When the system that time forgot suddenly shows back up...

The Cipher ran the universe with its game-like rules, and it has chosen Cullen, an exiled bounty hunter, to be the method of its return.

He's given a quest to free a telepathic mother and son from wrongful imprisonment. If he can break his targets out of prison, they'll have to level up, learn new skills, and hunt down the prophecy's clues. All while facing down berserkers and EMP-hurling tigers, in a jungle that offers no succor.

The promised reward is that the Cipher will grant access and the associated power to all of his embattled people, turning the tide in the galactic war that's ravaging the cosmos.

Cipher's Quest is a LitRPG Science-Fantasy mashup that answers the question, "What if we took Stargate and added Final Fantasy and Age of Empires?"

The race for Resurrection City begins with an earthquake, a rare class, and a portal to the Spirit Realm.

In the aftermath of waking the game system known as the Cipher, the newly-minted council of eleven must learn to wage war with new skills in a world that’s been cut in half.

It's a race against time and new enemies to fulfill prophecy and activate the first Rune they need to survive.

Because the alien Osuna are coming, and scripture says that only the Runelords will stand a chance when they arrive.

Can Cullen's party find the Spirit Realm’s buried city that houses the dangerous and necessary Rune? And what sort of terrible fate awaits the unprepared?

The price they paid to find this city won’t come close to the cost it takes to build it.

The Cipher has rewarded Cullen with XP to distribute across areas of Resurrection City, from military to defense, economy and more, but he'll need so much more than that to protect his people. And he must do it while negotiating treaties with invaluable allies and fighting off sorcerers, mobs, and the dungeon core growing up out of their backyard.

The galaxy-spanning Osuna have seen the city’s power from beyond the stars, and are now on their way to claim it for themselves.

Cullen’s job is to build this city before they get there, because if he doesn’t, only slavery and genocide await.

Will he meet the challenge, or let his people’s greatest hope die in a valley somewhere deep in the Spirit Realm?

Epic quests require epic responsibilities.

The activation of the runes has the Osuna fleet mobilizing. They’re closing in, and thanks to a new class acquisition, the timeline to Judgment Day has sped up.

After thousands of years in hiding, Governor Cullen refuses to believe the Cipher chose him just to watch his people lose everything.

He races the clock to find and destroy the portal with the greatest loot. Problem is, every portal he opens cuts down his time to prepare.

With his people’s future on the line, Cullen’s up against a war on two fronts—from the streets to the mystical beyond.

And if he fails, the Osuna will overwhelm both realms and eradicate any who won’t bow their knee.

Cullen can’t let that happen. The Cipher’s powers demand to be flexed.

This is their age.

Tim Kaiver is an old-school gamer who writes Sci-Fi/Fantasy LitRPG. His Ciphercraft series starts out as a mix of Stargate and Final Fantasy and gets crunchier with LitRPG goodness as the series evolves into city-building and planetary defense.

His next series, Badges of Dorkdom, was published through Aethon Books under his pen name, Theo Hodges. Book one, Dreadlord Wizard is a humorous dark fantasy ode to his love of Raistlin in Dragonlance, if Raistlin was an 18-year-old dork who got sucked into a real MMORPG with the fate of worlds in the balance. You know, almost exactly like Dragonlance, lol.
