Class Studies: The Thorns of Charbon Institute Kindle Edition

4.5 out of 5 stars 162 ratings

A terrifying mix of drugs, fear and pure need forced my hand. I didn’t necessarily want to mind control the Magical Authorities auditing the Charbon Institute’s broken system. But they kept me from my mages and hurt the people they should’ve protected.

Now I have to live with the consequences of my actions.

Operation DUMP has to free me from my magic’s lust-filled need so I can remove my dark stain from the people trapped in my spell before I drag the men I love down with me.

With a new recruiter stirring up trouble in the student body, I must find myself and the confidence to claim my path before the Institute is ripped apart.

Class Studies is a fast burn, reverse harem, dark bully romance with M/M/F and M/F themes. The trilogy is a college-age academy setting, 18+. All three books are written and complete the story. Please be aware there may be triggers, see inside of book for the list.

Oh I liked this series a lot! There's a lot if twists and turns but man oh man was it a great wild ride to be on! I adored it!

Messick has finished her series with a swirl of magic and whole lot of growth for Aphrodite! This conclusion was worth the wait. I enjoyed this series. The characters grew and changed. The plot was solid from first book to the last word! Messick created a unique world of magic and took her characters - particularly Aphrodite - from flat one dimensional meant for one thing only to fully fledged real people who struggled with morality, love, and grief. I cannot wait to see what else Messick publishes!

This series kept me guessing from start to finish. I wasn’t sure where the book was going to go next and honestly not sure who was going to make up her harem at times. The story was amazing and kept me interested, I couldn’t put it down. I’m glad I got to binge read them at once because I would have been mad having to wait on the next book to come out.

This one was kind of confusing. So much going on but nothing was really ever explained. But everyone got their happy ending.

I was on the edge of my seat the whole time reading this last book! I was so enthralled and couldn’t put it down. It’s an amazing third book in the trilogy and I thought it ended well. So excited to read more from this author in the future.

This is the final book in the Charbon Institue and it ended with a cute little HEA. I am not going to lie because I struggled with reading this book (took me 3/4 days to read). I love the concept and of course Dot/Aphy/A's journey. At first, I did not like all the different names she had, but saw it kind of as an endearment at the end since everyone of her guys called her something different. We did get introduced to some new characters and the final member was added to her harem. This story felt like it was completed and that there really wasn't anything left hanging. I think add on's can be done, but not necessary. You get a lot of fun sexy time with and without the group, the burn did not fizzle or burn out here!
I am not a fan when a character is "added" in the last book and ends up being the "evil villain" to defeat. I think that more of his story was almost needed because a lot of it did not make sense and got lost in the translation of all the other parts of the book. I do feel like some of that has happened with each book in this series...but one I let go because I enjoyed the different premise so much.
I will look out for more of Kates book in the future because this was such a unique series and I cannot wait to see what she comes out with next.

I read this whole series in 2 days. Not gonna lie, at first I was iffy during book 1 but I'm glad I stuck it out. I love the strength Aphrodite has. Her harem... let's just say I wish it were mine 😏
