    Charon, blonde, a big muscled man with whiskey colored eyes, is calm yet chaotic.
    Paine, with violet eyes, lean and lithe, a beautiful, tormented man.
    Each man is the other half of a whole being. They were both raised in cages, grew up, surviving, stayed safe, but missing their destiny. How can Charon make the threats disappear?
    Charon found Paine, and had to see him. Charon makes it to Quentin's, but will they be able to leave together?
    Paine is living as a cat, free to roam Quentin's mansion. Charon is watching, thinking and hoping to get through to him man. We learn about Quentin and Snow's story, and we find Quentin has kept everyone safe. Paine has new scars that Charon had never seen.
    Charon must do his best to win Paine over again. For that to happen completely, he calls Allistair and they fly to the horrible place that started it all. The treats must be eliminated.
    When Charon comes back, Paine is delighted, yet wary. We see how committed to each other they are. Next we are treated to some surprises, one after another. Quentin and Snow are super sexy, and vers, which makes their time even more exciting.
    Charon and Paine are scarred inside and out.
    The wrap up is marvelous, but not for our next couple, Quentin and Snow.
    I am still having fun reading about these dark romances, gangsters and assassins.

    This one was a little different. Not in a bad way at all. Paine and Charon have such a complicated history that it’s hard to fit it all in such a short book. But reading them coming back to one another gave me all the feels. Especially Paine. He really needed Charon to help him heal.

    A quick and complex read that I quite enjoyed.

    So much emotion in one book. This had me in tears at one point. So much love to heal the hurt. I just wanted to jump into the book and hug the main characters and a few of the side ones as well. Loved this book.
