We learn how Matty sees himself and his “role” in the band and it breaks my mama heart. But I knew Aly would mend my heart back together through our heroine Britt’s love, Matty’s longtime best friend. She just has to prove to him that he’s so much more than he realizes.     Chasing Riptides is an emotional ride that I did not want to get off of. This is Matty and Britt's book. Best friends since childhood Matty and Britt have this beautiful connection. Britt has loved Matty for years and is not ready to give up on him no matter what he does. I love how she loves him through all his highs and lows, those dark days of a rocker and shows him he matters. Matty has played the part of the pretty face rocker for years. You feel the frustration he goes through as everything spirals and he wants more. You feel for Matty as everyone tries and use him and doesn't see him for who he is. You feel the love Britt has as she tries to show what she feels for Matty is different from everyone else around him. I love the courage and strength throughout this one. I love the light in the darkness as Matty and his brother come together and heal. This is such an emotional read that will have you glued to the pages. I loved this one so much.

    Matty Silva has everything. He's the rockstar, the pretty boy, the one every woman (and a few men) wants and every man wants to be. But they love an "image", the part he plays for the masses in order to survive. NO one really knows him or loves him. Well, not really. His brother Alex loves him deeply and his best friend, Britt, can see through the pain and all the smoke and mirrors and love him like no one else.

    Britt has loved Matt since the lost, scared kid from Brazil showed up in her second grade class. Everyone loves the image he puts out into the world, but she's always loved the sad, beautiful, lonely boy trapped in the gorgeous man. She understands his pain. She loves him unconditionally. All she needs is to make him understand. And to do that, he has to break the cycle of self-destruction he threw himself in. She will do anything to catch him when he falls.

    I have been wanting to read Matty's story since we met him in Falling North. He's such a beautiful broken soul that you, like Britt, can't help fall in love with. 

    It's a slow burn because Matty goes through many emotional hurdles to understand he's loved, that he deserves to be loved. To be honest, he even has to learn what love really is.

    It's emotional, it's heartbreaking and you'd expect from Aly Stiles. Beautiful! 

    Note: Again, kudos to Aly for portraying my Brazilian boys perfectly. No stereotypes, perfect Portuguese, everything! That's how you do it, folks!

    What a blast this whole series from Aly Stiles has been, especially including Hazel James in Guarding Shadows.
    In this installment, we finally learn Matty's story.
    You meet him in big brother Lex's book, Falling North and wow what a story he has to tell but never seems to form the words. Matty is the frontman, the man with the mouth and the looks. Everyone wants a piece of him except to learn his true story/emotions/fears. Sadly Matty is spiraling out of control and looking for someone to hold on to.
    Britt has been Matty's best friend and confidant since 2nd grade. She has always been his safety net, giver of hugs, shoulder to cry on. What Matty doesn't know is that he has always been The One for her.
    Are you ready for emotions, feels and all the love of these best friends?

    Flipping heck! That’s putting it mildly. What an emotional, entertaining and wonderful friends to lovers rockstar romance. The Save Me series is fast becoming one of my favourites, emotionally detached and unattainable leading men and leading ladies that have the patience of a Saint, trying to put them on the straight and narrow. Matty Silva is dealing with so many issues. Issues from his past, and issues from the here and now, issues with family and issues with deranged fans. What he doesn’t have issues with, is his forever best friend, Britt Esposito, the one person who loves him for who he is inside, she’s totally devoted, she’s not after anything, just his love. Can they overcome the mountain of problems that Matty is dealing with? I cried my little heart out, I still loved it though.

    I have mixed feelings about this one.
    Marty is a rockstar who has a traumatic childhood, he’s still running from his demons only to find he’s stuck in a destructive loop.
    Britt is his childhood best friend determined to show him his true worth .
    I enjoyed the sentiment of the story but found the internal dialogue of both characters irritating at times.
    Over all a good story
