About the author

M. L. Marian has no clue what to put here. She sees other authors with really cool bios, but there's nothing cool about M. L. Marian. She's just an antisocial hermit who comes out of hiding long enough to put a book into the world and then scurries back into seclusion.
She would like to remind you, however, that kindness doesn't cost a thing (except for when it does) and loose lips sink ships. Whatever that means.

- Reviewed in the United States on January 6, 2025What an interesting take! This novella dragged me into M.L. Marian’s world of Shay men who take their wives whether they want to be with them or not. Thing is they are so sexy, strong, loving and amazing you can’t help but to love them right along with the women they’ve stolen.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 19, 2022Mitchell Shay is on the hunt for a new wife and momma for his 6-year-old son. Shay men have a tradition when it comes to getting and claiming their woman then taming them. Though he was previously married and had already claimed his woman she died a year into their son's life. Now 5 years later and his some always asking for a momma he is ready to go on the hunt again. After 3 weeks of sleeping in his truck and moving around in hopes she would show herself one day it happens. Corina is in for a surprise when the nice guy who paid for her and the kids, she was babysitting food happens upon her on the side of the road when her tire goes out. Not realizing it wasn't by chance and her life is about to change.
So, I was in a Facebook group and this book was mentioned for obsessed heroes. I am like ok I am there anything with a man obsessed I dive into and look at that it's a new author I never heard of and may just like. I dive in and the author gives you some trigger warnings still invested the storyline is intriguing to me. Thinking Romans and Sabines in modern day. A man steals his woman away never read this concept. Mitchell is completely OTT alpha obsessed with Corina the moment he sees her, but he is also super sweet and caring after all this is the way of the Shay men. Corina was sweet and scared and sad cause she thought she would never see her family but Amos the little boy is too adorable to not help her smile.
The story itself kept me hooked. I had to wait a day to think on how I was feeling because I know I will be diving into another but a part of me is having a love/hate with this book probably cause it's my first noncon and I am trying to figure out how I feel about all that. It's told only through Mitchell's POV which I kinda enjoyed seeing the workings of his mind. The scenes were steamy, and I know I want more. You do get an HEA as well. So worth the read and a new author to my never ending TBR pile.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 4, 2022I read this as the prequel to claimed. Which has its own mixed reviews. I think the book would have gone over better with her point of view and not just told from his. It was obviously OTT and suspend reality but without her point of view it just seemed absurd and he was nuts. Overall it was ok and I am going to read the next but hoping we see both sides.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 23, 2023I'm surprised that this Prequel was quite sweet actually. Ok it's not a traditional love between them, at least not for Corina but for Mitchell Shay and Amos his son it certainly is a real love. It's loosely based on the retelling of the Sabine women who we're kidnapped by the men and eventually stayed with them. This is also when Amos is young during simpler times I think. Anyway its a different captive story and has very hot and steamy scenes. There's no BDSM and he's actually very good to her. The HEA is perfect! It's an enjoyable read and well written! Enjoy💓
- Reviewed in the United States on June 23, 2023“Caught” is an age gap prequel that occurred 40 years before “Claimed” by M.L. Marian. Please read all TW/CWs. Some themes may be disturbing to others. The series is described to be loosely based on the Roman soldiers and the Sabine women. The tradition of the Shay family in “Caught” is to “Find a woman, Keep a Woman.”
Mitchell Shay lost his wife, leaving him a widower with a young son to raise. As tradition states, Mitchell seeks one out since his son Amos has also asked for a mom. In “Caught,” readers will get introduced to the OTT methods Mitchell uses, a back story of his relationship with the woman he chose, the progression of their relationship, and Amos. Amos is the focus of the story in Book 1.
Yes, “Caught” was disturbing but had sweet and funny moments. Six-year-old Amos was adorable. I wish it were a dual POV. I’m also unsure if I’m reading the books out of order or if I should have read Book 1 or the prequel first. But I enjoyed “Caught” and will continue to Amos’ story.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 9, 2024Without the females point of view we can only guess at what she was feeling. Maybe that was the plan? From the little we learn of her personality i would think she felt bad for Amos and was trying to find an out for her and him. Mitchell was just nuts. I like dub con books but this was just creepy, which is fine if thats truly the kind if book this is. I think the author was going first romance though…..maybe🧐. Writing was immature, i read as fast as i could to just be done.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good
This book holds all the kinks!
It was funny and hot at the same time. It’s a huge taboo but when the author knows how to write the right way it’s completely enjoyable.
I like it a lot.
Amos Jr melt my heart hard!!!!!!!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars WHERE IS MY SHAY MAN?
Firstly, If you won't like Mitchell, he is not the problem(Maybe you're, kidding) I am so obsessed with her writing!! And so looking forward for the book 2. The way story started to the way it ended was perfect, and knowing the second book had our baby Amos who's no more a baby but a proper shay, ahemmhmmm(time for me to be mommy from mom). To everybody who hasn't read this book, you're missing out something bigggggggg. I can't give it stars because this book was a star which shines bright enough to light the dark nights!!! I love this book and the characters and the author from the bottom of my heart, and I hope you all will be equally obsessed with her saga like I am, STOP READING MY REVIEW AND GO READ THE BOOK🔪🔪

5.0 out of 5 stars A great start
A really cute read and an interesting view in a Roman legend. I will be reading the other books in the series and can’t wait to see more if Mitchell and Corinna hopefully in Amos story.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing Prequel.
In my imagination Shay men are continuously and outrageously amazing.
I've not read a single book of this in order I just grab whatever one that I see that I'm like oh I don't think I've read this one yet but every time I pick it up I never want to put it down.
I just want to have my own Shay man, like if she could just write me one that would be really great.
I just love this book the characters were a lot of fun and they were very realistic, the only thing I would say that I would complain about was it wasn't long enough. I kind of wish that there was more story that I could get to know Corina and Mitchell better, I also would have loved to have seen a final scene of meet the parents. Or expand the book, that would be awesome.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great storyline but..
This book has a great story line but I felt that some parts of the book needed improvement..
The abducti*n scene could’ve been more detailed. The main male character Amos constantly says “there you go”- it gets quite annoying after a while, as well as Mitchell constantly calling Corina ‘woman’.
Would’ve also preferred Corina being older, 19 was just too young for me to relate to.
The sm*t scenes themselves were okay but could’ve used a lot more dialogue.
