A newborn Alliance, forged to stop the destroyers of worlds
A potential ally, with secrets hidden by a thousand lies
A long-doomed star, whose ruins hold a vital answer

Isaac Lestroud, Admiral of the Exilium Space Fleet, has spent the last three years working with Ambassador Amelie Lestroud to build an alliance against the Rogue Matrices, AIs bent on converting every world into a paradise—regardless of whether anyone lives on it.

As Isaac hunts the Rogue that destroyed one of their allies’ homeworlds, Amelie begins negotiations with a potential new ally that could tip the balance. The Governance is a power to rival the human homeworlds the Lestrouds were exiled from—but like those homeworlds, not all is as it seems.

And far from the war, Octavio Catalan leads an expedition into the shattered wreckage of the home system of the Matrices’ builders. Among those dead worlds, he hopes to find the answer to the question that haunts the survivors of that race: why
did their AIs go genocidally insane?

Starred Review of Exile by PUBLISHERS WEEKLY:

"A failed rebellion against a tyrannical space confederacy is exiled to a remote corner of the galaxy in this political space drama, the first full novel in Stewart’s Exile series (after the novella Ashen Stars). In the colonized cosmos of 2386, Isaac Gallant, the son of the dictatorial president of the interstellar Confederacy, is a high-ranking officer in the Confederacy fleet. He’s also secretly part of a rebellion against the Confederacy. Alongside rebellion leader Amelie Lestroud, a former movie star, Isaac helps to colonize a verdant planet... THIS FAST-PACED STARFARING ADVENTURE SUCCEEDS with a thrilling mix of space battles and tender emotions."

EXILE examines a [Star Wars-like] universe in which the rebellion fails before it gets started and the large body of rebels are exiled to a distant part of the universe to create their own civilization--or to die if they fail. A detailed and very intelligent exploration of the realities of society at a macro level.

The Exile trilogy comes to an end and what a ride it is! New allies are introduced along with tying up key plot threads. But the story takes a few unexpected turns along the way, giving the reader a fun read as the Rogue Matrices are hunted down. Great story, engaging characters, plenty of space battles, and it wouldn’t be a Glynn Stewart book without enough twists and turns to keep the reader turning pages far too late into the night.

I received an ARC for my review. I enjoyed the book enough, that I purchased my own copy so that I now have the complete set of books for this series.

    Enjoy!

Exile series is a well written set of 3 books and a well developed universe.
Great character development, if a bit hung up on peoples race. (One would think after a few thousand years being a certain race wouldn't matter).

I would like to see a fourth book exploring the concept of visiting the old Confederate union, to me that would finish this story.

Here, Glynn Stewart weaves together three different story lines until they all converge at the end. While I guessed the direction everyone was heading, I'll admit I had been eying the dwindling pages left and wondering how he'd squeeze it all in.

Masterfully, was the answer. Everything came to a point, and at just the right speed. I thoroughly enjoyed this trilogy.

*I did receive an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review...but I bought the book today (day of its release) because I love it!*

I really didn't think Glynn could wrap up all the plot lines in this book. I was skeptical when I downloaded the ARC. But, I remembered how much he fit, story wise, into the other two...and then I saw the length of this one. By no means is it a short book!

I still consumed it in one day. 😊 Definitely couldn't put it down.

I love that Glynn wrote from three perspectives for this book. He's very good at stepping into different characters.

I love Amelie Lestroud even more in this book than I did the first. She's the kind of person I wish I were. But alas, the world needs lowly book reviewers like me, too, so I will just say I support positive role models like her! I am so glad Glynn doesn't get stuck writing about one type of character (ok, other than positive role model types...can you really be mad that his heroes are truly heroes, though??!!)

I did wish we saw more from the AI on Octavio's ship, and I thought he and the aliens from Refuge would play more of a role here...but but you can't have everything, I guess! 😁

I really enjoyed the this book and the series. There was a lot going on all the time. Lots of action, lots of mystery, lots and lots of intrigue. But there was always the hope. You can't do much without hope. Doesn't hurt to have the love to go with it . As they say Love makes the world go round. Thank you .

I was really looking forward to this final installment from Exile universe (I would be happy for a few more installments). The complexity and scope and even the physics of the universe got a lot more bredth, even more interesting. The cast of characters and the list species and factions really seems to expand in this book.
There was a lot of stuff that happened in this book. It was a great read. I'd love to have even more.
For me, the most beautiful part of the story was the love the AIs had for each other and for their core values. That was really powerful for me.
I was so very glad that I'd read this book. Perhaps I will be a better person for it.

I received a free electronic review copy in exchange for my honest review. Then I purchased a copy because I believe in supporting good work. I also signed up for this author's Patreon!

This book wrapped up many of the story lines of the series. The characters were still engaging and the plot was interesting. Looking forward to reading any future books in this series.

Congratulations to Glynn Stewart for another amazing series. It’s extremely hard to find such interesting and exciting author who not only write intelligently but also provides top rated plots, characters and excitement in the stories. I’m really looking forward to the next series!

After an extremely unbelievable starting context, the story grew into the sort of combative narrative I've learned to expect from Glynn Stewart.

It was worth getting past the iffy opening sequences and reaching the excellent Books 2 and 3. A rewarding read.

A compelling read; I had a hard time putting this down. Strong and vivid characters, tense action and plenty of it, and more than a couple plot twists that I didn't see coming.

This is a first class series, especially in terms of writing style. It's easy to read, and the pace is often fast and dense. The story and characters are very good. Definitely worth a shot.
