I've read two of Ms. Bladon' s Series. Obsessed and Pulse. Although I feel she is a great writer I'm a bit tired of reading stories that are stretched out over several volumes. Less truly is more. Because I enjoyed her writing style I ventured to get this book although I've passed on most of the rest of her work.

    I'm glad I did.

Libby wants to be a Broadway star. Beautiful, talented and able to say no to Alec Hughes. He, however, can make her dreams come true.

Alec wants not to feel. Women are a means to an end for him and he is aware he has no more value to them than what he can give them. Libby Duncan wants him but not what he can give her.

How does a woman who knows better, allow herself to fall in love with a man who will never be able to find someone more wonderful than she?

Both Libby and Alec are strong characters who inhabit the 3 dimensional plane. They have desires and needs which they both fight. It is no surprise what happens in the story but Ms. Bladon tells it so well that when all was revealed I honestly got lost in the emotions the characters felt.

I want to encourage the author to stick to stand-alones. This was tighter and fresher than what I have read by her so far.

    I highly recommend this book.

I LOVED this book. Since discovering this author I have read every single one of Deborah's books over the last 2 weeks and been totally captured by the stories she weaves, though I absolutely HATE cliffhangers. I read ALOT more than the average person and I hate have 6 or 7 stories OPEN at once waiting for the next installment; so that alone made this book even better than the rest to me. It SERIOUSLY detracts from my enjoyment of a great book when I have to keep coming back to installments between reading 10 other books; annoying as heck. When I snuggle up with a good book I want to read and enjoy the full story before I move on. So this one was TERRIFIC. As far as story content for this particular book; it seemed a little off from the writing style I have come to expect from her. The characters were a tiny bit less fleshed out than normal and the scene transition was odd, but still it made for a wonderful story and I enjoyed it. I must admit, I found myself really wanting Libby to have just a smidgen more backbone. I found it a tittle hard to swallow that any independent woman would go for such a cloak and dagger type relationship. But I loved the HEA and I am hoping to see a lot more standalone novels from her.

Alec and Libby. For as short as this book is, the characters are very well developed, addictive and intriguing. This author centers her stories in NYC often and it adds to the mystery and intensity of the men. When I think about moving from a small town at the age of 20-30 to New York, I think about the rich, attractive uninhibited alpha males on the prowl for the night. The men of her stories are almost always abrupt and without fear. I love that they all fall-- and quickly. Each man usually carries a bit of baggage and the author does a great job of mixing up the plots.

I am as addicted to her books now as when I read my first one. Libby might just be one of my favorite female characters. Strong and sarcastic---love main female character like her! Not too quick to trust men with her heart but more than willing to jump into bed for physical pleasure. Love it.

Awesome plot- great characters. And Axel NY shows up in each story! Love the ties throughout each series.

I bought Solo on a whim when it was 99 cents. And I have to say that I am glad I did because I have never read any other books written by Deborah Bladon.

Right off the bat, the very first page, I had to cringe when Alec approached Libby in the elevator. That was the first of many times. Guys just don't talk like that. I understand why he was so abrasive, rude, and had a huge ego (once I got towards the end of the book), but it still didn't make it okay. Alec is hilarious; I mean he is absolutely freaking hilarious with his thoughts and his relationship with his male assistant. I could have listened to the two of them all day. However, there was so much content that could have been added to this book to make it FANTASTIC! The relationship between Libby and Alec was so rushed, and I think we (the readers) could have benefited from knowing more about Libby's relationship with her family as well as Alec's relationship with his family and other relatives (don't want to spoil it here).

In my opinion, this is a great beach read because it requires zero thinking, and it's a quick read. On the bright side, I have a found a new author to read!

I can honestly say that with each book I read of Deborah's I'm sucked in more and more!!

This book peaked my interest with the blurb
and sucked me in with the first chapter. I fell in love with Libby, the woman with a little girls name. She's bound to take broadway by storm and she doesn't need complications.

Alec is one big complication wrapped up in a sexy bow. He's known for his conquests and what he does for their careers. Something shifts the moment he sees Libby, there's something different with what he feels.
His past is there and now may collide with his future.

I loved how wrapped up in each character I got, wanting to know more and seeing how their lives go. I found myself making assumptions about both main characters that were off and I love a book that does that!

This is my favorite Deborah Bladon book so far! It grabbed me from the first sentence! I loved it because it was intense, a quick read, and of course so steamy! Deborah Bladon is one of the best when it comes to writing about characters with a filthy mouth. I laughed out loud at some of Alec's sayings and his thoughts. My heart broke when his past was finally revealed. I'm looking forward to the next story written by Deborah as she never disappoints.

Solo. So good, as are all Deborah Bladons books.
Although the sex scenes are explicit, they add depth to the story which have twists and turns and excitement. You feel that you know the characters personally, and feel a keen sense of loss when you've finished reading the books. More soon please. Xxx

To all the girls out there..... The way to a man's heart is now revealed.... That will mean a lot of lollipops to consume for you... And please do a little workout after improving your skills to stay in shape. One question remains: Is the guy worth all the effort? In my humble opinion this Alec guy isn't. Sorry, the story didn't convince me at all. Judge for yourself.

The story grips you from the beginning, you wonder if Libby will ever give in and you feel that it's superficial at first then the storyline takes you further and you become enthralled with the characters. A wonderful love story, well worth the read.
