Choosing Me (Studio C Book 3) Kindle Edition

4.6 out of 5 stars 65 ratings

Calvin’s not looking for an alpha. But if he was, he’d be looking for someone like Wilson.

Calvin isn’t a stereotypical omega. He doesn’t want pups, doesn’t want to be tied down, and for sure, isn’t looking for a mate. He might play the docile omega on screen at Studio C but outside of work he wants to be in charge, and have a little fun. Who better to have fun with than the hot alpha security guard?

When Calvin asks Wilson to his apartment for dinner, he’s expecting a date. What he gets instead is a friends with benefits arrangement that starts off fun but quickly becomes messy when Wilson develops feelings. Can Calvin rethink his stance on relationships? Or will Wilson’s feelings scare Calvin away?

Choosing Me is book three in the Studio C series featuring friends with benefits, a dominant omega, and two internet famous cats. Though this 30k story does NOT contain mpreg, you’ll find silly moments, heated scenes, found family, and of course, a happily ever after.

Toby Wise is a stay at home parent who hails from a tiny town in Wisconsin. Contrary to popular Wisconsin stereotypes, he’s not a cheese-head who loves football but rather an introvert who spends all his time on the internet, drinking coffee, spending time with his kid, and cooing about his adorable cat, Pikachu.

In April of 2019, A Collection of Strays was born after the world of fanfiction drew him back into his love of writing. Now he’s writing all things omegaverse as long as it includes silly moments and found family.

Wilson is such a gem! The dynamic is f dominant/submissive was so damn refreshing I could read this book over and over!

Choosing Me is the 3rd book in the Studio C series by Toby Wise.. Calvin is a performer at the adult studio who leaves his real personality behind during his scenes to play the stereotypical Omega. In his real life he is anything but typical. He lives far outside the routine expectations of what an Omega wants and isn’t willing to be tied down. Enter Wilson, an Alpha who has crushed on Calvin for a long time. When Calvin invites Wilson to dinner, there is a slight misunderstanding of what he is inviting Wilson over for. They enter a “friends with benefits” situation that quickly evolves into so much more. Will Calvin realize that you don’t have to lose yourself when you find someone who fits perfectly with you and that not everyone will try to change you? Will Wilson have his heart broken because Calvin just can’t believe that he’s loved for who he is? I really enjoyed this quick read that shows us that there is that one special person out there for everyone, sometimes you just have to open your eyes and your heart to the possibilities!

    volutary review of arc
Choosing Me by author Toby Wise is the third book in the Studio C series. This book doesn’t need to be read in order to completely get this storyline. This story is written in dual POV one of my favorites. I like getting into the minds of both characters.

Calvin he is not looking for an Alpha, he doesn’t want kids. He wants a good time. Being tied down isn’t his thing.

I liked the many layers of Calvin. He is much more than even he thinks he is.

Wilson hot Alpha security guard. He is looking for friends with benefits.

He is a good soul just finding what he needs in life.

I liked the humor in this story. I also liked the chemistry. Kept me turning the pages and wanting more.

I found this story to be a great addition to the Studio C series and cannot wait for more from this series in the future.

Calvin and Wilson are, separately and together, a total breath of fresh air. I loved how fierce Calvin is in his pursuit of what he wants-- whether that’s his career, his education, or being free to be himself. I loved how chill Wilson is, and how intuitive: his cats are adorable, his personality is sweeter than anything, but he’s no pushover, and he and Calvin are really well matched. Watching them figure that out was sometimes hot, sometimes funny, and sometimes a little frustrating, but it ends in the best possible way, with an HEA that suits them both. I really enjoyed this story and the world it’s set in-- the idea of an a/b/o universe in which everyone has different scents and people who are compatible make good scent combinations was an adorable quirk: somehow the fact that together Calvin and Wilson smell like blueberry muffins just makes them that much better as a couple.

*I received an ARC of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Toby has finally written a character that I hate. Maybe hate is too strong of a word, but man did I not like Calvin at all.

On the other hand, I loved Wilson. He's such a sweet Alpha. I sobbed for him when Calvin left. I really connected to his character and really feel like he deserved someone better than Calvin.

I enjoyed the intimate scenes and I'm glad Calvin's brother finally knocked some sense into him.

A quick read, with just a little angst, an Alpha who can submit and famous cats.

I'm loving this series and can't wait for the next one.

I absolutely have loved this series so far and Calvin and Wilson are one of the cutest couples! I love how fun Calvin. Both Calvin and Wilson are nicely flushed out and I enjoyed Wilson being an Alpha who not only is ok with but likes the dominant side of Calvin. It's a nice little flip of the script that we don't see too often and it's done so sweetly in this one. Toby has made some memorable characters with Studio C and while you don't have to read the ones before to understand this story, you should because they are super feel good quick stories. This one in particular was such a breath of fresh air and perfect way to lift my spirts with it's sweetness. It's low angst and hot in all the right places!

Starting by getting to know Calvin, finding out he was a sweet submissive omega in his job in porn, then learning he would never be that typical omega in his private life, put a very interesting twist on this story. I love it when a book offers such surprises. When Calvin decides to ask the studio guard, Wilson, to join him for dinner, Wilson is overwhelmed. He has admired Calvin from the first time he came to the studio and now he has a chance to date the man of his dreams. Wilson is an alpha, big and muscular, but also kind and gentle. He is disappointed when the 'date' turns out to be a friends with benefits offer, but he wants Calvin so much he accepts.

The author makes this quick read easy to follow and impossible not to fall in love with these characters who seem to be made for one another. I received an ARC and this is my honest review.

    **ARC Review**

OMG!! Loved this. It was fun, entertaining, HOT and romantic. Wilson and Calvin was the perfect alpha/omega. Loved Calvin dominant side and Wilson was the absolute perfect alpha in his submission. Along with it being fun, I did get emotional a few times. The guys was on board with friends with benefits but their connection was so strong, feelings got totally involved. When realization hit, oh well, the sniffles came out...LOL. I'm so enjoying this series and can't wait til the next book come out.

MM, Alpha Omega, romance. Calvin is an Omega with a difference, he's determined to remain himself and be independent. Wilson is an Alpha, he's a security guard at the studio and they've both noticed each other and been lightly flirting for a while. Low angst, high heat sweet romance. Easy to read page-turner with a HEA. Although part of a series in my opinion it reads ok as a stand-alone.
