When I got the invitation for my 15-year high school reunion, I said right then and there I wasn’t going to go. Why would I want to? I don’t have anything to prove to those people.

    This was such a cute story. I loved the characters and the writing. It is a short story so the plot goes fast but not too fast. You still get to know them and who they are. I will definitely be reading more from Ember Davis.

    Loved this story, mostly because there was so little angst, turmoil or strife but just good feels. That is not to say that it doesn’t deal with weighty issues, which it does, but does so in a cleansing palate kind of way. Neither of the main characters live in those “glory years” but have found their footing in the present and their future.

    I really enjoyed this book. Ember Davis does a great job at bringing characters together in a way that the reader can easily connect with and visualize.

    Sienna and Griffin meet up at their 15-year high school reunion. And we all know how those go. For these two, however, it is the beginning of something neither expected.

    Sienna has spent the past almost 12 years raising her daughter as a single mom and despite the trials associated with it, has not regretted a minute. Griffin has spent the last 15 years working trade and rising in skill. Neither is where their classmates thought they would end up. For some reason they both feel the need to go to this reunion. But as they see each other across the bar they realize why.

    The remainder of the book is about an evolving relationship between a single mom and man raised by a single mom who can understand how difficult it can be. It is not only between Sienna and Griffin, but Griffin and Callie and how a family of two becomes a family of three.

    This sweet feel-good book left me misty-eyed and with hope that there are many such relationships out there! Highly recommended for a quick and easy read.
