    Um...wow?!?!

I've avoided the millionaire/billionaire romance (particularly the "damaged" variety) because I've heard they all involve ridiculous, abusive, and misogynistic relationships. That didn't appeal to me at all.

But I saw this book in my Bookbub e-mail and thought, "Well, the cover sure is pretty, so why the heck not? Can't dismiss an entire genre without reading at least one book in it." So I bought it...and binged my heart out. This book blew my socks off and got me addicted to a new subgenre of romance for me. Long live millionaire/billionaire freaking romances.

Yes, there is some damage. Yes, there are some uncomfortable situations. Yes, there are lots and lots and lots of secrets. But I was surprised and delighted by the author's ability to balance alpha maleness (there was a lot of alpha maleness, which I adore, without it being so misogynistic and disrespectful as to be irredeemable or unattractive), damaged past, and redemption story all in one wonderfully delicious character. I also liked how consensual their relationship was...and how he didn't try to buy or bully her with money.

Seriously, Ben Foster...rowr. I can't even think straight after reading this trilogy. And yes, I bought the entire set and read it in one night.

The only complaint I had was the side characters... In reading this trilogy first, I hadn't realized until later that the side characters were actually characters from another series. These side characters were not overly pleasant to read about and I'm not particularly enthusiastic to read their story. However, since I am in love with the Ruin trilogy and have a healthy dose of respect for Ms. Bladon, I'll definitely try the Vain series next.

After Ruin, I did go buy other billionaire romances. Some were good, some were bad, but at this point, I hold them all up to the Ruin candle. :)

If your into short and sweet with barely any drama, you'll like the series. If you're looking for troubled souls, deep dark hidden secrets, relationships tested, unexpected twists and turns, you won't like the series. And the sex is pretty basic and boring. I'm rating the first book with 4 stars because I was loving how secrets were becoming exposed and relationships on the verge of ending and beginning. As far as the complete series, I rate it with 2 stars. The first book set me up thinking ot was going to go in a direction it didn't go. With the revelations of the girl that Noah slept with the day his mother died and the secret meetings Zach was having with Kayla, I honestly thought it was going to turn the tables upside down. I was thinking that somehow Noah set up Ben to take the fall for their Mother's death. I was thinking that Noah was having secret meetings with Kayla to somehow make her pawn in his schemes. I was totally expecting that something crazy was going to happen, but it never did. It was a quick read with no meat to the story. There are so many points in the story where more layers could've been added, but nothing. The book title itself is a set to make the reader think it's going to be full of drama. I think the word, ruined, was mentioned only once. I WAS wanting to read other books by Deborah Bladon, but I'm not so sure anymore. I like a lot of impact to a story. Just because a story is short doesn't mean it can't happen.

So, I've never read a book by this author before, so when I was recommended this book I took a chance and bought it. I've never bought a book because of the recommendations amazon gives me, so I'm really happy I decided to give this book a try!! I've been looking for a book that kept my attention and made me want to run to get the next book and this book did the trick!

Kayla is trying to forget about her jerk of a boyfriend who left her without looking back. She thought their love would be forever, but she was wrong. When she boards a plane to move back to New York, she meets Ben. He's gorgeous and Kayla is instantly smitten with him. After a night together, Kayla can't forget about Ben and how she felt when she was with him.

Flash forward a few weeks and there he is again. Ben. They reunite and Kayla finds out a secret about Ben that can ruin her relationship with her best friend and Ben. Who is Ben, and what is he hiding from Kayla?

This book was so good! I couldn't put it down and when I finished it, I hurried over to my computer to buy the next two books. I love the relationship between Kayla and Ben and I can't wait to see what Ben is hiding. Let's just say that cliffhanger ending shocked me.

I'm a huge fan of the author now and can't wait to read the rest of her works! I recommend this book to everyone!

This series is one of those cart-before-the-horse stories. Sex before last name, lust before love, and baby before marriage.

The writing is good for the most part, but if you like characters who have some values and if you like romances with, well, romance, you'll be disappointed. The hero is hot and there's plenty of sex. The heroine is likeable, and her friends are, too. The author gets points for an unexpected, gut-punching twist in book two, but the way she resolves it in book three was anticlimactic.

Baldon has a writing style that often placed the heroine's thoughts between another character's dialogue and her reply. And not just a line or two. I'm talking whole paragraphs. It became an irritant in book two. Sometimes there was so much exposition before the heroine's answer, I forgot what the question was. Some of it should have been left for after, and some of it wasn't necessary.

The pacing is fast, the story (for the most part) is well-plotted, and the sex is hot. If you don't mind books with strangers that hook up for sex without even knowing each others' last name, this is your series.

4.0 out of 5 stars A story of friendship, trust, misunderstandings and lust.

Definitely a page-turner! And what a mess of a situation!

Kayla only wants to forget about her ex-boyfriend and moves back to New York. To forget that guy she finds herself in an unforgetable one-night-stand with a stranger.
An evening out with her best friend Alexa and her fiancé Noah ends in an argument about his brother, someone he doesn't want to talk about. Kayla only wants one thing - go home, and stumbles right into the arms of him - Dr. Ben Foster and his ER. But he's not any doctor, he's THE brother.

When Ben finds out Kayla knows Noah, he wants to know everything about him. But he also tells her that she can't tell them, that Noah will tell lies to keep her away from him.

As things get messy and Noah learns about the affair Kayla and Ben have, things get nasty. Soon Kayla finds herself in between these men, not knowing who to really trust. What is the truth and who is lying.

An addictive story with things I'm sure aren't how they seem to be on the first look. So I'm looking forward to the next parts.

Awesome! Can't wait for the next installments. This was a perfect introduction for Kayla and Ben's story. It had steamy sex, and lots of suspense. What more can you ask for when you have a hot alpha male doctor in the story? What a cliffhanger! I didn't see that coming!

A great book and I would recommend this series to anyone who likes an easy read with some hot scenes but also with a bit of a story to it. The books are very small (I finished Book 1 and 2 both within a day) and each leave you with a cliff hanger. I am desperately hanging out for Book 3!

This us part one where we are introduced into Ben Fosters life estranged brother of Noah except kayla has no idea who he is and what part in her life he will play. This is a cliffhanger but well worth the read it is written so wonderfully like the other series from Deborah you will not be dissapointed.
