    I found this book to be a bit lackluster. Everything was rushed. I can buy into the fated mate insta-love thing, but Kyle being so trusting and sure that Tate will be a good alpha the morning after they meet just wasn't believable. Then they fixed up a huge house and barn, built several pieces of furniture, created a pack on a whim, and started recruiting members to that pack all in a single week.

    I didn't understand why Tate insisted on waiting to consummate their mating until Kyle was in heat, such that it would be less about consent and more about instinct, but that was somehow more respectful and romantic. Then, when the heart did start, they were somehow able to prevent mating for hours and only Kyle's mother picked up on the fact that Kyle's scent had changed.

    There was no character growth for anyone in this book and no life lessons were learned. Lucas was a bogey man in the story, but we never knew why he was attacking, or how he got so many people to follow him considering how freely he sacrificed the members of his pack.

    Overall, this felt more like the outline, or Cliff's Notes version, of a story than an actual fully developed narrative.

    I love fated mates so this was automatically a good book for me. I really liked Kyle. He was sweet. Tate was the protective alpha I wanted him to be. I liked how Tate saved Kyle and cared for him. And I liked how they started their own pack. It did bother me though that once he brought Kyle home, Tate never went back to work and they suddenly had the ability to do all kinds of renovations. It seemed out of place. I also found it strange that Kyle was able to entertain his mother while he was in heat.

    I do think this is a good start to the series and will definitely check out future books.

    I read and voluntarily reviewed an arc copy of this story. Tate and Kyle’s story is heart stoppingly unique. This is the first I’ve read by this author and I cannot wait for more. Tate is an alpha working as a bouncer and has no pack. Kyle is an omega running from hunters with a scent that pulls Tate in. I loved reading this.

The characters were interesting, and well defined, plus I appreciated the way the two main characters knew that they were mates as soon as Tate saved Kyle from being attacked. Kyle's mother was pretty awesome also. I've already read, Kitchi's story (the fox), so I'm thinking about reading more in that series also. Very enchanting books. =)

    Kyle's Mom tells him, he needs to go out to find a mate, so he does but he gets trapped by a group of wolves. They grab him and he screams. Tate hears and rushes to help. When he finds Kyle, he knows he is his mate and Kyle knows Tate is his. Together they bring a pack together but must fight the wolves that tried to take Kyle. Awesome read. Lots of action and fun to read.
