Dad Bod Secret Prince: Dad Bod Series - Men Built for Comfort Kindle Edition

3.9 out of 5 stars 262 ratings

Richard:
Having had enough of my parents pestering me about taking a wife, I decide to escape to New York City for some time to decompress and leave the Royal Family behind for once.
My last night there before returning home, I attend a party where I meet the most mesmerizing vision that I’ve ever seen in my life.
The night we spend together is simply magical. The only thing I would’ve changed is telling her who I really am instead of using my nick name “Rick”.

Nerissa:
Attending a huge party in New York City is not how I would normally spend a Saturday evening. Staying at home, munching on junk food, and binging tv shows on streaming channels, now that’s more like it.
But, then again, if I had stayed home, I wouldn’t have gotten the chance to spend an amazing night with a wonderful man.
I wonder if I’ll ever see him again…

Dad Bods made a big impression in 2021 - and they're not going anywhere! This January, some of your favorite contemporary romance authors are bringing you a sexy selection of brawny, hot Dad Bods and the women who love their men with a little something extra to hold on to.
These men may be built for comfort but don't be fooled - they will stop at nothing to protect the women who've claimed their hearts

This story had my face hurting from smiling so much! Such a sweet story! I recommend 100%. It’s a quick read but totally worth it!

A fast cute read but formulaic in its approach . While it was an interesting story the writing style was a bit step-by-step.

Great fun and an easy pace. I find that being your true self is what is more important. I believe that Richard could've been an azz when it came to just bedding anyone he wants, insured he finds the love of his life.

Richard is tired of his parents talking about him finding a wife, he understands that he is heir to throne, but her wants what they have. It is hard to find someone who loves you for yourself not who you are. He decides to take a vacation, and eventually ends up in New York at a party with his old roommate from Oxford.

Nerissa was talked into going to a party with her friend, when she prefers to stay at home. Then she meets Rick, the chemistry is instantaneous and they spend the night together and he ghosts her in the morning. She is heartbroken, she thought it was something special. Two months after that night her friend shows her an announcement of his engagement.

She suggests they go to so she can confront him, should she?

The writing is awkward and contrived making me think of young or inexperienced writer. This was particularly obvious in the segments of dialog, but is found throughout the text. For example, when describing the prince's visit to NYC he is sightseeing "from dawn to dusk" and multiple obvious NYC landmarks are listed. I could not read beyond that page as the writing was so stilted! Other phrases and terms used in the text are also amateurish (and I have already given this book more attention than it warrants).

    Loved this story.

Richard is being pressured to getting married, needing to escape he heads to New York and attends a event where he meets Nerissa, and spends a wonderful night together, only to have to go home due to an emergency. Lucky fate and friends are able to bring Nerissa and Richard back together.

It is a fast read with twists and turns that will melt your heart.

Super-basic take on the royal trope. Nerissa isn’t given much backstory or character description, so there’s nothing to grow, there. Richard is an obedient royal, bringing no fire to his role or the relationship. The writing style also hit this reader as unsophisticated, and the dad bod content was negligible.

Richard wants the type of relationship that his parents has but at the age of thirty, he hasn't found the woman yet. When his parents give him an ultimatum, he has two months to find her, or they will arrange a wife for him. When he goes toa party he literally runs into Nerissa. Their union will set in place the beginning to him having the type of love that his parents has but not before a few mishaps take place along the way!

4.0 out of 5 stars Will Nerissa get her fairy tale happy ending
Reviewed in Australia on February 7, 2022
Richard is the prince of a small European country; he leaves home when his father insists on him finding a bride. Richard meets a beautiful young woman who he has a one-night stand with. In the morning a family emergency has him leaving her asleep in his bed, an order from the King has a third party getting involved and stopping them from keeping in touch. When the King announces that the prince’s engagement Nerissa is heartbroken. But a fairy tale needs a happy ending and when the person who interferes in the first-place steps forward and help Nerissa reconnect with her man. This is a sweet story that has great characters and is well written.
