Catnip: A Nocturne Bay Story Kindle Edition

4.5 out of 5 stars 889 ratings

Ryo Castle’s only goal in life is to be invisible. He’s spent years perfecting the art, never doing anything to draw attention to himself, and he’s grown quite content with being alone. So, he’s not entirely sure how he let himself be talked into attending a masquerade party for the opening of the new nightclub in town. It’ll probably be fine, though. After all, what’s the worst that can happen?

With more than three hundred years to amass a considerable fortune, Andre Vasso lives a life of luxury and indulgence. Yet he’s always felt that something was missing, some vital piece that would make his world complete. He just didn’t know what that was until a gorgeous mouse shifter with big green eyes literally falls at his feet.

Ryo comes with more baggage than an airport carousel, but Andre doesn’t mind. No matter how long and winding the road, he’s determined to give his mate the life he deserves. But first, he’ll have to convince Ryo that the only thing standing in the way of their happily-ever-after is his own insecurities.

A task that might prove easier said than done.

Full content visible, double tap to read brief content.

Arden writes steamy m/m paranormal romance filled with fangs, mischief, and reluctant fated mates—because happily ever afters are best served with a side of chaos.

A true romantic at heart, she’s drawn to the tragically beautiful and the beautifully broken—those flawed men and the stories that make them heroes.

She’s been writing since she could hold a crayon and a juice box but has since upgraded to slightly more sophisticated tools. (And traded the juice boxes for an unhealthy amount of coffee).

When she’s not writing, she’s either lost in a good book or bingeing true crime podcasts—because nothing says romance author like an encyclopedic knowledge of murder.

This is the second book in this series that I've read and I loved it as much as the first one. Ryo is a sweet, feminine mouse shifter who meets his fated mate at a costume party, while trying to help his friend, Sammy. Andre is the demon owner of the club who comes to Ryo's rescue - even if his friends initially think Andre was trying to eat him! Andre is completely enchanted with the sweetly beautiful young man that Fate has gifted him and immediately steps in to woo his shy mate. I really loved how patient and understanding Andre is of the fears and insecurities that Ryo battles. He never tries to bulldoze him or offer placating advice but simply listens, supports, and loves him. Ryo blossoms under Andre's attention and I loved how cute and adorable he is once he has that support. This is an utterly charming story that totally captivated me and a can't wait to read the next two books in the series.

Ryo and Andre's story is a slow burn between a mouse shifter and demon. Ryo has issues to work through and with Andre patience and love there is a HEA. I really enjoyed reading Ryo and Andre story. Sweet, with PG sex scene, and low angst to work through to reach their HEA, altogether good romance. Recommend reading.

Ryo is a mouse shifter very unused to attention. He attends the opening of a new club with his three best friends. He meets his mate the demon owner of the club, is so overwhelmed he shifts. The demon shifts trying to save Ryo from being stepped on and chaos results. We have a sweet courtship and Ryo finally comes into his own. It is a short but precious story with a HEA.

Third person, multi-point of view, insta love. These are great to read to make you feel happy. Low angst. Andre is wonderful drawing Ryo out of his shell and giving him confidence. Where can I find my Andre?♥️

This is the third in this series that I have read. I love the concept and the characters in the three books I have read. What I especially appreciated about Arden Steele's contribution was there were no grammatical errors. That annoying interruption of my reading flow did not happen. I love reading about a shifter mouse. Good story. Cute situations. The main complaint I have about these stories is I wanted more. More depth. More history of the characters. Some of the characters have lived long lives yet that was never a subject they discussed. I didn't want to say goodbye to them.

Ryo was freaking adorable, I liked how Andre's quiet support gave him the confidence to be his true self. I'm looking forward to seeing the rest of guys meet their mates.

4.0 out of 5 stars Fun mm shifter romance

A demon and a mouse? Now that’s a combination that I haven’t encountered before but this fun story by Arden Steele makes the couple work. Low angst but high attraction with lots of lace and over the top sappy behavior by a demon in love. I enjoy when writers invent a world and then they all write books set in it like this series because you get very different perspectives and stories. It’s also a great way to find new to you authors in a genre that you like.

4.0 out of 5 stars Enjoyable read

This is my first book by this author, and I really enjoyed the writing style. The main characters were fun and well developed, and I loved that we got alternating POV to give that extra depth. I couldn't help but love Ryo - a mouse shifter! He was adorable in both human and mouse form, and I loved seeing him find his confidence. Andre was perfect for him - patient, supportive and considerate, and perhaps needing someone to spoil him a little too.

The only thing I found missing was a little more story development (perhaps due to the short length, but I found it didn't really have a lot of depth, it was quite light and airy) and inclusion of secondary characters. Ryo's friends were there at the start, very protective of him, and then they just disappeared out of the story completely until the epilogue. I would have liked to see them included more, and to see them accepting Andre as Ryo's mate.

I look forward to exploring more works by this author.

Believe it or not I was annoyed with Amazon when I couldn't find this book.I'm not great at being left hanging in an important part of reading and this book was that.I loved finding out the main people found themselves and I mean that in Ryos case, such a lovely person and to find he was worthy, like many of a great love that he never thought would happen 😍😍

A bit slower than the first I read, Prince Charming, but still a fun read. These shifter novels are fairly new to me and, so far, have held my attention. Also the cover models are very tidy !
