4.4 out of 5 stars 3,336 ratings

The second part of RUIN, a three-part series from New York Times and USA Today bestselling author, Deborah Bladon.

Kayla Monroe had fallen hard and fast for Dr. Ben Foster. He was everything she needed and wanted after being dumped by the man she thought she loved. What started as a one night stand quickly turned into a blossoming relationship. Then the complications of his youth halt everything in its tracks. The voices around her are telling Kayla that Ben isn't the man she thinks he is but her heart is telling her something completely different. She's drawn to him like a moth to a flame and as she listens as he explains his past, she sees the promise of a future with him that she desperately wants. She's the thread that will weave a path for Ben back into the family he has lost. She senses it and as she takes on the task of releasing him from his burdens, she discovers that the man she has been sharing her bed with is, more complicated than she ever imagined. Just as Kayla is about to step into her future with Ben, she ends up in a place where she's forced to accept a truth that she never knew existed.

Ruin deserves and received 5 stars. I will not judge this series on what I wish that it was. Do I wish that it was a full length book and not a trilogy or a tetralogy, yes I do. I hate the time between finishing one and waiting on the next. I read a lot and when I start a new book, in-between waiting on the next book in a series I lose some of the excitement and interested in the series. With that being said the second book in this series was released within 2-3 weeks of the first, I can live with that. This book has in-depth characters and a intriguing story line. I started and finished each book within the day. Love this series and will definitely finish this series with a smile.

I loved this book - not only because it brought in characters from her other books because she can endless think of shocking events for her characters to have to endure and therefore keep the reader at the edge of their seats! Ben is related to Noah from Vain and I love seeing little snippets here and there but also love that he has his own story with Kayla. A must read! And cliffhanger ending of courze

First of all I hardly ever write a review. However I do enjoy Deborah's writing. I love the Obsessed. Exposed, Pulse and vain series. I was so looking forward to this second book. I certainly didnt expect the cliffhanger. I'm crushed. I do love the series and the characters who we continue to see how their lives play out. My favorite books are the ones that aren't 3 and more books. It's just a personal preference. I prefer to have one book on my kindle and ipad verses several short stories. Ruin part 2 left me sad and shocked. I will read the continuation of this series. Would I recommend others to read all of these stories? Absolutely. Every single one of them. This review in no way meant to be negative. The part where I wish for one large book is just my personal preference. Please hurry with this series. 🙏🙏

This was an amazing series. It had the hot amazing sex and the secrecy. Dr Ben Foster was HOT. I enjoyed this read. I could not put it down. I enjoy Deborahs books because you do not have to wait long for the next book in the series to come out. Kayla is getting over a heart break when she sits next to the hot Dr Foster on a plane. She does not know it is her best friends twin brother that he has not talked to for years. Kayla tries to get to the bottom of Ben and his brothers problems to reunite them when she finds out Ben is talking to her ex. Ben loves Kayla and he will do anything to get her back. Amazing love story.

I read all three books, and I wish it were possible to review all three as a whole unit rather than three separate books. They were so short that they really could have been condensed into one single book. It was somewhat irritating that they were three books. Then again, for $3.00 total, it's really just like one anyway. I ended up finishing all three, because I wanted to find out what happened, so Bladon had me there. Unfortunately, I was disappointed in the end, so I doubt I will be seeking to read more of her work anytime soon. Just not for me.

OMG! I'm still freaking out from that ending. I never, NEVER, saw that coming! I love books that shock me and aren't predictable. Many books I've read lately I can figure out the ending before the middle of the book, but in this book I never guess right! I'm always surprised at what's happening with the characters and I love it!

Ben and Kayla have been through a lot. When Kayla found out that Ben is the twin brother of her best friend's fiance, she's shocked, but she wants to make their relationship work. What she didn't anticipate was Ben admitting that he killed his mother when when he was a teen. Is there more to this story that Ben isn't telling her? And why is Noah, Ben's brother, so convinced that Ben will only ruin Kayla?

Just remember, things are not always what they appear to be. And you'll see a different side of Ben in this book that you never seen coming. Prepare for a roller-coaster of emotions with this book.

I loved this book more than I loved the last one! I love Ben, but the ending of this book has me questioning him. You better believe I'm reading the third and last book tonight to see if Ben is really the guy I thought he was. Let's just say that I want to smack him right now and I don't know what to believe anymore.

I highly recommend this book to everyone! You will love it and be shocked by the ending!

    My favorite parts:

"Forgiveness is a heady beast when death is on the table."

"Secrets have a way of pulling you apart from within. They fester until they have no place to go but out into the open."

This was much better than book 1. The cliffhanger is a great one. I like the storyline and characters. My issues are the sex scenes, specifically the dialogue. It just seemed forced & unlike other authors (MS Parker, K Bromberg, etc.), I just didn't connect with it. Dialogue otherwise was pretty good. If the author would have made the book longer, she could have flushed out the storyline much better.

You will not be able to put this book down! It will rock your world. The sex scenes right from the beginning are so powerful. The story pulls you along and then "Bang", it twists. Having a hard time waiting for the next one. Try not to read it in a day unless you have the next one, it's pure torture.

OMG i am so glad that book 3 is being released tomorrow, because i finished this one in one night and i'm itching to know what happens next!!! Holy crap i didn not expect that ending and i am sooo glad i don't have to wait a long time for it.

This story continues to lay on the hotness and the intrigue about the shared past between Noah and Ben, and the twists and turns between the relationships surrounding Kayla. Another quick read.....but don't buy til the 3rd one is released, because you will go insane after the cliffhanger!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Damn it! What a cliffhanger!
Reviewed in Germany on October 19, 2014
I still can't believe Ben would do something like that!

After part one I thought I had an idea on how this would go. Uhm, I was so wrong.
Kayla still believes Ben's version of the events and sticks by him. Ben is eager to convince Kayla that his version is true and yet, not to talk to Noah or Alexa. On the other hand, he's never angry when she speaks about him.

Noah and Kayla meet more and more to talk about the events that happened twelve years ago. Noah is the only one to fill the gaps Ben leaves in his story. The more Kayla learns about the brothers and what happened, the more torn she is on what to believe, which side to take.

In all this mess, she has to lie to her best friend Alexa and can't be as happy at the pre-wedding stuff she should be. After one talk with Noah, Kayla is eager to fly out to Boston to help Ben. And while there she decides to go grab the stuff she left at the appartment she had with her ex.

But that trip to Boston - nothing is at is seems and Kayla is in for another life changing discovery.

3.0 out of 5 stars Marginally better than the first installment
Reviewed in Canada on January 4, 2015
This 100 pages of the three part story was marginally better than the first. Some other reviewers have commented that the three parts could have been combined into one single book, and I agree---this gimmick of breaking a book up into three parts to create more 'cliff-hangers' is amateurish.

In this installment we see a lot of history which at least gave Ben and Kayla some depth and dimension. This is fast'n flashy romance, so I'm not expecting an amazing story and writing style. Unfortunately, I get the feeling that Kayla is nothing more than a messenger-girl relaying messages from Noah to Ben, Noah to Alexis, Alexis to Noah, etc. Secrets will be the undoing of friendships and romances in life---but Ben seems to weasel his way out of a lot of culpability so I'm sure he'll come up roses in the final installment of Ruin.
