Murder In The Choir: A humorous murder mystery (Pippa Parker Mysteries Book 2) Kindle Edition
Murder on the high Cs…
When Pippa Parker joins the village choir, she doesn’t expect anyone to die…
No-one thinks the death of a soprano is anything but a tragic accident; everyone in the choir is too busy rehearsing for SingFest UK.
With no help from the police, Pippa must investigate alone. If anyone finds out what she is up to, she risks losing both her friends and the respect of the local community. And speaking of friends, what on earth does best friend Lila see in her new man?
Murder in the Choir is the second book in the Pippa Parker humorous mystery series, set in and around the English village of Much Gadding.

Liz Hedgecock grew up in London, England, did an English degree, and then took forever to start writing. After several years working in the National Health Service, some short stories crept into the world. A few even won prizes. Then the stories started to grow longer...
Now Liz travels between the nineteenth and twenty-first centuries, murdering people. To be fair, she does usually clean up after herself.
Liz’s reimaginings of Sherlock Holmes, her Pippa Parker cozy mystery series, and the Caster & Fleet Victorian mystery series (with Paula Harmon) are available in ebook and paperback.
Liz lives in Cheshire with her husband and two sons, and when she’s not writing or child-wrangling you can usually find her reading, messing about on Twitter, or cooing over stuff in museums and art galleries. That's her story, anyway, and she's sticking to it.

Pippa Parker is looking for something different and joins the local choir. A woman 🚺 with health issues dies. Is it murder? She and her mother-in-law undercover the truth leading to the arrest of the killer.
I would recommend this series and author to 👍 readers of romantic family and friends relationships mystery novels 👍🔰. 2024
- Reviewed in the United States on April 1, 2018I love this series and the characters. The reason why I only gave 4 stars is because I find Pippa and Simons relationship a bit archaic. Pippa seems to cower to Simons demands. Although she ignores his demands she behaves as if she is afraid of him and what he might do. I always feel like they are on the verge of divorce. Who knows, maybe they are.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 29, 2017If you like cosy murder mysteries - here's a young mother who won't let two small children hamper her pursuit of justice! If you think rural life is nothing but peace and quiet, think again. Just when Pippa thinks the only thing she has to worry about is a teething baby and a son starting pre-school, her first steps to pick up a hobby outside the home uncover seething tensions, leading to more questions than answers and an unexpected death. After reading 'Murder in the Playgroup' I was eagerly awaiting the next instalment and wasn't disappointed. Half of me would like to think that Pippa can put her feet up now and settle into a peaceful routine, but I have a feeling it's not the last we'll see of this unlikely sleuth.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 15, 2019The first Pippa Parker book was a lot of fun, and the second one also delivers. Pippa now has to take care of a baby and a toddler while investigating a new murder in her community. The book has many colorful characters that keep the mystery interesting. My favorite one was Sheila, Pippa's nosy mother-in-law, who helps her in the investigation. I'm eager to start reading the next book as soon as possible!
- Reviewed in the United States on December 27, 2017Poor Pippa -- a new baby, a toddler, and no adults who understand! All she wants to do is to find a hobby that lets her get out of the house without the kids once in a while; that's not so much to ask, now, is it? Apparently it is, since joining the choir drops her right back into the depths of murder and mystery. Liz Hedgecock did a great job of presenting Simon's response and Pippa's MIL's attitude so that we can really feel her frustration and isolation! I'm already looking forward to the next installment in the series!
- Reviewed in the United States on February 5, 2018I loved the first Pippa Parker book and this sequel is even better. Although these are cozy mysteries, and I failed to pick the murderer which is always a good thing, their true magic lies in the characters, domestic complications and wonderful writing. If cozy murder mysteries are your thing, then give this book a go - it's a delight

4.0 out of 5 stars Easy-read
Another good cosy murder mystery. Pippa joins the local choir, where naturally a murder soon occurs. Now with two kids in tow, Pippa nevertheless manages to solve it. Not quite up there with the Oxford Tea-Room stories, but a good read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another excellent outing for Pippa Parker
I bought the first Pippa Parker mystery (Murder at the Playgroup) on a whim and whizzed through it. I devoured this second instalment in one sitting and I’m about to start the third one. Great plots but what really hooks me is the characterisation. Even Sheila is growing on me!
