    Lets get one thing straight, This Is Alexa's Series. Alexa is a soon to be teacher, and Sadie from the Exposed Series best friend. She's a serial dater. What one would describe as a man eater or a woman that has a mans mentality about playing the field. Alexa is a free spirit that doesn't like to take life too seriously. At the end of Exposed she was taking a semester off to travel around Paris and experience life, and Vain is where it picks up when she gets back to Boston fresh off a heartbreak. Noah Noah Noah... Ive read all of Deborah's books (Obsessed, Exposed, and Pulse series), and Noah is the only one that really just made me dislike him. If I could smack his face TWICE, I would. He's a famous photographer that like to capture the raw beauty of a woman. Noah is rude. Theres no other way to say it other than saying that he's a very self centered, selfish, inconsiderate, and well vain.

    All that being said... I FREAKING LOVE THIS BOOK! Alexa's story is one that I was championing for on Facebook, and I'm so happy that it was written. I don't like Noah right now, but don't get it twisted - its the most enjoyable dislike ever. Noah Is Sexy! Period. Such a complex and twisted character that I can't wait to learn about, and I hope that Alexa has her big girl panties on in part 2. You don't have to read the other books, but I highly recommend that you read the Exposed Series before reading this book, and that you read the Obsessed Series before Vain Book 2 comes out (because of the person mentioned at the end). The cliffhanger at the end is of epic proportions (don't fret, they're pretty amazing cliffhangers), but don't let that discourage you because the books release within a couple of weeks of each other. YOU NEED THIS BOOK, and you can't beat the price.

    There are some authors whose books I love, I will read their entire series and fall in love with the characters and their story, and still have no intentions of reading the rest of their books – however, this is not one of those authors..

    READ THIS BOOK, Deborah is an amazing writer!

    I read another review that said this should be called chapter one...it's true. I mean, I'd rather pay $4.99 for a WHOLE stand alone book than $.99 for 1 of 3. I don't keep track well and I read a lot. Perhaps this should be abandoned as a sales strategy. With that said, this book series is OK. I don't love that there isn't more of a pull of attraction between the main characters that is better written. They are both leaving some emotions unspoken and Noah definitely hides a part of himself--but then he claims to feel strongly for Alexa. It would be great to know more about how balancing his sordid past and his current love is torturing Noah. It would also be great to understand why Alexa is "his one." an ok read to fill time, but not a great book.

    Let me start by saying this is my first Deborah Blanton read. How have I managed to miss this author?? I was hesitant at first due to the fact that I'm not a big fan of series books simply because I tend to devour quickly and then have trouble keeping up with publish dates for the follow ups...and a little bit due to the fact that I'm impatient. I took a chance on this one because I fell in love with the cover. And boy am I glad I did! Can you say holy hotness??

    Deborah captured my attention immediately and made it very hard to put down. I read this book in one day and when I turned to the last page I literally wanted to pull my hair out in frustration when I realized the cliffhanger! She has me hook, line and sinker waiting for the next book.

    I recommend this book to any mature reader who isn't easily offended by foul language and really dirty sex scenes (which I am not). It will definately sweep you into a a mini-vacation of fantasy with a hot guy!

    When I saw the description for this e-book I thought it would just be another short, quick read. I read it and how wrong I was! This story has romance, mystery and sensuality all rolled up into one short story and the cliff hanger? By the angel, I just want the next book! The chemistry between these two characters radiate off each page and the way the tension builds in such a short time is amazing. Their first meeting is amusing and the writing is fantastic, I have nothing but praise for this book.

    Alexa has no idea who Noah is and a man is the last thing that she wants after having her heart broken in Paris last semester she just wants to get thru her degree and get a job as a teacher until she meets the pig headed and beautiful Noah Foster.

    Noah and Alexa can feel the sparks but do they want to give into it Noah is a recluse after being stabbed and Alexa has sworn off men especially players that hirer hookers.

    They find themselves sliding down a slippery slope of feelings and neither want to know what the other is thinking and neither has no idea what is happening to them.

    A great read well recommended series

    Naja, so ganz mitreißen konnten mich die Charaktere nicht. Ein einsamer, egozentrischer, seelengequälter Starfotograf, der praktisch die ganze Zeit nackig herumläuft, fängt eine Liaison mit seinem neuen Fotomodel an. Mehr passiert in diesem ersten Teil erstmal nicht. Im zweiten Teil bahnt sich sowas wie eine Beziehung an, aber die Vergangenheit holt beide wieder ein ...
    Der zweite Teil hört auch ziemlich abgehakt auf, doch die Geschichte ist noch lange nicht zu Ende. Wie lange soll der Leser wieder einmal auf die Fortsetzung warten? Es könnte noch ein gutes Buch werden, aber mehr weiß man eben noch nicht.

    PS: Nachdem nun der dritte Teil erschienen ist, haben sich meine Hoffnungen auf eine gute Story nicht erfüllt. Es ging leider noch bergab.

    First of all, I have a huge confession to make (please be indulgent with me): I had never read a book of Deborah Bladon before VAIN... Obviously I have heard about her Pulse series but I have never go for it (my mistake it appears!). So, seriously, my review of this book is not biased by my previous reading from this author.

    As I am reading a lot of romance novel, Amazon sends me a lot of email to inform me of new releases. I usually pass on most of them but I was really intrigued by the cover of VAIN (I have a weakness for tattooed arms), then caught up with the description, and I decided to give it a try! And... Good luck with this one!

    The story is about a nice (but wicked) girl, Alexa, who mets a bad (but hot) guy, Noah... Until then, everything is fine in the romance novel world. What is really changing in this book from my previous reading is that I do NOT like the guy. Seriously, he is a f****** a**! You know it from the beginning but it does not stop you from understanding Alexa and the choices she made in this first part of the series.

    However be prepared, I though I saw it coming, but I did not saw THAT coming! Seriously, that bad? The last page of this first part literally kills me! I really cannot wait for the second part of this series and I really am curious to see (read) how Deborah Bladon is going to make me fall for the guy...
