Don't Let Me Fall Kindle Edition
I don't want to be here.
When you lose the one person that was your whole life, you'll understand. For me, it was my best friend, Alice. We spent every second of every day together. We planned a life. I was actually living. I was happy.
Now, it's just gone.
And I'm still here. Lonely. A tatted up body with an empty soul.
Getting inside of my head won't be pretty. I'm warning you now that you won't like me. I hate people besides my family. I hate everything around me. I just want to be alone. And I hate how Logan Mercer doesn't understand that. He's everywhere; getting inside of my head, kissing me when he shouldn't be, messing everything up, and trying to get me to open up. He's making me crazier than I already am. Why do I need to talk about my life? Why does he even care?
Why doesn't anyone understand that I don't want to get attached to people? I don't want to get fixed.
I want to be alone.
I want to be free.
I want to fly.
My name is Rebeckah Lennox and this is my story...of how I fell.

About the author

Briana Pacheco is the author of New Adult novels, a twin, a dreamer, a tattoo lover, easily swooned by accents, and a little bit of an extrovert but a whole lot of introvert.
She loves hearing from readers about anything so please don't be shy, say hi!

- Reviewed in the United States on November 10, 2019Format: KindleVerified PurchaseI loved it. It's very intense and very well written about depression. It's a must read. It's a can't put down read.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 4, 2014Format: KindleDon't let me Fall is a wonderful story of Love and Forgiving ones self. I love how Briana Pacheco brings this story to us, it starts as many other new adult novels, with the heroine of the story starting college. Only, this time, she's at a new school, trying to get away from bad memories and move on with her life. That is where the similarities end.
Rebeckah (Becky) has been through a serious trauma, and it has affected her life in many ways. She doesn't make friends, she doesn't do realtionships, and she's rather hard to talk to sometimes. She feels serious amounts of guilt over her past traumatic experience and she often questions why she's still living. Becky also has a lot going on her in normal everyday life. Family struggles are the fore front of why she's come home.
Logan enters Becky's life at the start of the school year, first glance and he knows there's something about her, but she doesn't want to give him the time of day. Logan doesn't let that deter him though, and through his sister, Aimee's new-found friendship with Becky, he moves in and doesn't give up.
Becky doesn't know how to handle it at first, this guy horning in on her life and trying to make her feel things she doesn't want to feel. She doesn't want a relationship, she doesn't want a steady guy in her life.
But in the way of true love, Logan doesn't back down and eventually Becky starts to give in. Only to have things blow up in her face. (sorry, No spoilers here) Their path wasn't easy and there was a lot to work through, but Don't Let Me Fall was a powerful story that was both heart breaking and swoon worthy at points. I enjoyed every last word of this beautiful story.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 15, 2022Format: KindleI haven’t willingly read a book in 6 years. I started a different one but lost interest quickly. Crazy enough, I found this book in accident when looking for another one with the same title, and made it about halfway through before I realized it was a different book. That doesn’t mean it was the wrong one though, this book had my interest for the entirety of every single page. I highly recommend this book to anyone, as it is impossible to not see a reflection of yourself in at least one of the characters. This is *the* book that will allow me to start reading again.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 6, 2014Format: KindleOmg, how much pain can one person take before they are irreparably broken? I found myself thinking this quite often while reading this book. There are definitely some darker elements and emotional moments in this story and it started right in the beginning. This book was about Becka who survived the death of her best friend but is no longer really living and not sure she even wants to. She's just going through the motions more out of love for her family than any real desire on her part, until she meets Logan, and then everything changes.
Becka was a very intense leading lady. She had so much she had been through, was going through and still had to go through. She fought her growth and change every step of the way. But her love for family was endearing and drew me in even through some of her less flattering moments.
Logan was amazing. Funny and hot and always there for Becka. But he sure was NOT perfect, which made him even better.
There were so many secondary characters in this story, but they all added something to the story or helped the main characters in some way.
There were so many twists and turns and if you thought you knew where it was going next, you quickly found out you were wrong. There were a few minor editing errors. And a LOT of use of the F word. If you are not big on profanity usage in a romance, then you may be surprised. But overall this was a good story which I would certainly recommend.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 17, 2015Format: KindleVerified PurchaseThe author builds up suspense very nicely. She showed us that the narrator, Rebeckah, has gone through some trauma involving her best friend Alice, but we didn't know exactly what. We were given bits and pieces as Rebeckah has occasional flashbacks, but the flashbacks are incomplete. We knew that this incident seems to have broken Rebeckah, but that she's also under stress because her 14-year-old sister has leukemia.
The development of the relationship between Rebeckah and Logan was also done very well. She meets him and his twin sister when she switches back to Northeastern University for her final year of college, and they both just won't leave her alone. I loved that she wouldn't fall for Logan's charm. She puts up a tough exterior, hoping to get everyone to back off, but deep down she's struggling to hold herself together. Somehow, slowly, Logan gets under her skin. When she has a breakdown, he's right there and he helps her come back from the brink. Eventually, they develop a relationship of sorts.
The problem came halfway through the book when yet another tragic incident occurs. Exactly how many things can go wrong in this woman's life?! And then the hateful message she receives... that just felt too over the top. People aren't so malicious unless there's a good reason, and it just didn't feel like a good reason. From then on, the plot became more and more ridiculous. The whole situation with Logan. The truth behind what happened to Alice and Rebeckah in Washington. The last person's involvement and motive. Unbelievable!
The first half of the book was so strong. Great characterization for Rebeckah: her anguish and despair, her fight to hang on for her sister's sake, her struggle with the darkness that threatens to overwhelm her. The suspense, as we don't know what really happened with Alice, and why Rebeckah blames herself for it. The development of her relationship with Logan, how she slowly begins to let him in, almost despite herself. Unfortunately, the second half of the book was a farce and a great disappointment. It stretched the bounds of reality so far that instead of feeling for Rebeckah as I had before, I started rolling my eyes. That's never a good sign. It felt like the author didn't know how to resolve the issues she had set up at the beginning at the book, and chose the most dramatic, convoluted, and unbelievable way to do so. I was all ready to give five stars, but because of the second half of the book, the highest I can give is three.
