From the Author
.
I love adventure and reading about strong women who are capable of taking care of themselves and those around them, and although the book opens when the chips are down, Tori is fast to get back on her feet and show her inner strength and ability to grow, learn and move forward. Her search for inner truth and love are inspirational and I hope that you will enjoy reading about her as much as I enjoyed creating her.
From the Back Cover
.
Tori Farrell has lived a dangerous life. When you grow up with a Motorcycle Gang of Mercenaries and Drug Lords like the Dragons, a normal life is more like a fairytale. For years, she accepted her dark reality, a world consisting of drugs, sex, violence and murder. In the end, she learned the most valuable lesson: survival.
.
After years of being ruled by the Dragons, Tori uses her skills of seduction and assassination to free herself from the grasp of the people who vowed they would never let her go. Taken in by the FBI, she fears not everything is what it seems, and soon finds herself lost in a web of lies and deceit. She thought getting away from the Dragons would put her on a path to a new and better life, but now she must face the cold hard truth... there is always a price to be paid.

About the author

Anyone who knows me could tell you, I am a friendly kind of person, never met a stranger and take up conversations any where at any time. I work hard, and my mind never seems to shut down, as I wake up often in the middle of the night with ideas pouring out and demanding to be dealt with. Of course that means much of my books were written in the middle of the night.
I grew up and still live in the great state of Texas where everything is bigger, where we have warm weather and a central location. I love my state, my town, and my family, which includes my four sons, my significant other, and many friends as well.
I have thoroughly enjoyed writing the books that are currently available and hope you will enjoy reading them just as much. And of course, there will be many more stories to come.

- Reviewed in the United States on April 17, 2014I don't know what bothers me more - the fact that this book (and part of the second one) kept me up until 4 a.m. or that I just discovered it was a 7 book series and I have to WAIT for the next four. Ugh. It is a testament to how amazing this story is that I am willing to wait and not just blow the author off and give up the series (like I have with other cliffhanging books).
This book. What can I say about it? It is not for the weak-hearted because some of the things that happen to the heroine are so awful because the author has written her innocence so perfectly. Because of that, when it is suddenly and completely ripped away from her you feel all her anguish at former "friends-mentors" turning into enemies. Everything that happens to her is horrid and if you have problems with sexual abuse, this book is not for you. It is graphic without being overly so (if that is possible) because the author stops before you begin to hyperventilate. It isn't even the act itself that bothered me (much) so much as it is the heroine's reaction in her innocence. She is a survivor but also a victim of manipulations just beyond the reader's eyesight. You somehow know it's there but you have no idea how it is going to play out.
The author has done an unbelievable job of keeping the heroine from becoming a "poor-pitiful-me-feel-sorry-for-me" character. She is unique and strong, yet still innocent in so many ways even though her life has been a nightmare. And even though she's a young character, that never really crosses your mind (i.e., like some YA books do). This book describes how she arrived to the place where she is now free but you just know there is more - that's how good the author is at keeping you on edge without telling you anything. You can hear the "da DUM" (Jaw's music) because you know... "It's coming" - the other shoe dropping. That's what forces you on to the next book and then the third because you pray she finds peace but you know, you just know she's not there yet (of course not, there are four more books).
I really didn't think there were any books out there that could catch me off guard and surprise me. I've read so many and they are so cookie-cutter in type even if the plots differ. This one is so beautifully different and so well written. Someone reviewed and said the story is unrealistic. How does that person know? I've heard of and known of unbelievable things happening to people so yes, this plot could have happened. Even if it couldn't, it is called fiction for a reason - just go with the flow because it is a wonderful (and horrible [for the h]) story.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 30, 2014Part 1 in this series comes together in pieces as Tori recounts, through flashbacks, her memories of being raised by outlaw bikers. As others have forewarned, this is NOT a love story where the "bad guy kidnapper" falls in love with the damsel in distress, feels remorseful, yadda, yadda, yadda. It is a tale of brutality, cruelty and suffering. This is a story that will make you cringe as you read about the horrors she was subjected to on a daily basis.
This book definitely isn't for the faint of heart, but it is a great read. The inner strength and survival instinct of Tori was astounding. Why she didn't use her blade to commit suicide early on is beyond me. Tori's story had me thinking a great deal about justifiable homicide.
It was also great that Tori is kind of a badass! I'm looking forward to the next book in the series to see where the story, and the relationship with Eli, goes.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 1, 2015I have no idea where to begin or what to say. This book BLEW. ME. AWAY!
Tori Ferrell was raised by a group of motorcyclists called the Dragons. She doesn’t know where she came from or who her parents are, although the leader of the Dragons, Eddie, claims he is her father. They have raised her with a very specific set of skills. (Sorry, I had to go there.) And she is very good at what they taught her. Of course being the only female in a group of 12 big, bad men, she does have one other purpose that she has no choice in. These men stole her life, her innocence and any hope of having a normal life. They are the only people she has ever interacted with. Once her caretaker of the group, the only one she liked, is killed, Tori is determined to find a way out.
This book is so, so dark, raw and . . . . incredible! Holy hell, this author is one talented writer. The story is laid out perfectly and bounces back and forth between the present and the past, filling in her horrific story. The only thing that threw me off was the details of “the plan” and her age. I have to admit, I was a bit confused, but figured it out eventually. I give this book 5 stars with 4 hands down the pants. I can’t wait to get the next book started, great job Samantha, great job!
- Reviewed in the United States on December 21, 2014It is a fast read but it read like it tried to hard. I did read the whole book though so it kept my attention.

5.0 out of 5 stars Have tissues ready!! This is awesome
This will rip your heart out and set it in a jar on the shelf to taunting you mercilessly. This is one of the most gut wrenching stories I have read in a long time, and that is not a statement I say lightly.
This is Tori’s story and I won’t say life because what she has is in no way any semblance of living it is existence at the most basic of levels. She has been brought up by The Dragon’s a gang that done nothing but use and abuse her. With no idea of who she really is, her real name or what it is like to be normal, Tori will break your heart as she recalls her life to Eli, an FBI agent.
Some of the events that she has endured have been brutal and my heart felt like it was about to implode when the true horror of her existence was being unfurled. The writing was graphic and I commend the author for sticking to her guns and giving no nod to pleasantries in dumbing down her content, Tori deserved that we suffered her horror alongside her. Tears are not optional when reading this... they are necessary as is a hefty dose of alcohol.
Tori herself may be and victim of circumstance but deep inside there is a glorious human being who is just screaming to be set free.
Whilst Tori is rightly the centre of attention in this book I couldn’t help but find Eli absolutely glorious. He was far from the usual character that we would normally get in books of this genre, happy in his own skin, with bucket loads of empathy and an edgy hint of alpha thrown into the mix.
This was a superbly crafted story that drew not only on dark situations but also on the determination of the human spirit and the absolute resolution that while death may have been more merciful, survival was paramount.
Some aspects of this book were physically difficult to take but the disgust that I honestly felt was magnetic, it will attract you to the plight of Tori, it will strip you bare and leave you shivering in her shadow

5.0 out of 5 stars Tough topics but amazing read!
Wow! This is an extremely powerful book that deals with so many emotions and so many difficult topics. I loved the book but it is an emotionally hard read, with everything that is discussed.
Tori is found barely alive and is taken to safety by the FBI who are trying to find out about her past with a dangerous group, the Dragons. While with the Dragons Tori is subjected to many things that make you shudder, yet she is able to escape.
Agent Eli Founder, is trying to help Tori and discover what happened to his former partner when he was working undercover. Yet, he finds himself very attracted to Tori and is confused about all the information he has discovered.
Will Tori be able to move on and find love or will she be another pawn in someone else's game?

3.0 out of 5 stars Interesting, but not my cup of tea
The book is greatly written and the story line is good. But that's all I can say. I am somewhat not into such violence elements / backdrop. But a good book nonetheless.
