    Emerson is feeling vulnerable after his boyfriend discovered him watching shifter porn and threw him out. So what does Em do? He finds a populer shifter bar and gets very drunk. So drunk that he gets himself in trouble with the lion shifters. King owns the bar/dance club. Whe he looks out and sees a vulnerable human, he immediatly jumps into protective mod. But one whiff of Emerson and King knows his whole life is about to change. This was truly a well written, developed gay shifter romance. I loved Emerson and King together. You could just feel the connection clearly as you read the story. There is plenty of drama from the other shifter groups. Plus the bonus of King's younger brothers. I can't wait to read Storm and Jax's story next. This is a great start to this series!

    I really liked this book and the author's writing was easy to get sucked into. I had a hard time putting it down, and honestly would have finished it in one night if sleep was a requirement. Having said this i unfortunately have to only give it 4.5 stars instead of 5 because as a person who loves reading D/s books I felt like this was a bit forced in the beginning. Emerson came into this with only fantasies about what he wanted. I felt there should have been a little more time spent on introducing him to what he really wanted/needed and the life style. Other then that it was a nice short read, def worth reading.

    This is my first read of Silvia's work and I am a fan! I got lost in the fantasy and romance. I would have liked some of the dom scenes to go on a bit longer; seemed like the knot came and went too quickly. But King's hot dialogue made up for it. I also thought Emerson's explanations of what a sub needs from a Dom was beautiful articulate and spot on.

    I fell in love with Emerson from the beginning. He needed someone, and King needed it too. I also liked how straightforward Emerson were. However, small parts of the story left me with questions. For an example, why wasn't Leon's death on screen? I felt as the author built up huge suspense, but when they came to the hideout, there was like... Nothing. Also, I didn't like how King didn't have any difficulties fighting a full grown lion. Even an alpha wolf would defiantly lose that battle, and I get that he is like more strong, but still. I'd liked a bit more tension in the battles. The book lacked some of the depth I searched for, and the bite at the end felt a bit rushed and I'd liked more of the "we belong together" feeling. Overall a nice read, but I wouldn't pick the book up again, or dwell anymore on the author's books.

    Emerson is a human that has a fantasy but he quickly finds out more comes with that when he meets King.

    I liked the D/s relationship though I wish I could have seen alittle bit more of it. Emerson came in with ideas and they just jumped into the deep end. I also missed out on the big fight scene, I think we all wants that death and then it happened off the pages which was a bit of a let down. I loved seeing the family that surrounded them and I'm can't wait to read the brothers stories.

    Silvia Violet has become a automatic read for me - her books are well-developed, and sexy as hell. The story focuses on a human (Emerson) and wolf (King) paired with strong D/s elements. Emerson has just lost his job and finished a relationshop, and ends up in a shifter-only club and needs rescuing; the club belongs to King who quickly realizes that not only is Emerson where he shouldnt be, but he is also his mate. King fights the attraction at first as he believes Emerson will not be able to handle how rough King likes to play combined with his shifter strength, but ultimately realizes the mate bond cannot be ignored. While navigating their new relationship, King must also deal with external forces trying to take both his mate and his power. What makes this book exceptional are the scenes between Emerson and King. While Emerson stands up for himself and their relationship, he gives full control to King in the bedroom. King is dominearing, possessive, and has a fantastic ability at dirty talk which Silvia Violet writes SO well. The only reason I dont give this book 5 stars is I wish Emerson had a bit more backstory and development; we really know very little about who he was prior to meeting King. This made it a little hard for me to connect with him. In total a great book, and I look forward to more in the series!
