About the authors

Aly is a writer, musician, and terrible cook. She loves cats, hates selfies, holds a blackbelt in Kyokushin karate, and watches every documentary she can find. Her books (and music) stretch genres and feature emotional, angsty themes with gripping storylines that bring all the feels. The only things she enjoys more than shredding hearts is stitching them back together and creating vivid, complex characters you can’t let go.
Her novels have been nominated for an RT Reviewer’s Choice award, received a number of Amazon category bestseller rankings, and have been praised by some of the leading authors in the romance industry. The care and compassion with which she handles difficult subjects like mental illness and suicide has also been recognized by mental health advocates and actively promoted by multiple survivors and organizations.
No matter the genre or trope, Aly’s goal is always the same: to write with earnest passion from her soul to yours.

- Reviewed in the United States on June 23, 2020From the start I knew I was in for an emotional, twisted ride but for every breathless moment there was one that made it more. Cursed have us all we needed to finish the story of Rebecca and Daniel's story with a bit of more to know that I want more.
Thus story show us it's worth the fight, it's worth all the pain and it's worth the struggles when you love like they do. When you do d the place you belong, the person you belong too and saying this does not make this story a easy one. It's full of moments were I was telling at the pages , gasping and literally taking a moment to take in all that I read. It has that much power.
The light that shines through the darkness in Moira's words captured my from the start and this series is one that will stay with me.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 24, 2020This end of Gifted left us with a major cliffhanger and wondering, WTH is going on??? In that 1st book, the main characters, Rebecca and Daniel, both mysteriously enigmatic, had been drawn into each others powerful orbits from their 1st meeting and touch. You need to read this beginning story of their duet/series before diving into Cursed to fully understand all the details of what this means for them, the fate of Madison Academy, along with it's mystically talented residents.
I won't reveal much in this review except to say, Rebecca is not the pawn she believed herself to be, but instead could be the queen in this mental game of chess. Meanwhile, Daniel has changed so much, appearing to be the complete opposite of who she came to love from day one..she doesn't like it one little bit. How could he be so different now and why???
Once again, they are plotting, or are they being plotted against? The devil is in those details and the game keeps on changing as the story progresses toward its explosive conclusion.
This suspenseful story has some dark elements, but also has somewhat of a YA/ PG young love feel between the H and h- with longing and desire, implied rather than described in detail. Cursed focuses on well thought out plotlines with secrets, betrayals and with the MC's attempting to stay one step ahead of their enemies, which is far from easy. While their story is really a duet, I wanted to see more closure in this book for Rebecca and Daniel and was left wondering what happened with some of the other characters as well. Some threads were left hanging, but might be addressed in the next book featuring a mysterious, surprise family member of one of the main characters who might have some of that unique DNA themselves! Let the story continue!
These are not my typical genres- YA or paranormal, but since this duet was written by a favorite author using a new pen name, I jumped in. Glad I gave it a chance and tried something new- they kept me on my toes, so I know I'm going to have to read the 3rd book when it is releases to see what happens next!
- Reviewed in the United States on June 27, 2020This book coinsides with Gifted. They must be read in order to understand what's happened and is happening.
In this book Rebecca learns how to control her powers. Her and Daniel are still close even though he is still locked up in the basement. Rebecca is determined to bring down Madison Academy.
Will she do it? Will things work out?
- Reviewed in the United States on July 4, 2020This book was another angsty roller coaster. Just when you think you know where things are going...bam...new direction. I really enjoyed the conclusion of this part of Rebecca and Daniel’s story.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 26, 2020Loved this book as much as the first! Rebecca is such a strong heroine. I love her character. I can’t wait for the next book!

Ok I was baffled when I picked this up. I was like wait hold up what happened between one and two. How did such an about face happen? Tell me the answers! I kept on despite and eventually it fell into place.
Rebecca and Daniel want to put an end the "research" Director Clausen conducts. He says he wants to help these kids with their gifts but something more sinister is happening at Madison Academy. They gather their most trust friends and together they set off to make this vision a very real reality.
I guess Rebecca grew some in this book. She learned to put herself aside to do something good. Daniel had a change and it was strange but i liked it. He finally leaned on someone else. I have questions though do kids graduate this school? Do you age out? Also where was Ben and the mean girls? Good story by a up and coming author
- Reviewed in the United States on January 25, 2021Book 2 in the Gifted series continues on from ‘that’ cliffhanger in book 1, as Daniel and Rebecca try to expose Clausen for the fraud he really is. Easier said than done. Clausen always seems to be one step ahead of them with his diabolical plan. Again, there’s more twists and turns, and nothing is quite as straight forward as it seems. Losing memories, stealing memories, reading minds, it’s all one big mind game. Who can Rebecca trust? Daniel has turned into the school’s golden boy, while Rebecca is now the school pariah. Daniel is also blowing hot and cold when it comes to Rebecca, Anna appears to have abandoned her, and Clausen has done a complete 180, playing Mr Nice Guy. All things considered Rebecca is doing the best she can, with the information she has, all while trying not to make Clausen suspicious. Wonderful writing, addictive storyline, the suspense was real folks, oh and the grand finale, I don’t think anyone could have expected that. I received a complimentary copy of this book. This is my honest opinion.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 21, 2020This series messed me up so good. I kept second-guessing my theories, it’s so twisted.
Good pacing and characters. Loved the dynamics between Rebecca and Daniel.
This is more of a fantasy/suspense than romance.

“And neither are you.”

5.0 out of 5 stars Rollercoaster!
So many twists and turns, did not see them coming - I was totally swept up in the intrigue. I will definitely want to read the third book, but don’t worry - this book does resolve the Rebecca / Daniel story. Really enjoyed it - the light touches brought real momentary flashes of comedy, depth and sweetness.

Brilliant second book in this series, gripping storyline from the get go, well thought twists and beautifully written. Can't wait for book 3.
