of the past and have and be that special someone in another person's life. The overall writing of the story is visual and allows you to feel like you're right there in the scene of whatever is taking place. In fact, you can't help but see yourself in some of the stores and doing some of the same things at Christmas time.

If you're looking for the standard formulaic romance, you won't find it in this story, especially since Candy doesn't thaw out until the story is almost over. But if you're open to characters who aren't breathtakingly beautiful, to meeting Candy's son and her mother, both of whom are great characters and to a hero who refuses to give up on his chance with the woman he cares about, you'll like this book. In addition, the events taking place in this story help to pull you in and keep you reading.

I listened to the audio version of this book. While some of the voices could have been better, I rate the overall experience at about 3 stars.

Christmas Candy by Samantha Jacobey is an entertaining Christmas story. Ms. Jacobey has delivered a book that is full of realistic characters. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.

Candy and Gary were a great pair and had a hard time getting together because Candy lost her father who was a policeman and Gary is a fireman. Being a fireman, doing a service job was dangerous and she was afraid of losing him.

I listened to the 2nd story, Christmas Eve, in this series first. That one was okay but I wanted to know if by listening to this story it might clear up some of the issues in the 2nd. What it did was solidify for me the issues started with this story and carried over to the next. I couldn't even finish listening to this one.

I was very disappointed that Candy was depicted as a spoiled brat acting more like she was 13 than 24. How Gary could even think about dating someone that self centered and childish I can't understand. There is a lot of unnecessary narration which doesn't move the story forward and little enough actual interaction. The story is unrealistic from a fireman leaving the scene of a fire and not even informing anyone where he was going to saying to depicting the fire happened a few minutes ago. Fires of that nature with multiple people needing rescue and with injuries don't finish in minutes.

I felt the story to be stilted and choppy written by someone just starting out. The narrator did a good job with what there was but there was only so much she could do.

These characters are awesome. After going through what Candy has gone through and survived and Gary being on so patient I can wait to read more about them.

I listened to the audio and I have to say, while I love audios, I didn’t really enjoy this one,in part was from the narrator and in part for the story, more specifically Candy's character. She was too unlikeable, always treating people bad and just unappreciative of everything. I don't even know how Gary likes someone this nasty. He is such a good man and in no way I would have thought he deserved a piece of work like that. Sorry not sorry.
It just didn't work for me, even tho the story wasn’t bad at all, but I couldn’t get over her character to appreciate it.
