4.4 4.4 out of 5 stars 880 ratings

“Together, Ayna… Together, we’re eternal.”

Trading one prison for another, one kingdom for the next—there’s no escape for Ayna.

Myron is free, but freedom comes at steep cost.

Back in Erina’s gilded prison, Ayna has one goal: escape. But with the King of Tavras holding her captive and her sister’s sacrifice keeping her from running, she’s forced to play a dangerous game. If she fails to outmaneuver Erina, she'll never break free. But waiting for Myron to return might risk everything they’ve fought for.

As long as Myron remains free, there’s still hope.

While Ayna fights to stay strong, Myron is racing to save what’s left of his court. With the help of a fairy princess and an Askarean general, he prepares for the looming threat of Tavras, armed with magic-suppressing weapons. But Tavras isn’t the only enemy. The Flames still seek revenge, and without a powerful ally, Myron’s court is doomed. An ancient enemy might just be the ally he needs.

Packed with sizzling romance, intrigue, and high-stake battles, Claws of Death is the heart-pounding third book in the epic romantic fantasy series, Wings of Ink, perfect for fans of A Court of Thorns and Roses, Quicksilver, and From Blood and Ash.

The Wings of Ink series is part of the Alcunaire!

The Thrilling Adventure Continues...
CLAWS OF DEATH by Angelina J. Steffort(Wings of Ink Series – Book 3)If a black cloud could hover over a character, that character would be Ayna!In Claws of Death, the third installment in the Wings of Ink series by Angelina J. Steffort, our Ayna has gone and gotten herself in more trouble. While her beloved King Myron is free, Ayna is locked away with only one purpose in life – to escape. Unfortunately, her captor, King Erina of Tavras is set on capitalizing on her true identity, marrying her and forcing her to be his queen. Ayna’s only hope is Myron – who has his hands full trying to salvage what’s left of his court and Kingdom, while trying to figure out who he can trust and how to beat his enemies.Teaming up with new allies, beating insurmountable odds, overcoming unexpected magic and dealing with unfair gods, our favorite King and Queen truly have their hands full. And the evil characters are just as plentiful in this story. For as much as you love Ayna and Myron, you will feel nothing but disgust for Ephegos and King Erina. Balance of good and evil is well maintained throughout the story, but the happy ending is never quite achieved. The quick pace of this story is dotted with grueling battles where no one fights fairly! And do we need to talk about surprises? This story has some interesting twists and turns throughout – Especially the ending!!!!!!Book 4 – Where For Art Tho!!!!!!Favorite Quote – “You think too much, Ayna. We all would have been better off if only you were nothing more than a pretty face.”World Building – Easy to understand, the world building needs no guidance or mapping.Plot – Ongoing battle between good and evil, with a bit of ancient magic thrown in to mix everything up!Spice Level – 🌶 🌶 – The tasteful displays of love, care and adoration are not overly smutty.Tropes – Unexpected Pasts, Lost and Found Love, Deception, TortureFavorite Parts – I love the main characters, but I’m intrigued by the author’s use of the secondary characters to support and bridge the action. Herinor is so complex a character, he could have a story just about his life and adventures!

Not the best at writing reviews but here goes...

    What a roller coaster ride!

I like the characters and the banter between them no matter what their relationships are, good or bad. The story line itself was up and down. Action packed then not much happening to action and something unexpected happening and repeating itself. I felt like some parts took too long to move on turning anticipation into boredom for a lil bit. I did enjoy learning more about some of the side characters' pasts.

So many love connections! Myron and Anya's souls are so intertwined that the world falls away when they are in proximity and the spice between them 🔥🥵 Angst between some others denying the connection or some hinting at possible other mate bonds have me anticipating the next book just to see if I was right! Getting to know some others who are already bonded was 🥰

The ending was definitely shocking 😲. I expected it at the last minute but was still totally in shock when it happened.

I am so very ready for the next book!!!!

I have completed all 3 available titles in this series. Some of the plots are age old, I’m thinking a compilation of fairy tales. I won’t name or list them because I don’t want to provide “spoiler” details. I will read the remaining novel(s) when published—I’m no quitter.

This series gives you all the feels!
    Great characters and storyline.
The only thing that I would change is the cliffhangers. When you have to wait for 6 months for the next installment…it makes it tough.

Man this book series has more feeling all the things. I have laughed, cried, and screamed with them. From the first book I was enthralled. Myron, oh sweet Crow King, he talks such beautiful words that I swoon just as hard as Ayna.

I really like this story and all the characters, but I find myself frustrated with the 3rd book. Anya is this all powerful queen of 2 kingdoms, but she still doesn't use her power because she can't control it lest she kill everyone in the vicinity including her friends. She's had so many opportunities to be trained, but she wasted those opportunities by making love to her mate over and over again. They are in the midst of war and this is how a queen prioritizes? She keeps getting outsmarted and caught again and again. It's more of the same and I'm about done!

This book was both super slow and super fast at the same time. I had a harder time connecting with the fmc and mmc but I love love loved the side characters. Some of the story felt disjointed a little and the spicy scenes seemed at the weirdest times. I’ll read book 4 because I want to know what happens. But this isn’t like my favorite series. It’s good, not great but it’s good.

Book 3 was amazing as the previous 2 in this series. Its a rollercoaster and getting to know all the characters more deeply so good. I really loved it can cannot wait until next two books come, I re-read them often. So many layers to this story it could go on for a long time. Much love the the author for bringing us suspense, love, family.

This book had me on edge the entire time! Best out of the series so far. Lots more depth added to Myron and Ayna's relationship and tons of political and war intrigue added. Desperate for the rest of the story now after that cliffhanger of an ending!

Consigliato per chi ama dark fantasy come From Blood and Ash!
