    I liked the dual POV of the story so we got both sides of this story from the beginning. I was hooked from the beginning when we learned how much of a loner the FMC was but it was due to bullying. I hated the bullying part, but liked the confidence she eventually gained. I felt like the story felt real with only a little bit of fiction thrown in. I like the concept of the men that run Club Alias and their other business and how it was weaved into the story. Would recommend the book for sure!

    I went into reading this duet with an open mind, not fully knowing what I was getting into until I read that harrowing first page.
    This book has been a journey I have both laughed through and cried at.
    This story touched my very soul and I cannot recommend this enough.

    Yes there is raunchy sexy smutty scenes but this story is SO MUCH MORE than just another boy meets girl, big bad breaks them apart then they sort it type of trope.
    This was heart wrenching in a way that made me need to take a couple breaks to bring my emotions into order.

    I read this duet in less than 48 hours, a girl has got to sleep!, and apart from the occasional emotional pitstop I seriously COULD NOT PUT THIS BOOK DOWN.

    The character development was stunning and I was truly proud of Vi by the end of the story.
    Corbin, that poor angry man, lucky enough to find his soulmate.

    This is one book that will stay with me forever.
    It truly resonated with me.
    It also deeply respects the relationship between D/s and also between a victim and their way of finally coming to terms with things and healing.

    An absolutely incredible story that I will absolutely give 5 stars to.

    There is many things that I feel need to be explained or maybe more of warnings given but I want to start by saying overall I enjoyed it. Specifically the BDSM club and the therapy journey were very well written/portrayed and there was some super sexy times.

    Now for the cons...if this book was re-organized I think it would have been much better. The whole first half of the book (or prequel that turned into part 1) almost made me want to give up and DNF it. If nothing else I would highly advise anyone who has been sexually assaulted skip the prologue. It deserves a major trigger warning but is easily skippable.

    After the rape flashback we jump in to a teenage romance between someone who seems mature beyond their years and someone who is very innocent and finishing highschool. Jumping from rape to that especially with some of the controlling/manipulative language used at some parts was challenging and even though it was supposed to be a sweet romantic moment it honestly just made me feel sick since the perspective and arrangement made it feel to me like the character was a child being sexually groomed.

    Honestly, I would have done better just skipping that entire first half or having those parts added in to her therapy work. The rest of the book was well written and exciting and it felt like an adult romance. It's obvious the author did her research and I love that she accurately portrayed bdsm and the importance of taking care of your partner and trust and safe words and all of that.

    The only other awkwardness was in parts where ot seemed like she changed the tone from a story to a memoir. I have no problem with it being either but when the writing style switches back and forth and the "fourth wall" is down and then back up it ruins the immersion experience you get from a fantasy vs reality (you can bo longer feel like you are the character when the author makes it clear she is the character and you are the observer).

    I also felt there were a few minor plot wholes and areas that could have been further developed to strengthen the plot development and character connections. Still, good overall and as a rape survivor, therapy graduate and bdsm fan I would recommend it if nothing else for the 3/4 of the book that portray all those things really beautifully.

    I was introduced to the series with Nate and Evie's story in A Lesson in Blackmail and then I read Doc's story because I was way too curious about his story, so I've been doing this backwards. I love the series so much! Everything about it! The immense work put into world building, character arc and character flaw being normalized in between the lines... everything is absolutely perfect!
    With this duet, I felt like it crushed my soul and glued it back together with gold! I was lapping up every detail of Vivian's gentle strength and Corbin's obsession with his wife! The confession time thing was brilliant enough that I plan to use it when it strikes me to confess my feelings out of thin air, it's good for any overthinker out there!
    Vivian's story told with such care and presicion with sessions in the book, and the characters who care for her mental health made my now golden heart sing and when she broke down it made my heart weep and I was sobbing uncontrollably, enough that I felt my throat closing up with emotion.
    I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT! The author is new to me and I found her through tiktok and that's how I found the series, but she became my one click author now! I'm so happy I have so much of her books to catch up now! So, I'm off to the next one 😊

    I'm going to be honest. I found KD Robichaux on Tiktok and really liked her videos. In one she mentioned how covid had affected her family and I bought my first book of hers (Doc) just to support her a little. I could not set it down. After I finished it I immediately ordered the confession Duett. I also finished that book in one go.
    I can only recommend the boxed set because I wouldn't have been able to think about anything else if I had needed to wait for the second one to arrive.
    It very well written, I instantly fell in love with the characters and it made me both laugh out loud and cry.
    I also read several of her other books by now and am currently waiting for one to arrive. ☺️

    I didn’t expect to fall in love with everything in this book so quickly! Corbin and Vi were soulmates through and through. Their story was just beautiful and the ending was perfect for them!

    Part of me does wish we had a little more of their original love story maybe their wedding or their marriage before it all fell apart! And weirdly I missed a little commentary from Knight.

    Now I will leave and head into another book from this fantastic author and carry on falling in love with the characters KD has created 🥰

    Eu estava há mais de um ano procurando algum livro que me prendesse a atenção como os livros da Colleen fizeram.
