Catching Blue Jay (Oklahoma Hearts Book 1) Kindle Edition
Ghosting my best friend is my biggest regret. Will my past cost me my second chance?
Running. That’s what I’m good at. When Aidan kissed me for the first time, I not only ran, I moved and ghosted him, breaking all my promises to keep in touch. Locking eyes with him years later sends me running again.
As my past catches up to me, I know I’ve got to stop running. It’s not easy facing my fears. Am I brave enough to reach out for what I want?
I lost Aidan once. I can’t lose him again.

About the author

I’m a dreamer, ever with my head in the clouds. Some of my earliest memories are getting in trouble at school while looking out the window, daydreaming instead of doing my work. Fast forward quite a few years (okay, a few decades) and I can still be found staring off into space with flights of whimsy and pictures in my head. (Just an FYI, I’m probably not staring at you. Lol.)
I’m a huge addict to the feeling of falling in love, which is clear by the fact I’ve been obsessed with romance novels of all varieties since I was around eleven years old. I’ve got a gigantic love for chocolate, sweet tea, and coffee. At any point in the day, I guarantee I have one of those in my hands without fail, or you’ll find a very grumpy Jacy.
Married with two kiddos, I’ve made my home in Oklahoma, which makes for some great storm chasing (even if it’s done digitally through my computer for now). When I’m not writing or reading so many great MM stories, you can find me usually doing something artistic. From designing things in Photoshop to crochet and DIY projects, I’m not a happy girl unless I’m doing something creative.

- Reviewed in the United States on March 13, 2019I had the great pleasure of reading the ARC of this book. I loved it. I would give it a rare 5 stars.
Have tissues handy for this emotional rollercoaster.
10 years ago in the face of separation Aiden makes a move to convey his feelings, only to have Jayson run away and never contact Aiden again.
10 years later Aiden's roommate needs a plus one for a wedding. Aiden is surprised to find his childhood crush standing up front.
Jayson is on top of the world, ready to marry his boyfriend. Only the boyfriend never shows. In the rush out the church he fails to follow up with the guest who seems so familiar.
Six months later and ready to join society again, Jayson goes dancing only to find the gorgeous guy ha approached is his childhood friend. Once again he runs.
So totally worth it.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 12, 2019A sweet love story of two MCs who had a rough awakening to their own sexuality when they were young and were torn away from each other, it was a random but pivotal event in their family’s lives that separated them when they were young. Meeting again when they were adults reawakened those dormant feelings that got aborted in the past. Past experiences are now foremost in their minds before they can totally give in to their feelings. The longing and the resurgence of feelings long buried are now part of their lives as they navigate this new chance to form the relationship that they should have had when they were young. One of the MCs has to settle part of his past so he can move on with the one who got away so many years ago. The other one is plagued with insecurities that he might be left behind again. It is painful for both of them, but one has to close that part of his past first so they can have a clean slate for their own future and the other one has to learn how to trust again. Friends can sometimes be sources of misunderstanding, and preconceived notions or prejudiced opinions can sometimes spell disaster-in-the-making. It is hard to give each other a second chance especially when both have been hurt before, but in the end, if we don’t risk it we may never know if this time we might get to have the person of our dreams. This is a story of second chances and being brave enough to admit and go after the person you love. Congratulations on your first novel Ms. Jacy Braegan, great job!
- Reviewed in the United States on March 14, 2019Overall, this was a decent, sweet read and has the potential to be a great series. Some grammatical errors made a few sentences awkward to follow, but nothing too distracting. Aidan and Jayson were childhood friends who ended their friendship after Jayson moves, breaking both of their hearts. As Aidan and Jayson reunite and make their way back to each other, the story becomes a bit predictable. For the most part, I liked both main characters but found myself wishing I were more invested in their story. As the story progresses, I also felt the character development of Jayson was lacking. I feel the author took the easy way out when the ex comes back into the picture; at the beginning of the story, Jayson was heartbroken and shocked that his fiancée ditched their wedding, but as the story progresses, the ex becomes abusive and controlling. All in all, I wouldn’t likely reread this book, but I would give the second book in the series a try!
- Reviewed in the United States on April 26, 2019I should have stopped with the preview. The story continues, through several very long sex scenes, and then — massive miscommunication! Because, of course ...
I felt cheated.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 5, 2019I adored this story. Aiden and Jayson were separated as teens. Years down the road after heartache they were reunited at Jayson's wedding to mister wrong who abandoned him at the altar. I could not put this book down from page 1 and read it straight through. Eventually the main characters reunited and true love came to be. Even in love there was pain and heartache, but it built the strength of the main characters. I am very eager to read more of this series after the strength of this opener. I was provided an arc for my honest opinions of this story.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 12, 2019I knew this book was going to be good when the prologue made me cry. The story is very well written and the characters are well developed and you feel like you know them, which is one of the first things I look for in a good book. The story moves smoothly and by the end you are cheering for the well deserved happily ever after. While there were some good twists and a little angst, I gave four stars instead of five as there was some predicatability in the plot. All in all this was a great read that left me with a smile on my face.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 12, 2019Jacy Braegan has given us a charming tale of two men who have finally overcome crushing heartbreak to find their happily ever after. We find our main characters both growing, maturing and learning to trust not only themselves, but each other. In this, the first book of the Oklahoma Hearts series, Jacy Braegan has opened the door to what promises to be a wonderfully entertaining series with all of the feels we can handle, and has set the bar high for upcoming books in this series. In short, LOVED this book! SO looking forward to more by this author!!!!!!
- Reviewed in the United States on March 13, 2019If you love a second chance romance, this book is you! Aiden & Jayson were best friends with secret feelings for each other until Jayson had to move well fast forward ten years later where the meet up again.
I really enjoyed reading about Aiden and Jayson it was an easy read with little angst. This story was well written and she made the characters come to life. There was some predictability and I was questioning some things that the characters were doing but I was smiling by the end. I'm looking forward to more of this author and would recommend!

5.0 out of 5 stars Loved this, their love is always there.
💞 A great start and it got me straight away into the story. I loved what happens next after the prologue. Lady fate is playing with heart strings or it just might be Jayden. Aiden was hurt when Jayden left the first time although he had too. Now a second time and a third but would a fourth time be lucky for Aiden to connect again. Damm this is a fantastic book to read. I absolutely loved the ending of this. A fast paced story with baggage and meantions of suicide.
10 years ago Aiden didnt get his goodbye to his best friend, Jayden that he wanted.
Now... Lady Fate beings them together.
