About the author

Hunter Holmes is a multi-genre author. His books are meant to spread awareness and enlightenment about alternative lifestyles that have been misunderstood and misconstrued by books and television. The stories themselves are fictional, but he gives you a real-life peek into a beautiful world that is so rarely described. Readers that have experienced this lifestyle will certainly relate to the to the structure and growth of his individual characters, readers that have limited to no knowledge about this way of living, may be shocked or intrigued by the things they relate too, or perhaps even fantasize about. I encourage you to follow this author and give yourself a chance to discover something new within yourself.

- Reviewed in the United States on November 8, 2020Format: KindleVerified PurchaseGetting to witness the development of Cage from childhood into adulthood, dealing with bullies, and craving the approval of his father felt very familiar for me. I went through and abundance of emotions I wasn't altogether ready for reading this book, because although it was not what I was expecting, it was so much more!
Then when he brought in his loveable sidekick Rockman(loved their friendship!) and Tamara and Nessa and the introduction of the BDSM lifestyle, and I was drawn in even more. I knew very little about that lifestyle, and although a few things made me cringe, not all people's kink is the same. And the dynamic that developed with the three of them became a caring and loving relationship that was also a new twist for me, as I had never read about a MFF poly relationship before, but Hunter Holmes does such an amazing job in describing the details and things that people new to the ls wouldn't get, that it just made me more curious. All the characters were well developed, but he left you with questions. But that just means there is more to come!
- Reviewed in the United States on May 30, 2020Format: KindleVerified PurchaseI knew I would love this book just from the preview but nothing prepared me for what I read. I loved getting to know and grow with Cage. His relationship with Tamara and Nessa is so special and you could really feel that when reading this. The real life things that take place only make this book that much better. There were many unexpected things that happened and the emotional rollercoaster ride was so worth it! It's so well written it's easy to get pulled in and feel like you're part of what's happening. I loved this book and I'm looking forward to book 2!
- Reviewed in the United States on November 6, 2020Format: KindleVerified PurchaseI was unsure if I would enjoy the book, however I quickly fell in love with the characters and the powerful dynamic between all of them. I most particularly enjoyed the relationship between Cage and his quirky sidekick Rockman. There are some heart wrenching moments in the book that at one point brought me to tears. The way the book was written felt to me like it was based on actual events.
I thoroughly enjoyed this and I am looking forward to more in this series.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 26, 2021Format: KindleVerified PurchaseI really liked the story and had a hard time putting it down. I had expected it to contain a lot more sexual activity based on other reviews. The only thing that bothered me and lost a star was that 99% of the book was narrative from Cage's point of view. It still had enough of an impact that the ending still affected me emotionally and that is a good way to end a story.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 16, 2020Format: KindleVerified PurchaseThis author was new to me so I went into the book blind. Within the first few pages, I was already in protective mode for this character. The author brought these people and their struggles, loss and love to life. I very rarely get caught unaware with a book, but the author managed to pull off a huge twist. It was a wild roller coaster of a ride and I can’t wait to read more from this author and his characters.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 1, 2020Format: KindleVerified PurchaseCage starts out as a young boy being bullied. He starts learning how to defend himself. After highschool he enlisted in the Marines. After basic training he meets Tamara at a bonfire party, they hit it off. When he gets assigned to base, he runs into Rockman ( a friend from basic training) and then bumps into Tamara and Nessa at the NCO club. That's all I'm giving away. Great first book Hunter.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 23, 2020Format: KindleVerified PurchaseThis book captured my attention from the first chapter. The school thing resonated with me because I had an issue in middle school also. This is a journey into a life so many have and do not speak of. The ups and downs of military life and death. The love story is one of beauty and adoration in which everyone hopes to have for a life time. I will definitely need another book! 🐥
- Reviewed in the United States on May 26, 2020Format: KindleVerified PurchaseThis book wasn't what I was expecting after reading the Preview to the Prospect. The book is ok but it had to many different stories trying to take place and a lot of information was left out to make the story flow. The story starts out really good and grabs your attention, but by it didn't take long for it to take a turn for the worst.
Cage starts out a great character - getting bullied at school, then learns to defend himself, gains his dads approval and joins the military. He meets Tamara and they have a good time. Later he sees Tamara again this time she is with Nessa and the story starts going in all different directions.
Tamara and Nessa have some pull in the military but we never find out how and the BDSM part of the story picks up. Which would have been fine is Cage actually acted like a Dom and the girls subs. But the interaction between them just didn't fit. Also some people may like it but I don't and that is drinking urine- that turned me off but I thought ok one scene - but that wasn't the case - over and over that scene played out. So you go from a military story, add BDSM and basically forget the military story to having a sex story and ending with Cage buying a Harley and possible joining an MC.
The characters needed to be better developed so the reader knows what makes them who they are. Cage needed to be more of an alpha - he does not act like a man that had been in the military and at times acted immature. Meagan just slides in there and no one knows the deal with Tamara and Nessa.
This book leaves a lot of unanswered questions and the ending is just weird.

5.0 out of 5 stars An incredible debut
Format: KindleVerified PurchaseI wasn’t sure what to expect from this debut novel but I started reading and was hooked from the beginning. I didn’t put it down once I started. Hunter has a way with words that go beyond story telling. Watching Cage develop beyond a bullied young man and start to form his relationships was incredible. It was an informative and emotional ride. I’m looking forward to the rest of the story.

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant Debut
Format: KindleVerified PurchaseI wasn't sure what to expect but I loved getting to know Cage from his childhood to adulthood, it was emotional. I was a bit open mouthed to start of with, with regards to Cages relationship between Tamera and Nessa but as the book progresses I learnt new things about a lifestyle I knew nothing about. It was also emotional so have tissues at the ready. Brilliant book Hunter Holmes 🙂❤

3.0 out of 5 stars Meh!
Format: KindleVerified PurchaseI wanted to like it more than I actually did...The story seemed a bit wishy washy to and the wording a little stilted but as a first book I understand.
I liked how it started the bullying becoming closer to his dad but then the story slipped...He joined the military and met Tamara and Nessa and then a whole lot of not very believable bdsm started and why did those two girl have such pull with the military..Then seemingly out of nowhere Meagan slides in...I guess I need things to be answered along the way and not too many things thrown in to the mix..
