    Kathy Coopmans blows me away with this dark and emotional mafia romance novel, the first book of her “Diamond Empire” series, a series of standalone novels. The story grabbed my attention right from the start and held it captive the entire time, it also tugged on my heartstrings like no other. This book is a spinoff of an existing world, a world I am new to, but I had no problem jumping in, never felt lost or like I was missing something. I am not sure how I missed the earlier series, I only know I am looking forward to checking them out soon. This book is Victoria Hughes and Seth Mitchell’s story and wow, what a story it is. Victoria and Seth were both born into a dangerous world of power. Although Victoria wants nothing to do with it, it's in her blood and can't be avoided, especially if Seth has a say. Seth moves to New York to be closer to Victoria and to be an enforcer for the Diamond Empire. There was a hit on Victoria’s family, she and her father were spared because they were not home at the time, both are suffering from heartbreak and survivor’s guilt. How does someone come back from such a gut-wrenching loss? Seth and Victoria have known each other for years, but she despises him, at least that is what she thinks, and Seth is determined to prove otherwise. He is also determined to find out who was behind the attacks and who is trying to take the empire down. The chemistry between these two was undeniable, and Victoria could only deny herself for so long before finally giving in to it. The story is cleverly plotted with non-stop drama, angst, thrilling suspense, heartfelt emotions, and steamy romance. Kathy Coopmans, thank you for this great story and emotional rollercoaster ride. 

    🎧📚🎧  And for the fantastic narration, Alexander Neal and Lynn Barrington were the perfect cast to bring these characters to life and they did so with a complete understanding of who they were portraying, giving each a voice that was fitting to that character’s persona and were believable in every role they played. They set the perfect tone for the story, captured all the characters’ emotions and had you feeling every single one. These entertaining storytellers are versatile voice artists and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another excellent listen.

    I found this book in a set the other day and when I started reading I didn't want to stop. It is one of those kinds of stories that will either have you glued to the pages or have you cringing that you want to put it down but you can't. You have to keep reading because you need to know how Seth and Victoria's story ends.
    I loved Seth and Victoria, both were fighting their feeling. Or maybe they didn't want to admit them until the time was right. Even when other people saw it but never told them. When they finally came together it was explosive and final. They were it for each other and that was fine with them.
    This story is about family, loyalty, revenge, loss, and love. If you are looking for a great story to read, then this one is for you. I can't wait to read the next one in this series.

    This is my first time reading this author. The blurb sounded compelling and I am always up for discovering new authors. But the writing and grammar was atrocious - the use of tense, wrong use of words, overall sentence structure and fragments. It was very distracting, confusing at times, and it was disruptive to the flow. I had to reread lines repeatedly. Other than that, the story and world was really compelling. They are good characters, and they kept me reading. I may even continue to Diesel's story.

    The thing about this author is, she writes what I call “real mafia” or at least what real mafia appears to be from the outside....the characters aren’t weakened or made more palatable to the reader…they are who they are….I love this book….but it’s not for the faint of heart…it’s dark and gritty and really, really good…with a fantastic love story thrown into the mix…💜🌼
    Seth Mitchell is an unapologetic killer for The Diamond Empire...he enjoys it...craves it... and Seth has claimed reluctant mafia princess Victoria Hughes…Victoria is broken and has suffered so much loss and although she loves Seth, she is unsure if she wants the life to which she was born…💜🌼
    Seth and Victoria are opposites and so alike in every way…they are perfect for each other with so much chemistry, I was afraid for the safety of my kindle…I loved this line…”Opposites really do attract. However, they wouldn’t connect if there wasn’t a matching part somewhere inside…” Seth and Victoria have matching parts all over the place…💜🌼
    If you like mafia and not the watered down kind…you wanna read CONCEDE…Awesome book…💜🌼

    I haven't read one of Kathy's books for quite a while+have forgotten how well she writes.She draws you in,so,you have a clear view of the characters in your mind +as always the plots are action filled but also full of angst.I shed a tear or two during this one because one of my favourite lead characters from the Syndicate Series is no longer alive,however it's great to read+get to know the next generation.As always a great read +can't wait for Diesels+Ambers story.

    This is the next generation from the syndicate I love the syndicate five stars all the way but I'm only giving four stars because at the beginning you learn of brutal murders in the family it was heartbreaking and imo unnecessary it kinda of ruined my pleasure in the

    syndicate series I nearly gave up reading the rest of the book but I'm glad I stuck it out would have been five stars if hadn't killed off certain people and also the spelling mistakes are awful so hopefully next book will improve
