Dead To Me (Cold Case Psychic Book 5) Kindle Edition

4.6 out of 5 stars 961 ratings

Psychic, Tennyson Grimm, was kicked out of his house and disowned by his religious parents when he came out to them as gay and psychic. The last thing Tennyson’s father said before the teenager boarded a Greyhound bus to Boston was that his son was dead to him. Flash forward thirteen years later, Tennyson couldn’t have been more surprised when he woke to find the newly dead spirit of his father sitting on the end of his bed. David Grimm had one request of his estranged son. Go to Kansas and reunite with his mother.

Cold Case Detective, Ronan O’Mara, was all for this family reunion. Still recovering from injuries suffered during his last criminal investigation, he figures they’ll fly to Kansas, bury Tennyson’s father, and the hatchet with Kaye Grimm, then come back to Boston in time to plan their upcoming wedding.

When the Union Chapel Sheriff comes to Tennyson and Ronan with a years old cold case he’d like them to look into, the Boston-based duo can’t turn down taking a peek at the case file. Tennyson is easily able to figure out whodunit, but the sheriff is leery to believe in his gift, bringing old prejudices back to life, and leaving Ronan to hunt for physical evidence the killer left behind.

Will Ronan be able to solve the cold case and help Tennyson resolve the decade old feud with his mother? Or will the tornado, with its sights set on the tiny town of Union Chapel, Kansas, make the other questions moot?

Sick of the slogging rat-race of her 9-5 job, Pandora Pine put pen to paper (literally!) to make her ambition of becoming a romance novelist a reality. She cut her teeth in the dog-eat-dog world of fan fiction, still dreaming of the day when she would be a published author.

In her spare time, Pandora fancies herself an amateur nature photographer. She enjoys mucking around in swamps, hiking through the woods and crawling around on her hands and knees in her backyard seeking out the perfect shot. Pandora is a fan of roadside seafood shacks and always thinks Mexican food is a good idea at the time.

Some of Pandora’s favorite things are chocolate, writing longhand with purple pens, and handsome men falling in love with each other.

This was an emotional and healing continuation of the cop-psychic romantic suspense adventures of Ronan and Tennyson. Ronan is a Boston police detective assigned to the cold case division. Tennyson is a psychic who has worked as Ronan’s partner to help solve cases. This book picks up where the fourth book ended. Ronan and Tennyson are engaged and live together and Ronan has recovered from getting shot. Tennyson wakes up one night to his father’s ghost. He has just died and asks Tennyson to return to his hometown to help his mother to plan the funeral and the rest of her life. To go back there, Tennyson has to once again deal with the fact that his parents kicked him out 13 years before on the day he graduated HS for being gay and a psychic. He has not spoken to them since. While Ronan and Tennyson are in the largely unwelcoming and very conservative community, the local sheriff asks for Ronan and Tennyson’s help solving a cold case. As they attempt to assist with the town’s cold case, Ronan and Tennyson are welcomed by some residents and sneered at by others. As always, the story was well written and included witty dialogue, three dimensional main characters, a rich and diverse supporting cast, and an engaging storyline with sweet moments, steamy scenes, action, dangerous situations, ghosts, loyal friends, tragic back stories, mystical coincidences, snark, plot twists, big feels, prejudices, and laughs. I love being a part of Ronan and Tennyson’s world.

Lots of family drama, a murder to solve, and plans to be made. I loved seeing more of Greely. It was great to see him flourish. I suspected the murderer from the beginning but not all the gory details. I’m looking forward to the next book.

Well, this book was interesting and of course great! I can't say it enough that this is a great series.

Ten's dad dies and visits him after 17 years in ghost form. What a heck of a kicker for Ten. His father wants him to go home to help his mother take care of his funeral and make sure she's set up and doing well on her own.

Ten could never do this without his fiance Ronan, and then their close friends/boss Kevin and his son. Ten was prepared for the reception he would receive but after days of Ten's disgruntled mother, even Ronan was losing patience. On top of that, the town sheriff asks Ronan and Ten to look into a cold case file they have on their books; the only case file the town has ever had.

This is another wonderful addition to the Cold Case Psychic Series and it's full of everything one loves about the series. The bonus at the end with Ronan and Ten finally becoming husband and husband!

I was so excited to read the latest installment of this series! By now, I feel like I know Ronan and Tennyson pretty well, but I wondered how they would fare going to back to Tennyson's hometown, in the middle of Nowhere, Kansas. Dealing with Tennyson's bitter, homophobic mother, and the aftermath with father's death, they show that their relationship is stronger than ever. It's really gratifying to read about an established relationship and how they deal with challenges as a united front. We get to see more of Kevin and Greeley in this installment as well. Of course there is an old murder case that they are asked to consult on, and this one is pretty chilling. With a lot of humor and strength, these to are able to handle just about anything. Do yourself a favor and grab a copy of this book. You'll be so glad that you did~

This series is awesome. Psychics and detectives. Tennyson has to face his past in this story, with his father turning up as a ghost. His parents had disowned him when he was seventeen. It led them back to Kansas, to help his bigoted mother cope. Along the way , they were asked to help with a ten year old cold case. Many emotions surface, truths faced and beliefs questioned. I love this series and I love Tennyson and Ronan. Keep them coming please.

Tennyson Grimm, psychic medium, finally gets a chance to deal with his past. But he never thought it would happen after a visit from a dead parent, let alone his own. Ronan O'Mara knows Ten's past is holding him hostage and when his love and support give Ten the courage to face his past they get to lay some issues to rest and decide just what kind of future they'll build for themselves. The local law enforcement, however, has an additional request for the pair. A local cold case brings Ronan and Ten a bit of a gruesome and disturbing surprise before they can head back home to move on with their lives.

I'm really loving the softer, sweeter side of Ronan. He's truly growing into someone amazing. The way he supports Ten, even to the point of encouraging him to confront hard and painful things is awesome. As a partner for Ten he really is the more well-rounded of the two.

Ten has a lot to face. Not only does he have the prejudice of his parents and the town to deal with, but something he didn't realize was his own. His refusal to forgive and move on has colored his whole outlook on his youth that he forgot the many good things about what he was forced to leave behind. This particular book was necessary for Ten's evolution because you could see how he was actually kind of backsliding in the last couple books because of his inability to let the negative parts of his past go and to embrace the good. I thought it was a good way to close a chapter on that and to open a new one just in time for his wedding.

Speaking of the wedding, I'm glad we didn't have to slog through the details of all the plans but got straight to the important parts and the amazing things Ronan got to witness and experience. It was moving beyond anything I could have hoped for...something desperately needed after the incredibly disturbing things they discovered while solving Union Chapel's cold case.

That case was horrible. Awful. Disgusting. Disturbing. I predicted most of what happened in that case but the level it was taken to by the end was a bit too far, I feel. Not that I'm asking the author to shy away from the bad things that really do happen, I just think the little mentions after the truth came to light was a couple steps too far. It brought up some disturbing things and just left it open, on the surface, in our faces instead of putting it to rest before giving us such happiness with Ten and Ronan's wedding. Also, I don't know if I'm completely on-board with their little band of "consultants". Though they did get the results by the end. Where things will move concerning Greeley is interesting, however, so I'm looking forward to seeing what will happen next for this group.

Do we forgive the past? Lots to think about in this book. We all have past stuff we have issues with and whether or not you can really forgive and accept other people's mistakes or prejudices is a big part of this book.
I love this series and this book. Lots of laughs plus a great crime story and wonderful characters. Please just keep these coming. I have pre ordered the next book and will continue to do so. I would recommend this series to anyone with an open mind and a good sense of humour.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best book to date !!! Simply awesome and beautiful. 10 Psychic readings

Okay, I'm in a quandary, do I wax poetic about how awesome this installment was? or do I tone it down a tad and just fangirl crush on Pandora Pine's awesomeness?. Yep, it's easy to see I'm in a pickle Dick.

This latest book from Pandora Pine's brilliant Cold Case Psychic series was fabulous, emotional and beautiful, a little dark and sad, and could Ronan O'Mara love Tenn any more than he does? I doubt it, the man loves unconditionally you'd swear he was a fallen Angel.

As with the rest of the series, Book 5 follows on straight after book 4, small time gap and as you'd expect given it's a series, it's not a standalone at all, you need to read the other four books to find out what's what and who's who, where everyone is. Plus honestly why wouldn't you want to read all this awesomeness.

Pandora Pine stepped up her game this time around, this installment touched on some difficult subject matter, ( of Tenn being thrown out of his home for coming out) religious bigotry, small town small-mindedness, murder, incest, you name it, even the kitchen sink and yet there were so many genuinely funny laugh out loud moments, I actually highlights some they were that funny. And I never highlight anything.

For folks that haven't experienced the cleverness of Pandoa Pine, lemme tell you, honestly your really missing out. I bought her first Cold Case book, as soon as it came out, and traveled with her as she released four more fabulous books in this clever, clever series, and you can see how her writing has improved. Now its smoother, witty, refined, cleverer if that's at all possible, but what I love the most is that she doesn't make our men dumb. Oh, for that alone she warrants my devoted support.

This book see Tenn, go back to Kansas, back to his childhood home after the sudden death of his father. Apart from David Grimm's sudden demise, things have not changed for the Grimm household, bigotry is still rife and Tennyson, and Ronan by association, are caught up in Kaye Grimm's vile bible thumping sights.

There is absolutely no doubting that Pandora Pine wanted to make a point here, and she did, loud and clear, but it was with a deft hand, Kaye was ugly, religiously close-minded ugly, and yet the whole book felt lighter than what it could have been if not for Pine's delicate touch. The humor hands down saved the book so many witty, funny exchanges between Tenn and Ronan, they added much needed relief and light to dark subjects. And the love, so much love between Ronan and Tennyson, it leapt off the pages and made it easier to digest the cruelty that was spewing from the people who should have championed and protected Tenn.

Then, just when you'd think Ronan and Tenn are at their last tether, ground down by such hatred, in comes much needed love and support from their wonderful family, in the form of Kevin and Greeley. Just what the doctor ordered. So good and a brilliant example of how family doesn't need to be blood related, and that blood related family isn't always what you need.

Then Pine went another step further and added her signature Cold Case mystery, after all that's who Ronan and Tenn are, super sleuths, the dynamic duo, champions for the betrayed. As with Pine's other books, she's not stingy with her words nor her direction, so it as easy to see where this was going, and while some might go, huh, I figured it out before the chips all fell, I just want to remind you that in this series, that will always be the case, because of Tenn's abilities, and Ronan's awesomeness, and all the help the boys get from the other side (Bertha, Erin and the victim's their investigating) then add in Tenn and Ronan's evolving connection, I love where their headed.

Pandora Pine could have left us there, mystery and ugly homecoming, but because she's fabulous she didn't. I wont say anymore, but we all know where Ronan and Tennyson were headed at the end of book 4, so buckle up and sit back with a good coffee and wrap your laughing gear around this terrific book. You wont be disappointed, I promise.

So, do I recommend this book? In case it wan't clear (see above) Oh the hell yes I do!! 10 Psychic stars and worth more. I'm super excited to see another book in the works and I've pre-ordered it already, I cannot wait.

When Tennyson Grimm is awoken from his sleep it is to find his newly deceased Father who begs him to go home and help his widow, Ten's Mother. Ten struggles with returning to the family who abandoned him but in the end he and Ro decide to go back.

Kaye Grimm is struggling to cope but doesn't want anything to do with her son and fiance. In the midst of the funeral the local Sheriff asks for help solving a decades old murder. With Fitz and Greely along for the ride they set about finding out the truth. But no one could have foreseen how twisted the plot would become.

I am on the fence with this book. The murder side of the story was interesting but I seriously wanted to ring Kaye Grimm's homophobic neck. The pain she put Ten through and the things she said to him and Ro made me cringe. Overall I think the good outways the bad in this Free Kindle Unlimited book.

Dead To Me is a fabulous addition to the Cold Case Psychic series. It was at times amusing, at times emotional and at times it made me feel just plain queasy (the killer and their reason for doing so). Amazing book though.
