Coming Home: A Christmas Romance (Christmas at Club Solitaire Book 1) Kindle Edition

4.5 out of 5 stars 152 ratings

David and Emily Eastman are back! Enjoy this Christmas Romance with the couple that kicked off all the fun and adventure at Club Solitaire.

When David Eastman was declared cancer free, he dove head first into resuming his role as CEO of his company. What he failed to realize is that his wife, Emily felt left behind as she struggled to find her place in the world.

Emily has been taking care of someone her entire adult life. First, her terminally ill brother, and then David. Now that he's in remission and she's not in fear of losing him, she is unsure of where she fits in the world. So she throws herself into a graduate degree.

Now the couple are overworked and under-romanced and they just might need an intervention to get them back on the right track.

A trip down memory lane reminds them to cling to the home they made at Solitaire, and a natural disaster just might force them to stay there a little longer than they'd planned this holiday season.

Ivy Nelson writes delicious contemporary romance with kinky sassy heroines you wish could be your best friend. Club Solitaire is her favorite fictional place to hang out in, and she spends most of her free time spinning tales set there and in spinoff clubs like Solitaire Mansion.

Ivy is an active member of the kink community and strives to write authentic kink while still meeting reader expectations. Above all else, Ivy writes characters she loves and puts them into worlds she would want to live in. That means sassy, kick-ass women, and protective partners who know when to step in and when to step back.

Ivy currently lives in Las Vegas with her husband of eight years and their son. She loves walking the Las Vegas strip with a margarita, binge watching Criminal Minds for glimpses of Shemar Moore's bare chest, and getting emails from readers. When she isn’t writing, she’s probably reading something dirty or asking her closest readers what that side-character's name was because they remember better than she does.

    5++ stars

Emily, David's submissive and wife went from caring for her brother for many many years and she suffered through his illness. After Tristan's passing, David and she plan on a relationship and a life. But they get the news that David has cancer and it is critical that he could die. So he makes his plan.
Coming Home is a great reintroduction to David and Emily's story. David is in cancer remission and Emily is continuing with her schooling going for a master's degree and then working toward a PhD.
Unfortunately they both get wrapped up in their individual work and lose sight of continuing with their Dom/sub relationship.  Luckily for them they have friends/family that love them so much and are happy to have David back that they bring to light to David that he is neglecting what he has to work towards keeping his Dominant nature and his submissive.
After receiving an eye opener and reminder from Elijah, David works toward making his return to Solitaire and the Solitaire family and festivities.  It is so sweet seeing how David goes to the extremes for Christmas and all the decorating. Plus all his sexiness and dominance all well loved. Emily has missed her dom and extended family at Solitaire. She is happy there.  David reaffirms to Emily that Solitaire will be visited by them as often as possible.  Such a great lead in to the trilogy.  Totally loved the dirty Santa game played by the board members and select few. Hilarious.
A snowstorm could bring some interesting things for Marissa.  That's where Coming Home is left at so waiting for Past and Present the next book.  Can't wait!  Ivy Nelson has continued with the wonderful books in writing this trilogy.  Definitely recommend along with the Diamond Doms series.  Love, love love.

I received an ARC of this book, also purchased book and am volunteering to leave an honest review.

Be sure to be reading the Diamond series before you read these. Than you’ll love catching up with old friends

It was a partial cliff hangar, otherwise it would have been five stars. I think these books are part of an interconnected story. I am enjoying it and will continue to read all the books.

This is a short, sexy as hell, story. I totally enjoyed the way it was written. Impatiently, now, waiting for the other two books. They are not a must to understand this one. They are a must because Ivy Nelson wrote them and they all go together.
I received this book free (ARC) for a honest review.

A man who loves Christmas too much and a woman who can't get excited. They let their everyday lives interfere with their dynamic and their relationship suffered. Emily needs a reminder to communicate better and David needs a reminder that Emily and their love come first. Club Solitaire is what they've needed all along. Oh, and they bring a mutual friend going through a rough patch. Is the Club where she will get the help she needs?

I received a copy and am leaving my voluntary and honest review.

It was nice to see David and Emily again. They’ve been too busy lately with their respective lives, but they reconnect and are as committed and attracted to each other as they ever were. The chemistry is awesome. I really enjoyed this short, steamy story. I received a free copy of this book from the author and this is my honest review

This was an emotional heartwarming coming home story. I loved how ‘the original’ is coming home to Solitaire and not only that but also to Emily. Between David having cancer to Emily’s schooling they haven’t had much time for each other much less their lifestyle. But all that changes in this story.

A chance to revisit David and Emily's story, while also getting to spend time with the rest of the crew at Solitaire ~ what's not to love? I loved how this story tackled in part the importance of putting time and effort into your relationship, whatever the dynamic but even more so when it's D/S. And the build up to Christmas party is fabulous, Ivy Nelson is the Mistress of developing characters, so that her audience falls in love with them. The Doms are hot and the subs are sassy, each special and unique. The only criticism I have is that it was over too soon, I wanted it to go on for much longer. But on a positive note, there's the rest of the series of Christmas stories to devour

A wonderful catch up on David and Emily after the traumatic time they have had it's time for them to spend time on themselves. I love how these people always have each others backs and the love they feel as they say they are not friends they are family, love it.

I love stories where two people who love each other, but are drifting apart, course correct. I enjoy seeing the woman as the grumpy one & the man as the sunshine.
