Darklanding Omnibus Books 4-6: Runaway, An Unglok Murder, SAGCON (Darklanding Omnis Book 2) Kindle Edition

4.7 out of 5 stars 91 ratings

A frontier world. One Sheriff. And all the action one spaceport can't hold. Darklanding is the wild west of known space. Sheriff Thaddeus Fry‘s assignment as the Sheriff of Darklanding, could be a do-nothing job, or it could get him killed.

Book 04 – The runaway’s story comes to the fore, and it’s far more than anyone suspected.

Book 05 - Ungloks don’t kill their own, or do they? Sheriff Fry and Deputy Mast Jotham are forced into the underbelly of Darklanding, into a world they didn’t know existed. Surprises are nonstop when they find out who else knows.

Book 06 - Centauri Prime was an epic failure, especially for a battle they supposedly won.

Strange doings in Darklanding have Sheriff Fry chasing down a terrorist, ferreting out the murderer of an Unglok citizen of the old town, and running a survey of the planet only to find another colony of Unglok on the other side of the planet, situated right where the military is planning to set up a training base for a new ultra commando unit. He's got his work cut out for him, no one's talking and clues are thin. It seems the 'morgue' has a few extra bodies and no documentation to be found from the former sheriff. Business as usual, Fry and Deputy Mast do their best to get to the bottom of the mess and sort out the clues from the red herrings. The story grows on you, I start reading thinking just a chapter or two before bed and the next thing I know it's 5 am and the sun is coming up. It's quirky but compelling in it's own way.

I was first introduced to this author at a comicon and since then have quite enjoyed his books. Darklanding in particular is one of my favorite series. It reads almost like a western but in space. Small town lawman in the middle of absolutely nowhere.

What if space exploration turned into just everyday business where the bottom line is profitable rape of resources of undeveloped worlds.

I'll start with the negative. I'm ready for the rest of the series but it's not finished yet. Super ugh!
Now for the 5 stars. A well written story that is so fleshed out you find yourself watching the movie in your head with no commercials. Great fun with everything included, murder mystery, aliens (that would be us), romance, saloons, and a sheriff. Love it and panting for more.

Awesome adventure with old friends who grow and mature on each page. I look forward to the next book to see what happens next. I keep waiting for something surprisingly weird to develop with the getting fatter, constantly farting pig/dog. I read on with high expectations of being well entertained.

good characters and action, the sherif is very interesting ,nice job turning a war vet into a police officer.he has a good sense of honor which keeps him in trouble which makes the story more interesting.

Read through all 6 books as the story never stopped, screaming for #7. The story is a fast paced western space opera at Warp 6..., Thank you.
