Circles of Deception: A Paranormal Mystery Novel Kindle Edition
The enormous geometric designs have appeared in fields around the world for over thirty years. Novelist Risa McKensie plans to write about the fantastic works of art. When her intent becomes known, she receives an anonymous warning to drop the project. She can't imagine why. Because a fiction book might become a bestseller and draw attention to the circle phenomena? Who would care? Clearly, when the warnings multiply, more than one group.
Risa meets a group of intellectual Artists who claim they make the formations using mental energy. Despite the escalation of the threats, she discounts the Artists' advice that The Meridians--a powerful consortium that thrives on war and chaos--are the ones she should most fear. Why would a novel about crop circles concern them?

- Reviewed in the United States on February 20, 2014This is a very good book with a creative premise. I love Ms. Evlin's wonderful way with words. The story is thought provoking but never dry. I was intrigued until the very end. I've already shared it with friends.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 7, 2014Have you ever wondered where those intricate crop circles come from? Frances Evlin explores that idea in this novel and does a great job of keeping us entertained, intrigued and turning pages!
- Reviewed in the United States on December 18, 2013In Frances Evlin’s latest novel, “Circles of Deception”, Children’s book author Risa McKensie, while driving, suddenly becomes aware that a man is about to jump off a bridge. She reports it to 911, but is unable to explain, even to herself, how she knew the man was suicidal.
This opening scene in Evlin’s paranormal suspense novel draws you into her story of psychics and the phenomenon of crop circles.
Risa McKensie has been interested in the phenomena for a few years, so when an intricate crop circle appears in Eastern Washington not far from where she lives, she is determined to visit the site and perhaps write a fiction novel about them.
In her earlier research, Risa has found that some crop circles were faked, but there was no explanation of how others had been created, and somehow she can sense which are genuine.
Does she have some psychic sense? In investigating the local crop circle she meets people with extraordinary powers who are involved in their creation. She also finds that someone or some group does not want the crop circle phenomenon to be written about.
Circles of Deception is a well-written and exciting Paranormal Suspense. Are crop circles all faked by some guys pulling a board around a wheat field? Are some faked but others real phenomena? Someone doesn’t want those questions answered and will use any means to stop Risa from writing about them.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 26, 2013This book explores just one of the many possibilities about the creation of crop circles. I have been interested in crop circles for a very long time, and have even walked in one.
Ms Evlin approaches the topic of crop circles from a different perspective than any I had thought of. I'll be the first to admit that I can't believe these fabulous designs are created by people tromping about in a field under cover of dark. Then again, I've always held a belief about life beyond this Earth and solar system.
I found the book entertaining and thought provoking. Especially the part about the government involvement. An easy read, but satisfying.
