About the authors
Thanks for checking out my Amazon landing page. Please click FOLLOW to keep up with my prolific launch schedule. I can’t do this without a whole bunch of amazing readers.
Scott Moon is the co-author of the bestselling Homeworld Lost, The Last Reaper, Terran Strike Marines, and Darklanding series. His solo works include Blue Sun Armada, Invasion Day, the Chronicles of Kin Roland, and more. As a lifelong fan of reading and a chronic daydreamer, he has retired from twenty-six years of public service to make his own schedule, indulge his imagination, and pursue a variety of hobbies. He’s an 80s kid who survived to (relative) maturity and it shows.
You can join his Facebook Group, The Scott Moon Base, or learn more than you ever wanted to about his writing process at Scott’s Science Fiction Substack.
Craig is a million-selling author of science fiction (post-apocalyptic, military sci-fi, and space opera), thrillers, and non-fiction.
Craig retired from the Marine Corps after a long career in the military intelligence community, having worked with most of the U.S. Government's three-letter agencies. After a short stint with physical security, Craig went to law school, graduated summa cum laude, and went into business consulting. From intelligence, to the inner workings of company board rooms, to on-the-ground leadership, Craig has seen it firsthand.
His books are an extension of his experience, putting the trials and tribulations of a fast-paced world into your hands. Whether in Science Fiction, Thrillers, Fantasy, or even his Non-Fiction, you'll find consistent themes of justice and doing right by those who are counting on their leaders. Leadership is a service, not a crown to lord over others.
No matter where Craig went, he always had a book with him. Thanks to 21st Century technology, He now has thousands of books at his fingertips and with him wherever he goes. How many books would he have read on deployments had he not had to carry a physical book?
No one is encumbered like that now. Craig loves the works of Robert Heinlein, Anne McCaffrey, Andre Norton, JRR Tolkien, Robert E. Howard, and so many more. He has been compared to Andre Norton and that is humbling - she was an incredible author with a huge list of novels to her credit. With every new book, Craig aspires to live up to those that you, the readers, have compared him to.
Through a bizarre series of events, Craig ended up in Fairbanks, Alaska. He never expected to retire to a place where golf courses are only open for four months out of the year. But that's the way it is. It is off the beaten path. He and his wife get to watch the northern lights from their driveway. Their dog has lots of room to run, just until temperatures reach fifty below zero. They have from three and a half hours of daylight in the winter to twenty-four hours in the summer.
It’s all part of the give and take of life. If they didn’t have those extremes, then everyone would live in the sub-arctic.

- Reviewed in the United States on April 24, 2018Scott Moon and Craig Martelle have done it again, they’ve given us all an excellent adventure in this latest Darklanding episode.
All of the characters we know and love are there in “Race to the Finish” and some new faces as well.
This particular story is a bit different from the previousin Darklanding stories in that it involves an illegal race, made legal by circumstance.
If enough money is involved then anything can happen regardless, if you catch my drift (pun intended).
Our fine sheriff, Thaddeus, acts a bit out of character this time though. He’s actually jealous of the attention the company man, Shaunte, is getting from a little rich boy pro-driver and challenges him to race against him in the main event.
No more spoilers here though. Let’s suffice to say that you’ll need to read this superb sci-fi tale to see what happens, including the huge twist at the end.
Of course Darklanding never really ends and that’s why I’m looking forward to the next episode, “Boomtown”. Join me, won’t you?!
- Reviewed in the United States on April 10, 2018If you like the world of Darklanding, this one is probably the most fun romp through (literally!) the planet with its deep secrets.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 4, 2018I say this everytime I read one of these books - this one is my favorite! But I mean it this time (at least until I read the next one) This series as a whole is fun and entertaining. I love the characters - ok, ok, Mast may be my favorite with the Sheriff right on his heels. Do yourself a favor and pick this one up. It's worth it!

- Reviewed in the United States on April 17, 2018Read the Authors description, just like that!! Love this series. Read each new episode as soon as it comes out.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 21, 2018I am enjoying this Darklanding series quite a bit. Like Gunsmoke in space, each episode leaves you wanting a little more. You become attached to the characters and invested it where this story goes.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 27, 2020I know really bad things are going to happen, partially because I checked the blurbs and the books before I started reading tne series. But, also, because Mast is very sick, the planet's secrets aren't so secret anymore, and modern sci fi doesn't seem to believe in HEA.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 7, 2020Don't stand in sheriffs way, especially if you're dirty. The law is the law.

Brilliant. The plot thickens on Dark Landing. The story held me from start to finish, and I'm looking forward to diving right into Boom Town. Thank you for a well-told tale.
