About the author

M.J. Kaestli loves to both read and write stories with strong female leads who don’t know they were born to conquer the world. She developed a love for sci-fi and fantasy at an early age and has turned her passion for fast paced adventures with a twist into a collection of novels. She lives in Vancouver BC where the continual sound of rain inspires her to create dark and ominous worlds and the heroines who fight for them.

- Reviewed in the United States on February 27, 2022I still love the story, can't wait to see how it ends! I gave 4 stars bc this book seemed to repeat emotions and thoughts quite a bit, especially towards the end. I felt all the repeating made parts of story drag on and lose some of the suspense.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 12, 2021This book wasn’t as good as the others but it gave you alot more information but also questions too. The creativity of this author is astounding so it still gets a 4. Looking forward to the next one.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 18, 2021This book is hard to get through!! A person can only take so much "background info"!! I wanted to hear the " meat" of the story, not so many boring background details! All this could've been summarized in way less! It took too long to get back to Fresh and Colin! The state has too much of an upper hand for it to be one family seeking to control the world! The love story of Fresh and Colin seems lost as all of the other love stories!! Chastity' s death ends hope of her family having a happy ending. Too much of the villain winning makes one not want to read the book!!
- Reviewed in the United States on February 14, 2022in the series. As with the others, there are multiple misused words such as patients for patience, the wrong too for to and two many other erros to count. To this point, this book seems pretty well unnecessary. The story is very long and complex and most of the pieces from different viewpoints are fitting together to carry the story arc, but I keep wishing that it were done more expeditiously and without all of the errors. This book is from a variety of viewpoints, but its placement means we already know what happens to almost all of the characters and this is a mostly overly explained explanation of viewpoints. There is an unbelievable amount of self-sacrifice. BTW psychological abuse and physiological abuse are confused in one of the trigger warnings in this series.

5.0 out of 5 stars Connects all the dots
I was waiting so patiently for this book to come out, and I am sure glad that I did!! For anyone who has followed this series, Lewis was always such a mystery - the missing link. That is no longer the case! Like the rest of the books in this series, I could not put the book down! From the first page YOU'RE PULLED IN. And, especially with the current turmoil in our own world, I felt like this book seemed to draw parallels which kept me wanting more. If you are a fan of these novels, it is a must have! If you haven't read the series, start today! You won't regret it!!
