About the author

Born and raised around Houston, Jessica is a self proclaimed caffeine addict, connoisseur of inexpensive wine, and the worst driver in the state of Texas. In addition to being all of these things, she’s first and foremost a wife and mom.
Growing up, she shared her mom and grandmother’s love of reading. But where they leaned toward murder mysteries, Jessica was obsessed with all things romance.
When she’s not nose deep in her next manuscript, or binging on sit-coms, you can usually find her with her kindle in hand.

- Reviewed in the United States on December 9, 2021Oh Killian. You were such a JERK sometimes and couldn’t keep your foot out of your mouth but despite all your faults, you were such a loveable character. I love an alpha-hole with a heart of gold and Kilian was every bit that type of character. Gina on the other hand was delightfully fierce and gave as good as she got. I loved that she schooled several characters. So far, this may be my favorite of the series.
Tate brings her friend Gina on to be the assistant to the band and Killian doesn’t want anything to do with the girl he can’t get out of his head. She has haunted him since they spent one amazing night together and he kicked her out while his father’s bitter words about how terrible all women are ran a montage through his head. Gina, won’t be put off. She desperately needs the job to be able to support her sick mother. These two butt heads repeatedly and their fights are the things of legend, but their steam is even hotter!
Both Gina and Kill had some major hangups and insecurities which caused them to fight often. Plus Kill is kind of a territorial jerk. However, as their story continued, I liked how he would put his foot in his mouth, then realize and apologize. It’s not often an author shows growth with her characters in such an obvious way but it was very real. And the last quarter or so of the book was just so sweet. I really loved how these two characters connected and became the rock for the other. I am so glad I found this series since I love a rockstar romance so much!

As the third book in the Civil Corruption series I was looking forward to Killian and Gina's book. After seeing the way he treated her in Defile I was wondering what there story was.
This book was short and a fun read. The fighting between Gina and Killian kind of gave the book something to look forward to. However, sometimes they got on my nerves especially Killian. At the end I can see he did change and wanted to do better with his temper. But, eventhough I liked the book I did have issues.
It seems the heroines in the Civil Corruption series are pushovers most of the time. They get screwed over by the hero just to fall in bed with him right away after a kiss. I feel like Gina put up a fight, but she still didn't give it to Killian the way she should have.
Not to mention the book was just not as exciting or made me look forward to the next chapter. I don't know it was missing something. I thought the story lines with Marco and Cara would be longer, but they weren't which was disappointing.
I did think Gina's mother plot was important. It's important to love someone and remind them on the daily, but I am glad at the end she forgave herself. The book was good overall I just wouldn't go back and read it.
I am ready to start the fourth and final book which is sad. I do know this book will be more emotional especially after seeing Mace and Lyla in this book.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 10, 2018I loved this book. So. Hard. LOVED!!! I love this whole series, but Killian and Gina’s story was just extra special. I always say this when I read a Jessica Prince book, but I need to say this again. I love Jessica Prince’s books. She will be my forever one click buy.
Killian and Gina’s story touched my heart at so many levels. From the love Gina had for her mother and all the sacrifices she made for her to the crazy that was in Killian’s head, it all created such a perfect combination. I couldn’t get enough of it. It was such a fast read and I was mad because I was not ready for it to be over.
I hadn’t realized from the previous books how messed up in the head Killian was. He put little Gina through the wringer. And she was awesome standing up to him and telling him to go shove his attitude up his a$$. So good. I loved it all.
Once again, we get a tiny little Girl Talk blurb. It made me chuckle. Killian thought the girls were geniuses LOL
Read this book! Now! Stop reading the reviews and go buy it and read it. Like, NOW!!!
PS I really hope that poor Marco gets a book of his own. I need to know that he’s happy.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 30, 2019Wow! Okay, so I grabbed this because Marco is in it & Wrong Side of the Tracks comes out soon & I wanted more Marco before I start my ARC of that. : ) I haven't read the rest of the series, and I wasn't sure what to expect. It starts out with a few of my hard "no"'s and I wasn't really vibing with it at first. But as I got to know Gina & Killian and understand where they were coming from w/ the actions they were taking, I fell more & more in love w/ their characters.
The story is really well done! There were tears and laughs and lots of steam. And there was healing... I really loved the direction the story went with Killian's dad. That was one of my favorite story arcs and bits of character development! : )

5.0 out of 5 stars Keeps getting better….
Each book just keeps getting better! The girls are kick ass and the fellas are smoking hot, the stories flow so well! I’m not usually a fan of triangles, and man much as I love Kill I love Marco too. Hint author if you haven’t already write him his HEA! Read the series it’s great!

5.0 out of 5 stars My favourite pair
This book feels different to the first two. Both Kill and Gina start with deep psychological wounds that mirror each other. Gradually, they learn to heal - alone and with the other’s support. While they make mistakes in their relationship, I feel like they’re very relatable. They both grow substantially and become the strongest couple in the series so far. Easy to binge in one sitting.

This was such a fantastic read. Loved the angst and drama of these two. Their chemistry was off the charts
