Counting Book of Bugs: Count from 1 - 13 Paperback – May 1, 2016
Purchase options and add-ons
How many spots does a ladybug have? What do snails eat? Are caterpillars cute or ugly? Teachers, moms and dads, teach your little ones to count from 1 to 13 with this fun counting book!
- 10 different insects: count 13 ladybugs, butterflies, beetles, caterpillars, dragonflies, snails, bees, grasshoppers, cicadas and ants
- Illustrated with real color photographs for children to observe and learn from real life
- Sing along to this book to the tune of "Ten Little Indians"
- great for teaching beginner ESL students to count in English
Many children's early counting books only teach numbers up to 10, but it makes good sense to start with 1-12
- clocks use 1-12
- the numbers after 12 are all teens, so they will be all set for the next stage
- helps kids avoid mixing up 12 and 20 (a very common problem)
Children, especially nature-loving little boys, will love looking at the pictures and counting all the bugs.

- Reviewed in the United States on May 5, 2016Format: KindleVerified PurchaseKids will love the pictures in this book because they're really gorgeous. Don't be fooled by its apparent simplicity. Cathy has cleverly chosen each beautiful image to appeal to young children; in the same way David Attenborough draws you in to the magical world of creatures you might otherwise have overlooked, or found repulsive. So, besides learning to count your child may also learn to see 'bugs' as fascinating, rather than scary. That's the charm of Cathy's book. As a teacher of young children herself Cathy understands how simple appealing pictures can grab the attention of a young developing mind so that a parent or teacher can combine that visual with verbalising the counting or, even better, singing along to her suggested tune, and help your child to imprint basic counting into their impressionable little minds. This kids counting book also goes up to 13 (while most others stop at 10) for the very specific reason that clocks go up to 12 and to fix the difference between 12 and 20 while introducing the first 'teen'. A great educational tool for parents of pre-school children.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 7, 2016Format: KindleVerified PurchaseExcellent. Bright, colourful and attractive pictures to attract a child's eye. One notable thing about this counting book, is that it's been written to be a sing-along to the tune of "Ten Little Indians", which I thought was an added bonus!

5.0 out of 5 stars
