Fitzwilliam Darcy, Poet: A Pride & Prejudice Variation (Dimensions of Darcy Book 2) Kindle Edition

4.3 out of 5 stars 610 ratings

He's a famous poet… he just doesn't know it.

Fitzwilliam Darcy was burned once. Never again. Hiding his emotions, Darcy takes pride in his marble-like façade… until he meets a lady who threatens to expose his true character.

Elizabeth Bennet longs to meet the man whose poems touch her soul—the elusive Mr. Walter Wyndham. He is her ideal; her dream… and everything emotionless Mr. Fitzwilliam Darcy could never be.

Stuck in each other’s company, Darcy’s carefully constructed barriers come crashing down when he discovers the secret identity of Elizabeth’s beloved poet. It’s him!

Will Darcy measure up to the man she’s been dreaming of for years? Will Elizabeth stubbornly pursue an illusion, or will she fall for an imperfect (and very real) man?

Fitzwilliam Darcy, Poet is a sweet and clean romance variation of Jane Austen's timeless classic, Pride and Prejudice. It's the second book in the Dimensions of Darcy series of standalone novels.

This is a wonderful variation. There is a key difference and that is of Wickham. Georgiana is never present or even in danger from him. This is a delightful story that had me smiling and laughing. Jane and Bingley's love story added to the depth. We had Elizabeth and Darcy's points of view and throughout the story we watch the love story unfold. Would recommend highly.

Jennifer Joy has given us another intriguing, delightful book in which she creates an appealing and believable Darcy threatened with loss and shame from his nemesis, Wickham. The action quickens and the tension mounts to deliver an unexpected twist in the end.

I thought this book was near perfection until I read the last two sentences of the epilogue. I thought them trite and that the better ending would be to leave them unwritten. Soon, I found myself identifying with the Elizabeth Bennet of this book.

I was "presumptuous" thinking that I knew better than this author, for on the next page I found "Impertinent Minx." As I read it, memories of my beloved canine filled my heart and overflowed my eyes. It's inclusion followed by "Nonpareil" showed me the perfection of this work.

The plot flowed well and was believable. Plausibility was not an issue, as the conflicts were neither farfetched nor exaggerated. It was also well-written and edited. These, plus the emotions evoked are reasons that I rate this book one of my rare five out of five stars. I read this on Kindle Unlimited, but in a few moments it will become my next purchase.

    Read and enjoy.

This is a quick, entertaining read. While Jane is ill at Netherfield, Elizabeth comes to take care of her and has many enlightening conversations with Darcy and Wickham. She also does a fair bit of eavesdropping. Darcy discovers that her favorite poet is Walter Wyndham, but the verses she shows him were actually written by Darcy. Mr Darcy has been writing poetry for years as a way of dealing with his emotions, and had no idea that they have been stolen and published under another name. He quickly discovers the culprit and lays a trap that he almost doesn’t see through. One unusual thing about this story is the presence of Wickham at Netherfield. Darcy knows what he is and even warns him away from the Bennet girls, but he is largely tolerated by Darcy since the events of Ramsgate have not taken place. Wickham even convinces Elizabeth to stay at Netherfield for a few more days after Jane’s recovery. He constantly challenges Darcy and even defends him to Elizabeth, but he’s not completely without his self-serving ways.

This book gets 5 stars because it gave me all the feels. It was so warm and sweet, like a fresh chocolate chip cookie. A nice treat that leaves you satisfied.

I loved this Darcy and Elizabeth. Their interactions we're often funny and you could feel the attraction slowly building between them. You can't help but ache for them toward the end when they each think they've lost each other... I'm usually better at description, but I'm currently half asleep. Just know that they were sweet, charming (in that elusive accidental/not even trying kinda way), funny, warm and intensely loving. They don't hold back.

As for Wickham...oy, what a schmuck. It wasn't difficult to see what he'd been up to, but then this isn't meant to be a Sherlock Holmes mystery, either. He provided the necessary conflict and even helped bring ODC together, though considering what he'd done it's hard to feel grateful to him (as Elizabeth points out to him). And his ultimate fate is very fitting, though not one I've seen before. I'm smiling just thinking about it. Technically, he got what he's always wanted, but not the way he'd ever pictured it. Snicker.

I'm glad Me Joy has a stack of books waiting for me to read. I'm eager for another.

Darcy writes poems which are loved by others. Lizzy loves the poems and wants to meet the author that is perfect for her heart. Lizzy and Darcy meet and there is a connection but he is not perfect. Darcy wants her to love him, it his poems. Will she? Can she?

Good book. I recommend this sweet romantic tale.

I thoroughly enjoyed this light, no angst, delightful story for a summer’s read. Just when I began to have hope for Wickham. Alas, he’s still a scoundrel, but this Wickham was fun to read. This Bingley stood tall in my eyes. It all ended too soon for me, but it’s not a criticism; I just wished for more. I hate good stories to end. Highly recommend.

I absolutely adore this book. I love the way the feelings develop between Darcy and Elizabeth as the story goes on.
Wickham is a little different in this story although he does irritate Darcy and reaps the rewards!
I’m not very good at writing reviews without spoilers so would just say I highly recommend this romantic, low angst book, which I will definitely add to my re read list ❤️

Lizzy is in love. Her love is a poet that she has never met. It’s obvious from the first to use who the poet is - or is it? Can the nice Mr Wickham help Lizzy find her true love. A lovely book, not too long a read. Recommended.
