Logan Crowne needs one year from Ella.
That's it.

They have one year to convince his skeptical parents that they're happily in love, and he's settled enough to run Crowne Industries.
Ella wants the company badly enough to live with a man who will never love her.
She'll sleep in his room and kiss him for show. Her heart may melt whenever he's around, and his touch may ignite a fire inside her, but surrender will break her heart. She's sure she can last a year without giving him her body. She's wrong.

Desperation breeds bad decisions. But not always.
She is desperate to hold onto her legacy. He is desperate to hold onto his. A pact is made, a contract is signed and for one year they will fake it with the best of them. But when lines get blurred and feeling start arising, then what?Logan and Ella are faking it or are they? This was a fun ride with these two liars. I enjoyed the passion they tried to deny and the emotions they tried to write off. But the only way two can keep a secret is if one of them is dead. The upheaval was heartbreaking. How they fixed things with each other was wonderful. And the truths that came after the fall out was surprising.

I’m speechless! Seriously what do you say about a perfect book, amazing characters and a phenomenal story line??? Buy it, read it, love it!!! Crowne of Lies is romance at its best and so uniquely CD Reiss.

Fake marriage, total opposites, each with an end goal. Funny how things can change.
Logan Crowne and Ella Papillion have united for exactly that, a fake marriage for one year. A business deal that will benefit both to reach their ultimate goals. A fake persona for public appearances, then behind closed doors its seperate rooms, no sex well maybe a couple of times, and definitely no feelings......yeah right. They are like chalk and cheese but as the old saying goes opposites attract and when the chemistry is unleashed, BAM it’s on like Donkey Kong.

We first meet Logan in Iron Crowne that features his brother Byron also a stand-alone, he is charming and charismatic, sexy as all get out and a total workaholic. Trust me he will melt the panties right off you. I can safely say that Logan has knocked Bryon out off the top spot with his dirty talk and dominant alpha ways.
Ella has a uniqueness about her and a sassy nature that drew me in. She does things her way and expresses herself through her art and creations. A warrior princess who will fight for what she believes in. As Mrs Logan Crowne, she plays her part as the perfect wife to perfection until it’s not so perfect anymore.

As an added bonus you get a more in-depth look and Logan’s parents and siblings. I loved Ted and Doreen Crowne and how they interact with Logan and Ella, and they have their own story that I think would make interesting reading. Then you have Bianca, the wicked stepmother of Ella but by the end you have to wonder is wicked the right term. All in all though theses secondary character help add to the reading pleasure of this book.

CD Reiss is one author who gets my blood pumping and gives me the tingles when I’m reading her work. Crowne of Lies surpassed all my expectations and is a definite must read.

Marriage of convenience trope are fun. It takes me back to the days when I devour Harlequin romance daily and my favorites were always the marriage of convenience stories. But those stories were short and
formulaic and the hero always seems to benefit more than the heroine. In Crowne of Lies, Logan & Ella enter into a marriage of convenience and both hope to benefit from it. Logan wants to officially control the Crowne family business cuz that’s all he’s ever wanted and has been groomed for. While Ella, in order to fulfill a promise, needs to take back control of her family’s Fashion empire.
It was fun to see these two try to keep their marriage as a business arrangement and deny their feelings and attractions to each other. And man, the sex scenes were scorching hot. But even with the sexy and romantic times, I wasn’t always so sure they would find their happily ever after together. However, I shouldn’t have doubt that Ms. Reiss would be able to find a way to bring Logan and Ella’s love story to a satisfying conclusion. And the setup for the next couple surprised me a little (in a good way) cuz I thought it was going to be a different Crowne brother but hey now I’m intrigued and can’t wait for Crowne Rules.

he Crowne men are going to kill me. Ted and Doreen Crowne have raised some seriously stormy, sexy, good men. Totally different yet so clearly brothers, and so clearly honorable. Meeting Logan Crowne in Crowne of Lies cemented this fact for me.

Logan is the buttoned up business man. All suit and swagger and dismissive sex appeal. The all work, no play brother who is so over the top that his parents forcibly puts his campaign for his ONE BIG THING - the top seat at Crowne Industries - on hold, so he can pursue what he thinks is his "other thing" aka the one that can wait - a marriage like his parents. The ultimatum - Logan's on leave with the instructions to live life and fall in love. Of course, he hears that as "make a deal" for a marriage of convenience. Find a willing candidate. Negotiate. Sign a contract. Easy peasy. He's just recruiting for a temporary hire, after all...

Enter Elle Papillion. A passing acquaintance from High School. Outwardly his opposite in every way. Tatted up. Pierced. A Creative. A DGAF girl. But appearances are deceiving. Her conflicting obligations and the weight of her legacy - protecting and growing her father's design house - are crushing the life out of her art. Specifically the big white canvas sitting untouched, mocking her at every turn. Their exteriors may not show it but they are headstrong peas in a pod of ambition. So, when Logan comes along with his offer and a way to remove her biggest problem, her step monster, she's no less buttoned up as he is, negotiating ruthlessly. She doesn't even blink at a year of celibacy, but the contingency clauses do give her a moments' pause. "Just in case" he says.

But we all know that marriages of convenience are never convenient for the heart. Especially when the sexual tension skyrockets and the "solution" is a "meaningless" coupling on the hood of a Ferrari supercar. More swoony filth for the ages.

And things get real - fast. The emotional arcs that Ms. Reiss puts her characters on are a delicate, graceful, always unique high wire act and Elle and Logan are no different. Their individual struggles with their ambitions and their coupling, and what one means to the other, is where this story soars.Watching Logan and Elle "sort their stuff" is really touching and beautiful. They're both so wracked with the fear of not being good enough and what not being they're "supposed to be" in order to be worthy. Their individual struggle and their coupling is where this story soars.

The emotional slow burn and tension is absolutely, deliciously addictive which had my holding my breath. Could they get out of their heads long enough to find each other? I think you know the answer.

Logan , a positive workaholic is given an ultimatum. Ella is the solution to his ultimatum. However they didn’t take into account that a business promise can be a heart felt commitment. Especially when Brogan is brought back fully into the Crowne empire. A beautiful written book about opposites attracting. How it’s easy to form a business provision at first to gain what you want, until feelings become involved, and the heart dictates a different outcome. We get to learn more about the Crowne empire and its family members. We meet characters we have known before and watch them grow on the perimeter of the storyline, and we are introduced to new members who will play an important role in future storylines. There is drama, intrigue, realisations of truth and passed secrets. There are very romantic times, and times when the readers are as frustrated as the characters. However through out there is an excellent story to digest and enjoy.

Arranged marriage between Ella and Logan. There was plenty of chemistry in this one. We got to know the Crowne family pretty well. Money talks, and in this case Logan paid well for Ella to be his wife for a year. This was an interesting journey, and of course, love wins in the end.

Lovely story and fab characters, couldn’t put the book down. So many goosebumps reading this. Logan lives and breaths work, his dad is worried about him missing out on the important things in life, so being the head of the company he tells him unless he gets married he can’t take over the company from him. No pressure!

He meets Ella through a friend, and thinks she’s perfect to be his pretend wife. Ella agrees and that’s when the lies start to get out of control. Ella is unpredictable, brilliantly creative and likes to be challenged. Little did he know she was exactly what he needed. Loved, Logan’s mum in this. What an awesome mother in-law to have!
