VAIN - The Complete Series: Part One, Part Two & Part Three Kindle Edition
VAIN - PART ONE
Sex. That's all Noah Foster wanted when Alexa Jackson showed up at his apartment. After returning from a semester in Paris, Alexa is back in her hometown of Boston and looking for anything but the drama that surrounds Noah. He's intense, gifted, famous and a bastard through and through. Alexa doesn't take life too seriously. Noah doesn't do calm and easygoing. Their unexpected meeting sets them both on a course towards an unlikely connection. As Noah embarks on a journey to teach school teacher Alexa the ways of his dark and mysterious world, she's fighting her own demons and the memory of a stranger in Paris. When Alexa's past suddenly becomes her present, she's forced to face the reality of whether the passionate moments she's spent in Noah's arms, in his bed, and in his life mean anything to him, or has it all been in vain?
VAIN - PART TWO
Posing nude for the illustrious Noah Foster seemed like an exciting escape from Alexa's life. No one was supposed to find out, but when the one man who owned her heart, discovers her secret, everything changes. Alexa is not only caught in a compromising position but in a situation in which her past and present collide. Determined to build a future for herself, she takes on the dual task of focusing on her career and burying her past regrets. It's never that easy though, and Noah Foster doesn't give up when he sets his sight on something or someone. As Alexa chases after her own dreams, both men in her life pursue her in a reckless fight to the emotional finish. When one man offers her a proposal almost too tempting to resist, she makes a decision that brings her face-to-face with an unexpected reality.
VAIN - PART THREE
Alexa Jackson was falling hard and fast for Noah Foster. The world renowned photographer had woven a path straight into her heart. He offered her another chance at love and she offered him the path to a world that he no longer believed existed for him. That all ground to a startling halt when Alexa came face-to-face with Noah's past. Not everything is as it seems and as he helps her piece together the puzzles that exist within his world, they both realize that their needs might not match what's best for either of them. As Alexa begins a new life away from Noah, she's faced with new opportunity, past reminders and an uncertain future. He can't face what's happened to him. She can't face a life without him. Will they finally discover a way to help one another find love again?

- Reviewed in the United States on November 18, 2014Format: KindleVerified PurchaseI read this series back to back so I will put brief thoughts to each book in this review.
Part 1: Of course part 1 was good so I had to continue on to next piece of the story. I felt like the chapters were a little choppy (not a smooth transition) but the story was interesting enough to keep going. I want to find out more....
Part 2: Good story. Again, a little choppy with the chapter transitions and a few typos but overall a good read. Have to continue on to the next part!
Part 3: Favorite book of the 3 part series! It's sweet, endearing, and unexpected. A few typos but it was a good finale to the series!
- Reviewed in the United States on June 30, 2015Format: KindleVerified PurchaseSeriously, only buy the books with all of them included because as soon as you finish one, you won't want to wait to start the next one. Alexa and Noah are amazing characters and, as I've read the rest of Ms Bladon's books about these circle of friends out of order, it was nice to know how their relationship started. Parts are hilarious, others quite sad, but it still makes for an engaging story. Enjoy!
- Reviewed in the United States on December 5, 2014Format: KindleVerified PurchaseThis was the first book(s) that I've read by this author. I loved this box set. The character of Noah is fresh and I loved the depth of the story in terms of overcoming past experiences and opening himself up to love. The love scenes were well written and for the most part the pacing was good, though there was a lot of being together/breaking up and at times it felt a little over the top.
I liked it so much I bought Deborah's other series. After reading two additional box sets, this one is still my favorite out of what I've read. It's nice that you don't really have to read them in order either, you can pick up any of them and jump right in.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 29, 2015Format: KindleVerified PurchaseI enjoyed getting to know the main characters & how the navigate their relationship develops. I felt the h's frustration when she tries to draw out H back into society. Beside the sex being F***ing HOT, the obstacles that seemed stacking against them & people from the past can't leave it where it belongs ... in the Past. If this is your type of genre the it's a must read & have fan near to cool yourself afterwards. Enjoy!

When Alexa offers to drop off a delivery for her friend, she has no idea that she would be knocking on the door of the famous recluse photographer, Noah Foster. When the same Noah Forster opens the door completely naked and mistakenly takes Alexa for something else, things become a bit more challenging. Alexa is shocked but enticed by this recluse of a man. Noah is taken aback by the smart witted Alexa and offers her a contract where she can make money. Alexa can’t deny the man looks like a mythical creature with his defined body, beautiful tattoos and large appendage. However Alexa is still heartbroken over her failed romance in Paris. Could Noah Foster be just what she needs to get over this? Noah is arrogant and full of himself to a degree, but there is a secret he is keeping. Alexa wears her heart on her sleeve and makes no apology for who she is. You will feel for her, what she went through in Paris was shocking but I am sure there is more to the story. Will her past come back to bite her? Overall, this was a really enticing read, with plenty of mysteriousness, angst and suspense.
Vain Book2 (4 Stars)
Alexa arrives at the show in New York while waiting patiently for Noah. Instead her past arrives. Beck makes no secret that he wants her back. Noah seems to have a flock of woman vying for his attention and all seem to look a lot similar to Alexa. After the disastrous New York weekend, Noah starts to open up a bit more. He tells Alexa about his scar and she understands his insecurities. He seems besotted with Alexa and their relationship seems to grow. However there seem to be a few warning signs along the way. First Beck warns her. Then Ari, who is supposed to be Noah’s best friend, also warns her. It seems that everyone still believes that Camilla has a hold over Noah. When Noah decides to do something out of his comfort zone, Alexa is thrilled until she arrives for their date. What Noah did to Alexa was soul destroying and you will have empathy for her. This books ends on a cliff hanger and you really will be left feeling rather perplexed over Noah and what he has done. Can he redeem himself in book3? Can Alexa get to the bottom of this or should she run as fast as she can to get away? The author has done a superb job of once again, enticing the reader. There is so much mystery and suspense. I am looking forward to book 3.
Vain Book 3 (2 Stars)
Alexa wants answers but Noah does not give them. Deciding to move on with her life she moves to NY where she takes up a job as a substitute teacher along with waitressing. Months later, Noah makes contact with her; she goes running back to him. And for me personally this is where the book fell flat. Noah explains his insecurities and his guilt for his past. While I can understand this, it does not explain everything. What was his obsession of always being naked? With his insecurities, why then, did every girl look like his ex? There is a love story but for some reason there was no chemistry. I also did not feel that Noah paid for his sins with regards to what he put Alexa through. Especially knowing what she went through with Beck.. I wanted Noah to step out of his comfort zone and fight for Alexa, which he did not really do. Instead Alexa always went back and never really made him work for her love. The third book for me was not great, there were editing issues as well as the story felt forced. We do get our HEA and the author wraps up the story, but again I felt like something was missing. Overall it was okay.

- Reviewed in the United States on April 16, 2015Format: KindleVerified PurchaseI read this grouping of novellas after reading the novellas AFTER this one... yet I still really enjoyed this. Noah and Alexa, a couple I normally don't think I would like in a book like this, really worked for me, and I loved seeing the progression of their relationship and dance around one another. Their personalities and who they were just really seemed to be... real... and that was nice to read, even with the thrown-in drama that I've come to expect from Blandon.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 19, 2014Format: KindleVerified PurchaseVain was an amazing story of Alexa and Noah. Alexa has moved back to NYC from Paris, after she met a man and fell in love, only to find out he was cheating on her with a long term girlfriend. Heartbroken and sickened, she starts rooming with one of her BFFs, Sadie while finishing up her teaching degree, and trying to find her own place to live.
On an accidental delivery to The Noah Fosters aoartment, he invites her inside and asks if she would like to model for his next nude photography shoot. She isnt entirely into the pornographic photo thing, but she's determined to get inside noahs pants, at the very least.
As the story progresses, Alexa and Noahs relationship grows, and theres some ups and downs that are quite unexpected. Noahs scar on his face has driven him to solitude, and that begins getting to Alexa because she wants Noah right by her side as they live their beautiful lives.
I give it five stars because not only was it a well put together story, it also sucked me in and i was reading it at dinner, work, and late into the night. The characters wormed their way inside my mind and still havent left. After reading this, i recommend Risk by Deborah, although i made the mistake of reading risk before vain.

5.0 out of 5 stars Noah is a man like no other
Format: KindleVerified PurchaseNoah Foster is shockingly well shocking. He’s tainted and deeply scared and his very first words are beyond hot; “You’re staring at my dick.” He’s so matter of fact. I can’t help but respect that. He’s dark and edgy, that’s what Bladon tells us and she is so not wrong. Noah is a man like no other. He’s cocky. 100% arrogant. Alpha Male Extraordinaire. This book is definitely one of my favourites.
Alexa is young and has just gotten out of a relationship when she first meets Noah. He opens his door and he’s completely naked. Who would have thought one of my favourite books could start with a sandwich???
Alexa has a choice to make; money or sex. Noah’s a photographer so there is loads of sexy moments with his camera, not to mention he’s always naked. Alexa isn’t your typical innocent heroine. She tells Noah as much. She likes sex. She’s sexually aware and her thoughts are pretty hot.
This book was heart wrenching. As always there are cliffhangers that kill – especially when you have to wait for the next part in the serial. Noah breaks his own word, his own boundaries to the point where I want to shout and rage at him only to learn that I might be wrong and as if that’s not enough Alexia’s ex has followed her back from Paris... it’s just a nightmare for a little while.
In fact it’s a nightmare for a long while. Instead of waking up, I just go deeper and deeper into the darkness that is Noah Foster. Then just when I think there is no light. Alexa leaves and finds herself in New York but it’s dark there too but now it’s a new darkness; it’s the darkness that comes when Noah Foster isn’t in your life.
I love this series more than I can tell you. The cliffhangers almost killed me but it was well worth it in the end.

4.0 out of 5 stars Yummy.
Format: KindleVerified PurchaseReally enjoyed this series. For awhile you wonder who is going to end up being the real love of Alexa's life. I hoped it would be Noah even though he could be a bit of an ass sometimes, yet I couldn't help loving him also. The one thing which disappointed was the ending. It suddenly felt rushed and, for me, would have been more enjoyable had we been able to live thhrough some of the changes with them. All in all though, an enjoyable read.
I have read several books from this author and enjoyed them all so far.
